    I was positively shocked when in my latest Austria campaign the pope asked me to defend the Latin Empire. I was like "Wait What?""
    Unfortunately, I was in the middle with a war against Venice at the time, and while I joined the war, by the time I was able to do anything the Latin Empire had basically decided it wasn't going to win, despite the fact that the war ticker was slowly moving in their favor. They ceded a couple territories, and naturally got wiped out in the next war. I was so disappointed.

      There are some more interesting ways missing, such as restoring Hellenism. If the Norse religion can be restored, why not Hellanism?

    • @trite4654
      @trite4654 Před měsícem +1

      @lookasetbella history, probably.
      Hellenism was probably extinct by the 5th or 6th centuries, and its cultural practices didn't really survive crackdowns by the Christian church authorities. Asatru, the Norse faith, lasted much longer, until the 11th or 12th centuries. Even after the Norse faith was replaced by Christianity, many parts of their original faith were kept, such as poems featuring pre-christian pagan myths and certain pagan rituals that lasted for centuries after the Faith's official decline.
      In essence, hellenism is deader than dead and has been for nearly 1000 years at this point in the game. Norse is only half dead and was around a lot more, so a potential revival makes a *little* bit more sense

Like why every time I play Byzantium Naples gets into a PU with either Spain or France, why The Commonwealth guarantees a 30k strong ottomans? And How on earth Hungary gets Bohemia and Muscovy in a PU one year after the other, why Albania ally the Hungary and the Pope, my allies too, making attacking Venice or a Mamelukes capable to defeat the ottomans my best options to keep expanding. It’s just pain I just rather play the ottomans until I get bored xD

    i knew this i predicted this in the comunity because when i play byzantine and losing pope offer me to become latin empire though the thing is that i joined hre and become emperor and then exploit the byzantine autocarcy so i can get faster reform (i hope they didnt patch this yet) and then while at it proceed to conquer around while managing the empire and by the age of reformation i form hre (even cursed).

    • @Dukaier
      @Dukaier Před 6 měsíci +1

      @@lookasetbella so here basically there are two ways to do this is that you either be a latine empire or stay byzantine but convert yourself to christian by conquering some lands in italy (so basically you either let the christan zealot win or convert it yourself since you have more christian than orthodox region).

    • @Dukaier
      @Dukaier Před 6 měsíci +1

      @@lookasetbella so the 1st path is the hard path latin empire the problem with this path it just too much rebels going on though you can do it just improve relation qith the elector and the capital is on europe and just weaken austria by humaliating it, scorch their land and eat hungary. And keep improving relation to the elector and hipe to rng they pick you just take diplomatic idea. Once the electors elected you as hre emperor, join the hre add all provinces to hre and then here is byzantine autocracy play its part. When pretender rises up (when you ruler dies) let the pretenders wins (let them win and dont accept their demand) and you get an event where your emperor "dies" an event shows and then gives you imperial authority (i believe its 10 i.a) and then immediately pretender rises over and then let them enforce demand over and over again until you revoke previligia and become hre.

    • @Dukaier
      @Dukaier Před 6 měsíci

      @@lookasetbella or be Byzantium win war against ottomans but dont take too much land (other than that has christian religion) because you might not become christian when you convert yourself make sure to conquer naples and most of his land and make sure not to revoke the union of the church and its up to you, you either yourself convert to Christianity or let the christian zealot convert your land( if you conquer some balkan country that has christian religion) (or just their enforce demand)and that you can stay byzantium while being a christian whilst not suffering too much with the debuff to tolerance and religious unity (with this you can convert back to orthodox easily if you want) but after this take diplomatic idea, improve relation to the electors and ally them, weaken the current emperor and hope to be voted and then become hre emperor and let the byzantine autocarcy do its work let pretenders win (don't accept their demands just let them win) emperor dies, gain 10 i.a, pretendor rises and repeat until you form hre. (You can form hre by either before the reformation or during reformation age depending of your performance) And tadaa you got hre also curse lmao

    • @Dukaier
      @Dukaier Před 6 měsíci

      @@lookasetbella also if yes have borders in italy, have a capital in europe and yes you have one, get elected as the emperor and hope the electors chooses you i mean you can join the hre through improving relation but austria or just weaken him either way works and hope that the electors voted for you. This works on my path either but i choose to weaken austria but ita up to you it depemds of the game you might improvise depending how the game throws. This works in bith path but i will reccomend the byzantine path rather than latin empire.

    I haven't done a Latin Empire run yet, but in my ~5 starts as Byz (trying out the Candar defensive war start) I got the event every time I ended up in the war against them, and I wasn't losing those wars. Nothing in the event says you need to be losing for it to trigger, sometimes it just takes a while. It's probably a lot better to not trash your country at the start to do this. Additionally if you get those claims through the mission tree before or during the war you're going to save a bunch of AE and dip.

    • @lookasetbella
      @lookasetbella  Před 6 měsíci

      The event requirements only state that it should be a defensive war for Byzantium and an offensive war for Ottoman. This approach in the video was the best in 10+ reboots.I don't really understand the trash country statement. I didn't do anything like that. You cannot make claims on Anatolia before retaking your own home territory.

    • @fabbyrob
      @fabbyrob Před 6 měsíci

      @@lookasetbella The 'Impending doom' first mission gives you claims in anatolia which you can use in the defensve war. Also it gives claims in bulgaria you could use, if you dont want to release bulgaria for reconquest.
      The `trash' comment is a bit hyperbolic, but getting full occupied and tons of devastation (while paying for forts) lead to your debt issue. It also means you are just hoping for the event to fire before the ottoman sieges finish. If you just fight the ottomans with a couple allies (I used hungary and poland) while you wait for the pope event to fire you can pretty safely do this with no loans. And the event *will* eventually fire, worst case you just wait in the war for a while.
      I was using the strategy from @TheStudent recent byz video for this, with a few tweaks.

    • @LookasHTW
      @LookasHTW Před 6 měsíci

      Rather, I wanted to go into a quick war here. Previously, I took a few small allies. I was moving the fort. I was abolishing armies, but Osman was attacking me anyway after 4-5 years or eaven 10 years.
      But that's how you really approach it and then you won't come out in such a bad state. You're right.
