Polene Dix price increase, Smooth Leather Pros & Cons, Wear & Tear, Compared with Tonca [monaliceke]

Since many of you are undecided between the Dix and the Tonca style, let’s review the Polene Dix today.
I wanted a black bag in the half-moon, curved shape, that’s why I’ve chosen the Polene Dix in smooth black leather with the contrast stitching instead of the smooth leather in cognac colour.
I will also share a quick comparison with the Tonca bag after we talk about the Dix.

I’m very happy that I got them before the price increase.
My husband bought me the Dix at the end of November last year for 380 euros (plus 15 euros for shipping). That's the cost of shipping 2 bags. I also ordered the Nodde at the same time, but I have returned it as the zipper opening is too small.
Current price (2024) of the Dix is 470 euros, increased from 380 euros (2023)!
Tonca was 340 euros (2023) and I bought it in December with the free shipping promotion. The price now is 390 euros (2024), exclude shipping cost!
These are bags that I can use every day; and also when I travel.
I like them both.
Which one do you like? Dix or Tonca?

This was really helpful!! I love both of these styles and am torn which to get. Just came from your in depth review on the Tonca and I think for the ease in versatility I’m leaning towards that one. Both of these bags are so unique it makes it hard to choose just one!

I fully agree with you. Actually I love the Dix smooth leather in cognac more but I decided to get the black smooth leather instead, just because I don’t want the Tonca in black. In my opinion, the Tonca design stands out better in a colour rather than in black.

Thank you for being so concerned about my health. My next video will be a (4 to 5-months post-op) update on how I'm coping with my recovery. It's not always as 'smooth-sailing' as I appear on camera. I want to remain positive and focus on learning new things, especially filming and video editing to divert my attention from day-to-day challenges. Hi! would u be able to help estimate if it can fit a folded umbrella that is 24cm in length pls? 🙏🙏

Hi, the Dix bag measures 24cm on the outside and the total zipper length is less than 21cm (with a narrow opening). I’m afraid 24cm umbrella will not fit. Hope this helps.
