Jack looks like the final boss you would have to fight at guitar center
Ha!
Lmao 😂 winner comment I’m dead that’s hella funny cuz it’s true 😂😂😂
That would be a very easy boss to defeat.
lmfao >>>>finish him !!!
lol
The chemistry between the two of them is really what makes the magic happen. The way they look at each other and just dial in.
Quantum entanglement

@@bugginoutknots5754 you got it
Their ability to be a band after they got divorced has to go down in history. You can see their connection on Little Ghost when they are looking each other in the eyes and smiling singing the song. Such chemistry and were able to keep it going and have that connection straight through the music. Honestly gives me chills. They are the best ever.
You ever hear of a little band called Fleetwood Mac?
@@herc_ules_therealone Fleetwood Mac were a band before Stevie Nicks even joined the group, you realize that, right? When she joined people hated it, they didn't think it was the same band anymore. Looking back now we see Nicks as being synonymous with the band, but they were a huge band for a few years before she joined. All I'm saying though is that they existed before Nicks, and would have existed after, had they not kept it together as they did.
@@imaxdigital7052Of course I knew they were a band before Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham (who was asked to join, but not Stevie. Lindsay later went on to say I'm not joining without Stevie who was his then lover). Your comment is unwarranted, if a little ill-conceived. I was referring to the OC comment and the correlation of the relationships and break ups of Fleetwood Mac. I hope this is a learning experience to you.
@@herc_ules_therealone I was just saying that they wouldn't have fallen apart even if Nicks had left the band. I don't know what you're waffling on about, talking about learning experiences and whatnot. If anyone needs humbling, it's you.
@@imaxdigital7052 Of course you pretend to not know what I mean. The fact that you mentioned being humbled meant you did learn something. Now be a decent human and be on your way. I have no more time for people like you.

I wouldn't call myself a fan of the White Stripes, but I have a real soft spot for them after they played a show in Iqaluit, the capital of Canada's northern Nunavut territory. I can't say with absolute certainty, but I suspect they are the only major label act to have ever played a show there, and it was a big deal for the community. Jack and Meg showed a tremendous amount of respect to the Inuit that live there, both in playing the show and sitting with elders to hear stories of the people. They sure as heck didn't make much money doing a show for 600 people given the cost of getting there.
You gotta love people that are that generous with themselves.
This story is exactly why I love the white stripes and miss them so much
Yea. That Canada tour was AMAZING. HE EVEN PLAYED A cover of the traditional song, CATFISH BLUES, (HENDRIX,GOVT MULE also greatly cover this song) BUT JACK AND MEG, PLAYED THE SONG, ON A BOAT!! LIKE u could still see them from shore, but not hear that well. I'd give ANYTHING to hear the full version of Jack covering CATFISH blues. Warren Haynes in Gov't Mule covered that song...and just ripped on that song. Easily one of the best, guitarists still playing from another generation...
Damn I did not know that!!! My respect for them has grown tenfold after reading that, such a wonderful gesture by the band and their management team. I would like to think that they knew that what they would get in memories from that trip would outdo the type of money they would make playing to 3000 at Carnegie Hall.
When they were in Winnipeg for that tour they got on a city bus with a guitar and tambourine and played music for the riders on the way down to the Forks Market. They then found an old man busking and Jack and Meg played backup while he played lead and sang. So cool.
Under Great White Northern Lights was an EXCELLENT doc about that tour that I now need to re-watch.
It’s incredible that only two people can create that much sound.
Remember when The Black Keys were just two people?
I’m a drummer by trade and for the life of me, I can’t figure out the position Meg uses.

Those fierce looks Meg gives Jack while stomping that kick drum... What an intensity
This kind of energy could never be reproduced by any of Jack's other projects, and to me it's special for that reason
Spot on
I think Boarding House Reach its a return to that energy.
I agree. Whites Stripes Jack is the best Jack.

Each project has their own lil life. There own history. And story i love all the emotions u get in each
Meg is so captivating. Those poses and looks while playing Blue Orchid would melt Antarctica. This is also when her drumming really came into it's own; still ragged af and with the confidence that it still fits TWS like a glove. Man, I miss this band.
Yeh the old goat tryin to look all sultry and shit...
She's an old goat?? Are you 12?
I was thinking the same thing. Well put.
Her confidence and their connection is mesmerizing
Beautiful comment
I’m so glad The White Stripes were a part of my generation. Jack and Meg are a classic duo.
100% chemistry 100% pure 100% original 100% music genius. Best band in last two decades.
When all your riffs are recycled blues licks, I don’t think 100% original applies. They got some good songs though.

Five. Five decades.
"100% original" 😂
Over 20 of their songs are straight-up covers, and their riffs are even less original. Still a great band, but "original" is not the most apt word for them

Her drums are tuned great for this set!
This "Party of Special Things To Do" is one of the best live performances of any song fucking ever. White Stripes are pure rock and roll distilled into human form.
The riff is sooooo fuckin heavy with that octave pedal
I just keep coming back to watch it
just love the chemistry and energy when they performed.
I have reason to believe and am highly confident we are getting a reunion soon. Likely a surprise return at an award show and then an album or SOMETHING along that vibe. Mark my words.
They are both coked out of their gourd in this performance. I doubt a reunion is happening. Jack has said many times that Meg is not keen on the idea of being in the spotlight again and they don't even speak to one another. Have not for a long time.
Her hungry eyes tho..
They were a prefect musical combination.
@@shadcovert1160 that would wicked. Maybe it’s possible what with their greatest hits album coming out.
I don't care what people say, that guy playing guitar's style perfectly compliments Meg White's drums.
Jack White^
Knows the drummers name but not literally the lead singer and guitarist!?
You know who had a good guitarist to compliment their playing?... This British cat named I think Ringo Starr or something like that.
I agree @Lee. I think its intentional. Its also the beauty of music, and what the music says is the real thing. With influences that he attunes to, Jack is a connoisseur of his style. He is a conduit when he plays. Meg's "barebones" style of drumming just further kicks in the attitude. Knocking down your front door type, that's the White Stripes.
Love megs drumming
Meg is an incredible drummer, she has something that other great drummers don't, which is she looks Jack in the eyes and they jam together.
Spot on and I wouldn’t have thought of that 😊
People instantly hate on this type of thing but she was exactly what was needed. People will say that’s demeaning? Or maybe I’m projecting but it’s like the Beatles and Ringo. It’s like who the fuck cares what you’re capable of, are you capable of making this song better? And she did make all the songs better
Having regrets of never seeing these two live, how amazing is it to have an intimite recording like this? Please save this forever. do not delete!
the shot in the second song where meg is over jacks shoulder and they're both in focus is just one of the coolest things i've ever seen
good eye, dude!
Incredible. Agreed.
the hate on Meg was so awful, her drumming and character were always EXACTLY what these songs needed. There were two people in this band and the songs needed both of them.

Same I came back for another listen.
Every time I watch this it's brand new.
This time it's all about Meg. I can't think of another artist who embraces the whole song and contributes so much.
God Bless Meg, she's the best. And Jack never sounded better then when they played together.

I've enjoyed some of the songs from Jack's solo albums, but he hasn't sounded quite right without Meg whenever I hear his newer live stuff. The closest is with Daru on Saturday Night Live--that's the closest any drummer has been to getting to this energy.
She is like a sonic bore straight from one’s ears into the auditory cortex. It so perfectly compliments Jack’s jagged, abrasive riffs. Zero frills, pure intensity. I would kill for a drummer like that. So unfortunate they don’t play together anymore.

this version of "Red Rain" is the single reason why i love the song. dude, they go so hard
You couldn't replace Meg with anybody. It's more than what she is drumming. She is what Flava Flav is to chuck d. She hypes the whole show up.
Not too mention the sex appeal licking her lips and her flirty demeanor
Yep. It's not only what you play, it's how you play it !!
That is a brilliant analogy.
She sucks as drummer? Yes. But that made white stripes and no one could ever replace her
This is probably one of my favorite performances. The energy this gives off with all the songs, and I keep looking at Meg just killing it on the drums and Jack being a great guitarist, singer and songwriter
I love it so much, Jack is an absolute creative genius, Meg is a goddess, they both just go so well with each other. I love The White Stripes, they are eternally iconic and their genius will never be forgotten ❤️🤍🖤
I've always loved that Little Ghost song more than I could explain, and seeing their energy together and the fun of it explains it plenty
Second song I learned to play on my ukulele. Obviously I can't play it like Jack, but I love it still.
Me sitting here hoping this was some sort of reunion performance, then I saw the date in the description... I can still dream.

Everyone here loves The Stripes and it feels cool to connect with and see people that appreciate and miss them like I do. I still go back and thru all the records from time to time. In the world today everybody gets criticized if you aren't the 'greatest' something. Every drummer gets compared to about five drummers, every guitarist gets compared to about five guitarists, every singer has to be as good as five performers. Its crazy, I thought social media would go the opposite direction, but maybe the tiktok generation will change that. Ours is too used to record companies choosing a few bands, engineering and producing them to daeth, and thats what all music is compared to. Nobody can just listen and go "thats nice" and be happy with good music, it has to be the greatest thing ever. Certainly thats the impression you get off youtube. Although frankly I wasn't listening hard:)

I love how people forget that The White Stripes origin was Garage Rock, a genre that has not real interest about technicalities. Sure Jack White was a prodigy whose technique makes you think "You're overqualified for this job", but he was also a nobody before TWS; he could arguably have stayed as one of the bunch, if it wasn't for Meg. They've inspired each other and they had chemistry, more that we could ask off many other bands.
@@Heigxion Exactly. Thank you. Well observed.
Im so happy I found this. Meg looks divine and she is so into it she’s amazing playing the drums Jack White is a perfectionist and it looks like a lot to be in his presence.
Love me some Stripes. Jack really marches to the beat of his own drum, which is a very rare thing. And he fills the space of three .
Wish this set was on spotify. It's really good!
Blue Orchid, one of my favorite tunes from this gig
Meg White is fucking dope. Ive been playing drums for 15 years and can honestly say her drum tone is perfect. The beats are simple but groove like hell.
It's not always about being perfect. It gives their groove an original, organic purity and all their own sound
I’m only very recently diving into the white stripes and this is the first live performance I’m watching.. the moment Meg started playing at the very beginning, all I could say was “I get it, I completely get it”. They’re on another level, seriously. They’re chemistry and the rawness of it all is just *chefs kiss*
Side note: One of my good friends started drumming ages ago specifically because of Meg and I think that’s so fucking cool
same here!
Thats rocking drum sound. Her playing rocks!
The camera angle with both Jack and Meg in the shot for Forever For Me is amazing. Like its straight out of a 70's movie
They had such great chemistry. They play off each other constantly. Fantastic performance.
I miss them so much ❤🤍🖤
Special band! Incredible sound from two people
Every update that it's in your channel it's a tiny little gift to me. Thank you so much.
The sound these two produced was so powerful
I love how they lean on each other for support the whole show. One of those deals where the sum is greater than the parts.
Essa banda nunca deveria ter acabado!
