By "see it in color" I believe he means you should have been there as it happened cause those pictures don't do that moment justice.
Criscee Willcutt ya
True
Most certainly. Just as our children will never be able to understand the emotions of our lives.
Hay how about Thomas Rhett and keepers for a veterans react elk hunter
I agree and you said it perfectly!!!
Jamey is this generations great songwriter! Thanks for reacting.
I've always enjoyed this song. It's got a good message.
Yes it is indeed
A picture can bring you back to a wonderful memory, but he’s really saying you needed to be there and experience it with him....in color
Such a wonderful song by a traditional country singer. Thank you for showing.
Try "High Cost Of Living," "Mary Go Round" or "Give It Away" by Jamie Johnson or Try "Highway 20 Ride" by Zac Brown Band or "20 Years Ago " by Montgomery Gentry if you haven't already.
especially "give it away" and "highway 20 ride"! those are amazing!
A simple but brilliant song!
Jamey Johnson is my brother's favorite singer. And one of my Dad's favorite too. This makes me wish I could hug them right now. :/ 💜
This song always gives me chills. I take pictures all the time.
I was born in 53 on a cotton farm in rural Louisiana and raised by my grandparents so I can relate to this song and it brings back so many memories
This is the song that got me interested in country music. Many consider it to be one of the best written songs of all time.
Jamey Johnson's best story song is front porch swing afternoon he paints an amazing picture with his words. His best all around song is Macon but listen for the double meaning in that one. He was IMHO the predecessor to Chris Stapleton.
“A picture worth’s a thousand words.......shades of gray keep cover”
That line kills.
What a great song.
If you ever get a chance, you need to see him in concert!
Side note Jamey Johnson is a Marine veteran
Great Song Thank You Jamey Johnson .
Jamey is a retired marine and is great patriot!!! I’ve seen him 5 times since 2014 and was set to see him this month at renfro valley, Ky for the 6th time till the COVID-19 hit and that screwed up the trip!
Toby Keith - Made in America. Great reaction
We, my family, still take pictures because how else will the future generations know where they come from, the sacrifices given, and how good they have it now. I wouldn't know my GREAT grandparents if it weren't for pictures and stories.
I've met Jamey and I've been on his tour bus (I work at a country radio station). Not only is he insanely talented, but he's so down to earth and kind. We had the best time just kicking back, talking, telling stories. He tells a story as well as he sings a song, too. Glad you enjoyed the song. And I really liked his message, too. A picture is only ever going to show you a moment, it will never show you what it was like to live it.
Meeting and getting to talk to Jamey Johnson...That is totally phenomenal April!
Aaron Tippin - "Kiss This" .... or anything from him, really
Looove Aaron Tippin!
You should like you are from my neck of the woods and I say that Aaron Tippin is my homeboy cause I am from Greenville South Carolina!!!
Amanda Macalik or honkey tonk superman
Love that song
A very powerful song. It makes you think. We all know about events like wars, the great depression, 9/11, and more but we tend to forget those events were lived by real people, with real names, real families, and real lives. All we have to know their stories from are images. It makes you wonder what it was really like to be there or in other words "to see it in color."
"Mowin Down the Roses" or honestly anything by Jamey Johnson is so great, Keep being awesome!!
And "Playing the Part"..
You are right... all his songs are GOOD!
No one dies, the grandpa is just answering the grandkid’s questions about the pictures.
I met the man who wrote this song Lee Miller and he’s so genuine when he wrote this!! Love Jamey Johnson!!
Beautiful!💛🤘🏼✌️
Jamey is a wonderful soul and one of the best singer/songwriters around. Try 'Lead Me Home'. He absolutely never disappoints
The message that I take from this song (I believe he wrote this song with Chris Stapleton) is while the pictures look nice or crazy...you should've seen what it was like to live it. "A picture is worth 1,000 words, but you can't see what those shades of gray keep covered...you should have seen it in color." In other words, the message of the song is something we all say...if you think the picture is crazy...you should've BEEN there while it was happening.
I love this song!! It reminds me of my mammaw and pappaw and I miss them so much!!!
You should do some more Eric Church. Some good songs would be:
Sinners Like Me
Desperate Man
Love Your Love The Most
Record Year
Like A Wrecking Ball
And "Home Boy"..
Or did he already do that one?
Madison yes!
MC it's one of my all time favorite Church songs!!
If you do Eric church, Lightning has to be on the list.
Brandon Sherman that's a good one too. I love all of Eric's music those 5 are just the first ones I thought of. I could go on all day with his songs😂😂
One of the things people don't remember is that photos, for the longest time, were the only way to capture a moment in time (other than to write it down). So you'd talk about the photos, go through photo albums, and each photo represented a memory. For a lot of people, especially pre-1970s, photography was not cheap and easily accessible, so having photos at all was rare.
Jamey Johnson my saving grace
Kelli... I love that song..
Always wondered if he was singing about his own life... I don't think he was cause I seen him perform in Montgomery Alabama and his Father was there talking to people...
Now.. his Dad did have a tee shirt on that said "Not a Role Model".. Haha..
I remember that cause my son said "I want one of those!" Hahaha...
My mom always said if her house was ever on fire, she'd run in to save her photos. ❤️
No one passed away he’s telling a story of when he asked his grandpa about a picture and he’s retelling what his grandpa told him about all the black and white pictures of him when he was 11, when he was in WW2 and when he got married
Love his voice, and love the message - how a picture might be worth a thousand words and can capture an image of a moment, but it's nothing compared to actually being there, living it, and having the memories of that (the seeing it in colour). Plus it was a tribute to his grandad, how sweet is that!?
I want to say I only discovered you about a week ago and I'm binge watching you. You're my most favorite reaction channel for music. You get it .
Incredible piece of art from one of the best! Respect!
I don't like much country, but I do love this one!
I played this song at my Daddys funeral. 💖
I was going through old photos with Grandma Verna once and asked her why there were so many pictures of them where they'd climbed up on stuff. Up poles, top of swing sets, etc. They were in their early 20's. She just laughed and said they partied a lot and it was the thing to do I guess 😂
Love that song!!!
Those are actually Jameys old family pictures. I've seen him 3 times. I would go back another 30. Definitely recommend seeing him live
Warren...wow! I always wondered if those were his family pictures...
He is one of my favorite singers... I seen him once in Montgomery Alabama at the Preforming Art Center ... He was amazing but the accostics were way too loud... He had his then preteen daughter sing with him....
He one of my favorite country singer
For the VETS ! Thankyour from the bottom of my HEART !
Love this song!
Yes! I have two big photo albums for both of my kids. They are filled with their baby pictures and pictures of me and their dad.
So glad you got to listen to Jamey Johnson. You really need to see TAKE ME HOME. It's by Jamey Johnson. I know you will love it. R.I.P, Kent, We miss you.
One of my favorite all time songs.
Lead me home- Jamey Johnson is one of his best
Check out his song Lead me Home by him. My best man died 4 months after my wedding. We played it at the funeral because it was a great message of his life.
Easily one of the most beautiful songs ever, my great grandma listened to it all the time and I fell in love with it everytime she played it
He's one of my most favorite guys ♥️
Man I forgot how much I love this song, and the music video.
Thank You! i believe you appreciate his service more than any other reaction video i have watched! WWII generation is the Greatest!
Yippee! I requested this!!!! I love Jamey Johnson.
Way to go Chrystal!
I love Jamey Johnson too!
I still print out photos. I love photo albums
Karen Gertis me too! when I was little I used to have tons of disposable cameras, and even now that I use my phone for all of my pictures I make sure to get the special moments printed... so many people my age don’t do that but I can’t imagine not having physical copies of such treasured photos!
@@katieallen3142 me too. It's so much fun to look at old family photo albums. Always the highlight of family reunions.
Karen Gertis yes. And sometimes they, (meaning the pictures), can bring up memories of other things you forgotten had happened that particular day.
Fun fact, some of the older photos that are more pastel in color are hand painted, before color photography was affordable it's how most people were able to have color photos.
Love this song. True country soul. It's the stories that makes the difference. I remember having talks with my Grandpa just like this. Miss that old man.
I have hundreds of pictures like this that I have saved from generations who are long gone but, I knew that they would mean something to someone one day. I also have pictures from my own life that will one day mean something to those who go after me. This is our family history. Not everything is available online. Sometimes the most important things you find will be in the most unexpected places.
Awesome song! Makes me cry every time I hear it. By the way... I love it when BYSE shows up! Love how genuine you are. God bless you... psst.. can I adopt you as one of my non-kids?!
I LOVE portraits from during our grandparent's time. Everyone looked so dapper. Grandma Verna was a looker too 😍
No way to understand it if you weren't there. Awesome song with an awesome story.
Photos are like hand writing letters nothing can replace them
One of my most favorite country songs of all time!! So beautiful and the message so true. My mom was a picture nut job. Literally has thousands of pictures that fill over 100 albums and totes and that's even after a house flood destroyed many of them! As a kid, it was annoying, she always had her camera out taking embarrassing photos at the craziest times but now, as an adult and having kids of my own I appreciate them a lot more and am doing my best to restore the ones I can. They are precious moments and memories in the lives of me and my family and I know now why they meant so much to her. Digital may be the way of the world now but nothing will ever take the place of physical picture.
That is one of my favorite songs.
I still print photos all the time. I love looking at photographs of loved ones.
I still take and print pictures. My grandkids swarm me and say " Grandma can I have this one please."
I'm so glad you reacted to this one, this is easily one of my favorite country songs of all time. Reminds you to enjoy every moment and memory you have while you still can because pictures will never do it all justice.
This one and Tennessee whiskey gets me every time this one I think bout my papa and nana she died of breat cancer
Saw him live at the Georgia Theater. $30 tickets to one of the best shows ive ever seen. For anyone that hasnt been, its the size of a small high school auditorium... no seats, just walk up and listen to some good music. we were 20' from the stage. Jamie is as good if not better live.
Singer-songwriter the best of everyone, bama boy
outstanding writer see Jamie Johnson's "stars fell on Alabama"
Billy, my man, I just discovered you and you are helping me survive quarantine. I'm a disabled Army vet, and super glad to have a veteran reacting.
I love photo albums. We print photos and have photos on the wall and photo albums all through the house.
Chris Young (the Dashboard) it's a song about a brother who is a marine telling his brother he can have his pickup truck if he doesn't make it back home
Yes dude, I have asked So many times 😂
Love it, thank you. 😁
Great storytelling
I love this song and the video. Thank you for reacting to it.
See that's him talking to his grandpa about the pictures that are in black and white cuz back in them days everything was black and white listen to the first line of the song that sets the stage for the song and the song goes through different stages of Grandpa's life all the way down to the marriage of his wife but what's cool about it it's him singing the words of his grandpa and what his grandpa told him about the picture this song was very well wrote
This song makes me think of my great grandpa everytime I hear it. He’s been gone almost 14 years now but those feelings hit every single time
i have 3 big boxes full of pictures from my childhood and i always make sure to keep printing out pictures off my phone and i'm in the middle of making copy's of them for my brothers
Still have those B & W moments of my childhood.
I love old pictures. I have all my grandmothers and mothers old pics
Jammy Johnson “the dollar” great song
Billy I've been watching you for a while now and you are by far my favorite reactor. Jamey Johnson is one of my favorite artists of all time and your reaction to this song is on point. However there isn't a single reaction video on CZcams to one of my favorite songs of his. Can you please react to Jamey Johnson- Mowin Down the Roses. It's a great song and I know you would like it. Please please react to that song and get it out there for people who have never heard it. Sincerely a BIG fan!!!
When my husband passed away unexpectedly I went and had every single digital picture I could get and had printed.. 300+ pics. I wanted those hands on memories. Also had them put into books for our girls. Btw... he loved this song reminded him of his granddaddy 🥰
Thanks for this one. 🖤
Upchurch- everlasting country
Still take family photos when the family gets together and do stuff. There's just a lack of creating photo albums that probably needs to happen. Enjoying photos seem better when they're tangible in your hand and you're flipping through the pages.
That was great. Thanks Billy!
This is my first time to hear this man before he has a nice voice and this is a great song Thank you for sharing this Billy I really appreciate you
Great reaction, love this song.
“Somebody passed away in this.” I think it’s official - Billy is now a country boy!
This is a great song. I may be strange but I still have pictures printed.
His grandfather is telling him the story of his life...telling the grandchild
I love singing along with this song. I always get choked up when he says, "that's the story of my life." My throat refuses to drop the note from "my" to "life." :) Love this song.
Billy I now go around saying what's crackin around my house. LOL
He's a very good song writer
This is my favorite song
Try Dan Seals "Everything that Glitters"
High Cost of Living is an amazing song by the same artist. Also, I’m new to the party, but love your videos! This song was played at my grandpa’s funeral. He was a war vet as well. Love this song!
