🤣 He was happy but ranked it 2nd for post run refreshments. 1st place for him is a little cafe in Builth Wells where we had a full English after Groe parkrun. However, Babbs Mill is at the top me 😁 One not to miss out on!
You know it well 😁 When I edited the video I thought I spotted Jenna, if I’d known at the time, I’d have said hi. Ironically I thought I had no footage inside the cafe, the camera said no battery left (I forgot to fully charge it before I left). I sat the camera on the table not realising it was still filming and got some good shots…. all 24 minutes of them 🤣
Thanks Colin. I try to watch a couple of videos before I head over to a new run. One thing that’s always hard to tell is elevation. That’s one thing I only really find out when I get there. We went to Severn Valley today but I didn’t film. It’s a beautiful route and wish I’d taken the camera…. I’ll have to return one week to get some shots for a video 😊
Great find on the cafe. And an interesting history of the area. Not sure about our best parkrun breakfast but a memorable one was Sewerby, where we went to a cafe on the coast and the Full English came with the addition of chips...at 10am...
A full English with chips 😁 must be what the locals like. Saying that, if I was served chips at 10am, I’d be more than happy to eat them 🤣 We ran at Severn Valley on Saturday and was a brilliant course. I didn’t film but we enjoyed it so much we’ll go back again at some point to make a video. Just after 10 you get to see a steam train go past, right next to the route 🚂
I think it’s in a perfect spot, close enough to visit but not close enough to do too much harm 😁 I did go home and contemplate getting my own waffle maker, then I talked myself out of it and decided just to go back occasionally 🧇 Great to meet you on Sunday. Hope you enjoyed the race 🏃🏻
@@racheld1844 Good to see you, too! I underestimated how busy the race was! Cheers again for your coverage in previous years. Definitely a big help for newbies like myself...
Oh dear 😬 that’s a long trip to get to another run 😁 We’re spoilt for choice in the midlands, plus once we’ve completed all the local ones, we’re more than happy to them another visit, it’s just deciding which one 😊
Definitely! You won’t be disappointed. Might be a fun idea to have a CZcamsrs meet up one time. Get chance to have a proper chat with everyone. Warwick was pretty hectic plus we missed seeing Haley at the finish, plus Stu and Jenna 😊
Might be worth going just for the waffles! I keep thinking I'd like to aim for a 21 minute 5k but I know you're faster than me so now I'm thinking it'd be a bit stretch!
21 is a very realistic goal for you Mark. I just can’t generate enough speed over short distances. My strengths are always on longer runs/races. Plenty have said they’ve gone sub 20 on a 5k but can’t hit my longer distance times. I’m sure you can achieve that time with some speed sessions thrown into the longer easy runs. I can’t see the waffle shop going out of business anytime soon, it’ll be there for a while if you’re ever over this way 😁
To think we have both been there but have never heard about this cafe 😮 we will definitely have to revisit, we must say you were very quick, it’s a lovely course that one, thank you for making it and we look forward to Warwick half 🎉
Hope I’ve not ruined their top secret cafe 🤣 Nope, we’d never heard of it either. It was only through the app and reading the reviews I saw photos of yummy waffles. I still had to google where they were from and found it was at the church over the road. Then when I found they were only £3 I was sold…. should have ordered 2 🤣
Wow that cafe looked insanely good. Was that waffles with ice cream? I definitely enjoy a good breakfast after a race. You'll get back to sub 21 soon. You seem to thrive on high mileage and as the marathon training gets deeper I suspect your time will improve. First 5k for 202r this weekend. We shall see where I am at with my 5k fitness. Another cool video and I saw you on Raleys Adventures video
Yes, waffles with ice cream, cream and lots of sauce, some had fruit too. The staff were very busy serving us all but such a nice vibe and staff coming over to talk. I’m sure your recent half’s will help with your 5k. I’m hoping that the effort at Warwick, once settled and recovered, will see my 5k time come down too. Good luck and let me know how it goes. Yes, lots of CZcamsrs were there and it was great to meet them. With over 2000 runners I wasn’t even sure I’d find any of them 😊
Hi Brian, that’s right, the course has changed this year to 2 laps of the first loop and a section at the start that takes in more of the city centre. I can see the pros and cons but having run it last year I’ll be able to compare the two. I will keep a look out for you when I race 😁
Thanks Gary! 2 of my favourite things, running and eating dessert 😁 I’m on a recovery week this week after Warwick half but about the ramp up the volume in the coming weeks. Are you at Newport this year?
@@racheld1844 got to love an easy week! I'm not at Newport this year sadly. My time from last year qualified me for Boston Marathon so I am heading the the USA in April. Sooooo excited!!!
Great run!! You’ve sold me on Babbs!! Rory’s little face in that cafe. Sheer joy.

Holy cow! Those waffles look incredible!
Too many to choose from, I wanted to try them all. Up until then, I hadn’t even had a fresh waffle before. It was even better than I thought 😁
Such great place for running , the cafe absolutely wonderful with delicious dessert. Thank you for great sharing ❤️👍👍
Everything was perfect 🤩 Nice run, nice people and yummy food 😊
Great channel! 👍🏻😊 Interesting video! 🙂🏃👍🏻
Hi, thanks so much 😊
Hi Rachel Wild One was brilliant! Lots of groups doing the team event. Great trail loop. . Loved it!!
Brilliant! Well done 😁
The cafe is definitely a great reason to go to babbs Mill. Great to see jenna tucking into her food in the background 😂😂

Cheers Rachel. Looks a decent ParkRun with little inclines and mud, with fast sections to compensate.
Post run treats look very nice.

Those waffles look fantastic, a well deserved treat after a run, well done!
Thanks Matthew, it might have to be a crepe next time 😁
Brilliant video and what a wonderful cafe at the church..must go
Thanks, I couldn’t fault anything about running at Babbs Mill. I hope you enjoy your visit too 😊

Great time 😃 and amazing waffles 😃 sadly nothing like that near me in Bristol ☹️
Hi Claire, I couldn’t believe my luck when I found it existed. Completely up my street 😁
That’d be a dangerous local parkrun to have, haha. Post-run waffles would be a weekly treat…
