  • This is my method for removing Arctic Cat snowmobile primary drive clutch spider. You would have to do this to perform maintenance on the clutch rollers and movable sheave bushings! There will be more videos to go over the cleanup, rebuild/maintenance of the rollers and bushings and reassembly. Best methods I have come up with thus far!
The holder in this video is something I made! The spider removal tool is also something that can be made. Please let me know if you are interesting in the stationary sheave holder.
Here is a link to the clutch removal tool: www.amazon.com/Sno-Stuff-SnoS...
Check the parts I have for sale!: www.ebay.com/usr/longtin_moto...
Lots more parts available but not listed. Please let me know what you are looking for!
Check us out on Facebook and Instagram @longtinmotorsports to keep up with videos, happening, racing etc.
Please subscribe! The more of you that do, the better I can help. To be honest, I need the subscribers to qualify for monetization. I hate ads as much if not more than you do. BUT, if I get your help in viewership and subscription, it'll help me do better videos with better equipment and hopefully provide you with better information.
Goal is to help! So please let me know how I can. Leave me a message on here or find other ways to reach out and get ahold of me if you are working on something and need help, want to see something specific in a video etc. Thanks again!

Thank you so much for taking the time to post the clutch videos. Many of these cat clutches are 20 plus years old now and are due for a refresh. Hoping to do the same to mine here soon. No sticking as of now, but I have never done it and like many, I have no history on the sled since it’s probably had 4+ owners.

Happy to do them! I will obvously be going over the roller replacement and the re-assembly soon. Just have to edit the video! Good to go through these if you have time. especially if you don't have any history on the sled. Easiest way to keep these old sleds running great is by maintaining the clutches. My Brother and I are racing 18+ year old machines against the latest and greatest machines and winning. Not with any super secret tricks. Simply by restoring, the clutches and the machines in general, back to basic condition and maintaining that condition.
Thanks for watching and subscribing! Let me know if you are looking for info on anything in particular.

@@longtinmotorsports will be great to see how the white rollers are replaced on a cat secondary, have not seen any video’s of this yet. Mine are certainly worn and probably could use a replacement.

    Damn dude, you're good.
You are absolutely right about clutching being 90% of snowmobile performance. People don't realize it as they get get dirty and wear at a slow pace, then they think you 'modded'their sled when you give it back to them. "what did you do to it! " lol
Anyway, excellent video and my question is, did you make your fixed sheave fixture/holder? If so, sow? Can I get a couple closer pictures of it?
    Thank you.

Well maintained machines are the leaders! From the track to the trail.
The one I'm using in this particular video is one I purchased for 33mm taper clutches. I have since made my own for the 30mm taper 9-towers and sold a couple. The ones I've made don't have a matching machined taper. But they have worked well for me. If you jump over to Facebook or Instagram and find me @longtinmotorsports I can send you some pictures over there.
Thanks for watching and for your feedback!

It's held onto a cluch holder block that is held by the vice. We make and sell these if you're interested.
