- Fresh from a stint with Kenny Everett, the dance troupe perform a one off show from London Lyceum for Channel 4 in 1982 dancing to Walk on The Wild Side, Exodus, I Feel Love, The Model and Whip it, to name a handful.
Hot Gossip are:-
Boys: Roy Gale, Floid Pearce, Heavon Grant
Girls: Kim Leeson, Donna Fielding, Jane Newman, Alison Herlihy, Laura James, Trudy Pack, Donette Goddard - Hudba
I can't get enough of Donna Fielding..
I recorded this off channel 4 when it was first aired. It blew my mind. Had it for years until my cousin recorded an episode of Coronation Street over it. Now years later here it is. I've downloaded it and won't lose this one. Thank you xxx
Timeless ultimate dance troupe,THEE BEST !!!
I saw 'Hot Goss' back in the early 80's when they supported Freddie Starr at the then 'Night Out Theatre' in B'ham and boy were they HOT !!!
Arlene Phillips is a dance genius. I can't bring to mind any person, in any career, with a more impressive c.v. These dancers' moves, athleticism, and subtlety is beyond amazing, all sewn into an erotic tease. Amazing costumes, photography, and production. The complete package!
Yes, the complete package of evil's first layer, i.e. the allure of sin.
Not judging, I went for it too, believe me!
But it was wrong, is wrong.
[The second and third layers are lies and chaos]
[The fourth layer is what everybody thinks of as evil]
My god I have just returned back in time to my young teens... ❤️❤️... Fantastic
Your first two words do not fit spiritually with the rest of the sentence.
God has nothing to do with this, tempting and alluring though it undoubtedly was ... and still could be.
I went through this in the same way as you did, absolutely up for it...
But we did not know (and neither did the programme planners) what kinds of wrong and d*monic ideas were in the music that accompanied all that hot gyration.
Mrs Whitehouse actually knew, and she was right...
Yes, really...
This is from a time when tv was still pushing boundaries & daring to be daring. Sadly mostly gone now as we plunge into blandness & tv companies fall over themselves to avoid doing anything controversial in case someone is 'offended'.
It was daring to flirt with the forces of darkness, leaving many of us (extremely willing) teen males in the grip of an indelible link between sexual lust and darkness. We watched (ogled), and very questionable lyrics entered our heads without us even knowing (no online pages with lyrics back then). I'm not judging too much, as I was more than up for this. As were we all. Kenny called them "naughty bits", and laughed it off. But as a Born Again person who still struggles with lust I see I still crave the above, wrong though it is...
I saw this as a young man in the age of about 20 in 1980.
Never forget. 😍😜👍👍👍
Agree totally...
bet you wore a long, baggy raincoat
@@JohnTaylor-pe5gf Well, we did not have a cinema at home. 😂 I was really ...😵😍😏😝🤤😱😈 excited! We were shy, but we we're experts in love, in theory. And then you see this hot show, sexy, beautiful girls/women and even 2 black boys/men kissing. For the 80s unbelievable! Better I would have worn a raincoat!
A white one!
You realise that things we never forget can be more a curse than a blessing?
An obsession and an addiction.
The Holy Spirit now offers me partial liberation from this, but I could still crave it easily enough if I chose to.
Think on, Jim, my friend!
@@sidpheasant7585Obviously, you seem to be very religious. Well, talk with me 3 minutes. After you will be without religion. I warned you.
Of course, I grew up as a catholic.
Then I had to go to the German army. About 10 years ago I heard for the first time, that Jesus did not die at the cross. When you look to the bible, it stands in John (Johannes). At the cross, Jesus probably got a sponge with vinegar and Alraune. Jesus did not hang long enough at the cross-look Philippinoes, who are nailed to the cross, they survive. Also, the knees were not broken, if they would, Jesus would have died for sure.
After, people didn't recognize Jesus. Did he hang at the cross himself? After he went to Kashmir and is buried there as "Issa".
Look BBC "Jesus was a Buddhist monk."
Lord Buddha says "life is suffering".
Very clever, this man. Very easy his message.
I said, I warned you.
One time, I talked to a priest.
He did not say, I am wrong.
Anyway, this show is f..king hot.
Good for young men to see.
Loved Hot Gossip! First time I saw them with Freak of Nature on Kenny Everett Show. Sticks in your mind!
Priceless! Thanks for sharing!
I was a 14 year old lad when I first saw this on my dad's hidden VHS. Never thought I would see it again but drunken you tube search 38 years later says otherwise... The circus of death is approaching :)
Seeing hot gossip as a young teen helped me come to terms with my homosexuality - the guys were a feast for my eyes.
I have to say that it helped me to better come to terms with my heterosexuality. ;)
You guys should go and repent. Give your life to Jesus Christ. He will save you.
@@bisolailias3820 you can grow up perhaps?
me too- the pretty young girl's moves seemed acceptable on screen while dancing but we were usually only represented by ugly old butch dykes in dungarees and films of them as villains who prayed on the vulnerable and got Killed in the end and the girlfriend went back to being a good little wife..
@@amojak No, I write similar things, as you see.
Believe me, HG were a lust factory for me too - we were absolutely up for this, beginning say 13 or 14, some of us younger.
TV fed us, and we hungered for more.
But wrong it was, and is...
Indeed, more than we knew, because many of the lyrics of many songs they danced to were diabolical.
While others mocked God.
We were too busy watching to listening, and there were no websites with lyrics back then...
I have looked at it closely, and discern from that - no doubt about it.
My uncle is one of the dancers. It's really cool to see this video.
I see, which one is your uncle?
Andee Bee floid pearce
Sheldon,. Cool, is he contactable at all, would love to have a Q&A with Floid about Ruby Flipper, Hot Gossip etc, and I'm sure alot of folk would love to hear his side of the story. The forum I am on has had Q&A with some of the Legs & Co girls, so a male point of view would be amazing. Of course if he has time.
Andee Bee I will have to ask Family and get back to you!
Ok, no problem, my email is oftdyt@gmail.com, if he wants to drop me a line. Thanks Sheldon.
As the great MICHAEL JACKSON would say : 👉 *THIS IS SERIOUS JELLY* ✨✨✨✨✨✨
U can’t imagine the shock these dancers caused in the 70s.. pans people were instantly outdated, and they were hot too.
I'm pretty sure the first show on the Channel 4 launch was Hot Gossip in 02/11/1982. I think I recorded it on my super expensive Philips VHS which cost me £700 or so 👀
THANK YOU MY LOVE XXXXXXX
Thank You!!! I've wanted to see this forever!!!
Still the best dance troupe ever! So sad they disbanded. Perhaps one day soon they will be reformed.

So much of this wouldn't be allowed on TV now. The feminists would be going nuts.
Agreed. This Amazing Performance belongs in a Dance Academy Museum Archive Forever. It clearly dance demonstrates the perfect blend steps & transition creative mood & feeling from the 70's Pop, Rock, & Disco Era straight over and into the emerging New Wave Era. For us #gogodancers still humpin' the Hollywood Dancefloors, we still do these cool moves at the Retro 70's, 80's, 90's & Up Clubs. Just finished taking a lot of notes here and working up a sweat. Off to see where Choreographer *Alene* *Philips* is today!
The dance troupe from the Kenny Everett video show that launched a 1,000 w*nks from schoolboys all over the UK every week! 😁
That's the truth, but sadly the truth of the world, and its master; not that of Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Now I see.
Those are Gary Numan's light panels.
Which ones?
Using Gary Numan's light panels
Actually the first song is 'Get off your fat' but not performed by Rose Royce
Oi
The female dancers are typical somewhat unattractive but the male dancers are exquisite and so toned excellent dancers!
Interesting dancing to exodus a very spiritual song a lot of rasta's would be offended...esp the fact that they promoting an certain image...
The guyz had to look a certain way the women had to be a certain type...🙄
TOTAL RUBBISH
