Today we embark on a theory crafting campaign of Eu4 where we stack Army Morale Recovery Speed so that our troops are never sad, ever again!

Casually finding the cure to depression in a Paradox game.
What can I say, I strive to achieve the impossible.
And after today, no one was sad, ever again.
For more than a month, that is
@@candiman4243 ... yes: this is why people start new things on the first of each month.
For the entire rest of this year!
@@snomcultist189 Following this strategy, sadness will always be 0 on the 1st of each month. Beyond that, wait for the next tick if sadness increases.
Thanks, From now on I will refer My troops having low morale as "Being Sad"
happy to be of service!
Thought the opening was going to be a Segway into becoming a hermit while living in a cabin in the woods, and running a very well known mail campaign
Thankfully, as we know History ended in 1821 hence we don't have to worry about that.
Segue not segway
Okay here's a thought. With enough army morale recovery and reinforce speed, could you start cycling your stacks like in Victoria 2?
Reinforce Rate has more sources of it, but you are effecting something that is either 100 in home territory, or 50 in foreign land. That means that you need 900% to recover fully in your land in a month, and 1800% to recover fully in enemy territory. Given the best source is defensive ideas for 30%, I don't think that's doable I am afraid.
@@LemonCake101 30% from defensive, 30% from quality (2 policies with admin and espio) 33% from advisor, 30% from national ideas, as Austria, and 25% from 5th government reform "Organised military staff" you're now at +158% recovery speed. Or to say it differently- in order to replenish all troops, from an armie of zombie regiments to a full stack, you need just 4 months, as opposed to a base line of 10. Also, yes when you're in a foreign territory your base reinforcement is 50%, (and thus all those aforementioned modifiers are also halved in effectiveness) but it can be brought back up to 100% via general's manoeuvrer pips (you need at least 5)
Its possible to get 284% ignoring missions (except for lubeck mission for 33%)@@IndependentObserver
It might be a better strategy to stack recruitment time modifiers for some permanent -110% recruitment speed
Just don't be sad.
Depression rates drop to 0%

i've recently got the idea to stack future monarch skills buffs and from what i've come up with, starting as livonian order, converting to tengri (to get a +1 mil government reform and mandate), grabbing mandate of heaven for +1 admin reform, then reforming to livonia via your mission tree, getting the livonian enlightened monarchy t1, followed by forming france for their mission tree rewards alongside with court ideas and some dynastic administration and some other t12 government reform would give you +4/+3/+3 to all your future monarchs. perhaps you can come up with something better? thanks for the entertainment btw, your content is top notch
So my first video ever (in the domain of modifier stacking) was on this topic, so its probably out of date now, as well as the editing quality really dipping, but its here if you want to take a look: czcams.com/video/D1EuxMAiYao/video.html you got a lot of it in fairness, but you can't reform Livonia AFAIK. You did miss the culture flip to Korean for the palace, but that's pretty much it, unless there is new stuff (oh and France is an endtag too, so no forming things after that, but I did miss the new French missions in my video).
Also thanks for the support and kind words!
oh i must've missed this video somehow, thanks for correcting me on that🤝 oh and by the way, the discord link in your description seems to have expired, do you happen to be in any other public eu4 discord where it would be possible to discuss silly eu4 things?
@@cemeh8610 oh no worries, given the editing quality there, maybe the fact that people are missing that one is for the best.
I am thinking of making my own discord, but the discord link there expired since we lost level 3, so feel free to join with discord.gg/Nj55ns83 or just google Eu4 discord we are still the first result.
I wish my sadness went away at the end of the month 😥
Month tick cures all
Great vid as always but Red Hawk enjoyers know that being "sad" or "depressed" in eu4 isn't morale, but is low War Enthusiasm.
Ah, well, as long as they don't call for pizza, we should be fine.
Idea : Stacking harsh treatment cost, Yes it's useless but let's just say I want to roleplay as a evil tyrant who punishes everyone who tries to disobey me...
Its actually quite useful for when you enter the age of absolutism, as if you stack it enough its a good way of getting absolutism quickly, as you usually have a lot of rebels you can harsh treatment, and you gain +1 absolutism each time you do.
Pretty sure it's easier to just trigger the "Court and Country" disaster to get absolutism, pls focus on Permanent modifiers@@LemonCake101
Yo mate, great vid as always. Just in case, the game shows up in the CZcams Description as EU1, not EU4
Thanks for the feedback! I am aware the game shows up as Eu1, Eu4 doesn't exist as a game option: its either that, or I set it to 'Eu4 DLC Name' and none of those have pictures.
Also my first videos got that in the description, and I decided to run with it as a mini inside joke.
@8:55 Anime characters when they are about to loose but get flashback
(average flashback does indeed take a month to fully watch/play out)
every anbennar fan hearing the soundtrack used at the beginning :)
What can I say, great soundtrack, great mod!
The answer is to play as Anbennar Trolls as they get an automatic +50%
Oh yeah, that helps, but that also disables Ironman slightly
@@LemonCake101 That was quite a fast reply
@@sadolftalin1016 if you catch me when I am watch CZcams, fair enough, but if you comment when I am asleep, sorry, it may take me a while!
@@LemonCake101 More just that it's impressively attentive.
@@sadolftalin1016 I mean I am sure it gets harder for the big youtubers but you can set it up to get a notification from CZcams every time you get a comment or a reply. I do my best from there.
Cool !
That was quick!
It would be cool if you showed the stacked modifiers in action, like play some of the game with the modifier to show how crazy it is.
I am tempted to do a run where I stack one of the modifiers, but yeah Morale Recovery is just a really strong quality of life feature.
Love me a Tarte de citron 😋
Glad you enjoyed!
Afaik divrigi mosque hostpial in divrigi province in anatolia also gives 15% recover army morale and reinforce speed
That is true, it is a pretty new one too. I am not sure if I missed it to be honest, or if it was added after the video came out at this point. Either way, well spotted!
I am sàd that turning down payments for the troops seems to effect Merc and troops I rent to other nations.
Yeah, ideally you would be able to control payments for each individual stack.

Highest unrest? Can you overcome recent uprising?
Overextension stacks forever, so just get over 2000%
Already answered but yes you can, as a 3k OE enjoyer I can confirm 🥲
Since when has an infinitely stacking modifier been a satisfying answer?
@@inutamer365 theres a couple to be fair, like Morale or Discipline, or Fort Defensiveness/Max Attrition, to name just a few.
Hmmm good to know, I just need to convince myself I’m Korean and the world I’m Hungarian then I’ll be happy forever?
... yes!
But remember, only guaranteed to work for the first day of the month!
The best way to cure sadness is to uninstall eu4 with immediate effect
That's too easy, and we don't do things the easy way here at the Lemon Cake channel.
My ultimate sadness... i have no desire to play after 1.34. It has nothing to do with the patch, ive just lost interest. 2800 hours 0 in the last 90 days. Help me..
Lack of motivation and burnout is very much a real thing for Eu4, I find for a lot of people its a very cyclical game you come back to. But if you are genuinely looking for campaign suggestions, I am happy to help.
URAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Someone once asked a top chess GM to explain what chess skill is going to help any person in the so called objective reality - drink more water was the answer. It was fun and a minor nerd meme, still it makes so much sense even in our beloved eu4 time
@@s0undf0rm ah fair enough, no I go through a huge amount of water in general, I sip through a couple liters a day while at a desk. Water hits different what can I say.
