Yes, 500W is the nominal power, meaning the motor can handle greater wattage for short periods of time and the controller delivers it. 36V battery AFAIK will accelerate faster, but have lower max speed. 48V will accelerate slower, but with higher max speed. To keep the same wattage 48V should be configured to deliver lower current by the controller, hence the slower acceleration. The bike is a 29er which also affects the numbers when it comes to acceleration and max speed.
The e-bike kit was set up by a guy who has a small shop and knows his stuff. Pretty sure he modifies the default settings. I was going to buy the 48V battery, but he convinced me to go 36V as this way he can set it up for faster acceleration. And the big tires will still give me decent max speed.

What I'm finding out is that most people who comment on these video's have no idea what their talking about. You would think someone would give some concrete advice on how to get a 500 watt motor up to these speeds being that they are all limited to 20 mph (throttle).

It is 500W rated nominal power for the motor. The controller does put more power to it for short periods of time. 840 - 850 W is the maximum power I've seen on the display.
@@kaikart123 he might actually not be you know. Sure he may be off a bit. But i can honestly say my 250w bafang motor+36v battery does 37kph straight out the box. Plug & play no controller settings needed. So its honestly not too surprising if he has a 500w motor which is double the power, doing kinda close to those speeds. Especially if he’s pairing it with a 48/52v controller and 52v battery. He’d be going pretty frigging fast. Maybe not quite the speeds he stated, but deffo not that far off. I’m not sure what it is about bafangs motors but after owning one, i honestly think that they are way more powerfull than the label they slap on to them. Whereas the cheap chinese brand motors are actually closer to their labeled power, if not less sometimes. Which makes sense why i see some of these bafang 500w kits outperforming alot of these chinese 750w kits easily.
no. 21mph. 35kph = ~21mph. This is a very good speed for city/suburban commutting. However, hub motors don't have a lot of torque for other terrains. If you're in an even slightly remote area with unpaved roads anywhere, you'll need at least 750w hub motor or 500w mid drive motor. The sweet spot for each of these types are 48v 1000w-1200w hub motors or 48v 750w-1000w mid drive motors. 1000w mid drive may be overkill, but the speed and torque are so worth it, since they're at the edge of the limits for what a decent bike can handle.
@@originalrecipe6113good speed for commuting. Poor speed for a 500w motor thats capable of so much more. If My bafang 250w +36v battery can easily do 23mph out the box. For most people an actual properly setup 500w motor is more than enough. Too fast even.
500w for 35km/hr I expected it to be higher So let's just get 1000w for a least 50km/hr But if it don't hits 50km/hr Bafang should create 1500w 3000w or even 5000w motor which most of us most likely want

36v ?
Да
I am made a bike like yours on this moment, it is a trek bike 7 speed giant the motor is 500w 36v and a gazelle orange innergy battery Il lion cels 36v 20 ah if that is not enough I Wil made a battery with more power (I am a little bit a pioneer u will find out on my CZcams channel jelle terpstra) now the wires and than the top speed trim to 30 km hours atherwis I got a problem with the police in Holland ha ha oh yea I use a helmed better than nothing.
We can see the phone just fine.
шумит как троллейбус
That's definitely not 500 watts. I would say it's a good full charge thousand Watts the least
It is 500W rated nominal power for the motor. The controller does put more power to it for short periods of time. 840 - 850 W is the maximum power I've seen on the display.
why my bafang 500w 48v go
80 kp/h?
@@ahmaddarking5386 because you're lying
@@ahmaddarking5386if youre getting close to those speeds then that means you know how to set up ebikes propperly 🫡
Kinda slow
I removed the limited on my 450 watt E-bike
Also did a small tunning and i can reach 60 kmph on a straight
Interested dude what did you do
I'd like to know what battery size and amps you were running dude
What did you do?
Km!h ?
Yes
So top speed is only 35 mph
no.
This guys 500w motor should be doing WAY more. But he did say he’s using a 36v battery, meaning he’s also using a 36v controller+ he’s overweight which would severely bottleneck his speed a shit ton. Otherwise a 500w bafang motor should literally be flying! No lie. These things are waaaay faster than he demonstrated here. Scary fast! He just didnt set it up propperly. For most people an actual properly setup 500w motor is more than enough. Too fast even.
Break
Mph or km/h?
Km/h
Mph because it’s from Europe
500 watt hub motor is faster, 39km speed, need to make some modification on this bike, or start pedaling bro
this isnt legal tho, is it?
who cares
Thats weird...
I can hit 39km/h with my 500w hub motor.
He's probably heavier than you
Так такую скорость можно просто на хорошем байке ехать на педалях...
Я думаю в долгую 50 на 50 можно будет ехать со скоростью 34 км/ч.
JUST 35KM=? ;(
it is fast for a bicycle man. If you want more speed buy a scooter or motorcycle
500w for 35km/hr
I expected it to be higher
So let's just get
1000w for a least 50km/hr
But if it don't hits 50km/hr
Bafang should create 1500w 3000w or even 5000w motor which most of us most likely want
@@markart157nah bro. Thats very slow for a 500w kit. The 250w version of this kit does 37km out the box. He has the 500w and only hit max 35km. He’s using a much weaker battery and controller than he should be for this type of kit + i think he also said he’s overweight. So his speed is greatly reduced on a motor that should literally be flying! Op is right.
@@travissentertainment9663
If setup correctly, the 500w kit is insanely fast. He just didnt set it up properly with the right battery & controller. Thats why his is so slow. Even the 250w bafang kit with 36v battery goes faster than his.
Noisy ...
