    You’re sooo good. You explain it all so well. I totally reupholstered my lovely 1940s chair following your video on that (it looks amazing) and now I’m covering an old square stool. I couldn’t work out how to make the corners neat...now I do. Thanks for posting. You’re amazing 👍

    Thanks! I bought a secondhand footstool that was perfect for my chair and space but the cushion was low and wrecked. I understood how to replace what was there with the same height but wasn’t sure how to make the cushion deeper. Your video explained it perfectly. Thanks so much for taking the time to make and post this video.

    I spent 3 hours working on a round chair seat for a friend so finally decided to let good enough alone and perfect it some other time. It is a lot easier for me to center a pattern on a square seat! The experience reminded me of trying to trim my daughter’s hair and every time I snipped one side to make it even, the other side needed a little more snipped, on and on until I had to quit because her hair was getting too short!

    Hi! Could you please offer some more explanation for how you decided how deep to cut the corners while allowing for enough seam allowance at 5:55?

    • @faceliftinteriors
      @faceliftinteriors  Před 3 lety +2

      Hi Alex! The corners were at the finish size of the footstool plus half inch seam allowance on each side. So the footstool finish size was 14 inches and I drew the lines 15 inches (7.5 either side of the centre line) which gave me my half inch seam allowance on both sides. The footstool was square so the same measurements on each side. I hope this makes sense 😊👍🏻

  • @wesfield09
    @wesfield09 Před rokem

    where exactly did u measure at to get the 26”? and do you always add 1” for the corner cut out? (the 15”) i want to make sure i have enough to make it to the underneath on mine.

    • @faceliftinteriors
      @faceliftinteriors  Před rokem

      So 26" is the total size allowing enough to be stapled off underneath. Then the corners must be 15" apart but I always allow 1" for sewing. Hope this helps 🙏 ☺️ ✂️ 📐 🧵⛏️

    Vinyl round corners is that possible? 😬

    • @faceliftinteriors
      @faceliftinteriors  Před 2 lety

      Yea definitely! Use heat (a hairdryer works well) to heat the vinyl up and it will stretch better. After that, use the same technique 👍🏻

  • @doreenhoneyman9491
    @doreenhoneyman9491 Před 2 lety +1

    Where did you get the 15 inches from is that the sides

    • @faceliftinteriors
      @faceliftinteriors  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Doreen! I cut the fabric 26 by 26 inches to have enough to staple it off underneath. Then the 15 inches is the exact measurement of the box itself (plus half inch seam allowance each side for sewing - the box measures 14 inches). So then the corners once cut out and sewn together will sit perfectly on the corners of the box. I hope this makes sense!
