MCA wrote directed and produced this while in the middle of fighting cancer, infinite respect for what that man accomplished and created
It’s always the legends that have to go :(
Yeah, I no longer have an excuse for anything.
This is the romancer beating off to cancer n I'm like mikyds loven shit
he had the right to party buddy hell yeah
"and for a moment I knew what it was all about." Mca
MCA died at 47, I just had my 48th. Dude accomplished so much, wish he was here for more. Love what you 3 did for culture beginning in the 80's, especially with me as a stupid little kid.
Me too
He was just 3 years older than me. I grew up in a small, rural, almost everyone white town. I started listening to rap, hip hop because I was a fiend for MTv. My first love was the Sugar Hill Gang. I used to play those songs on a boombox on the bus for a volleyball or basketball game. When these fools came on the scene, I loved it. I'm only 1:11 in but looking forward to this. Love to everyone still listening to old school rap and hip hop.
When I turned 33, I thought, "Wow, I'm as old as Jesus was when he died." Now that I've turned 47, I think, "Wow, I'm as old as MCA when he died."
How do you know that.... stars don't die we just stew until we shine
I can't believe I never saw this before. This is everything great all in one place.
I'm just seeing it now. Absolute love for the Beasties and the actors.
Anyone else instantly respect the actors in this more, just for being cool enough to be part of it?
The limouisin driver is the same guy in the red shirt... The music in the background in the restaurant scene is so nice.
I've never seen this but it looks hilarious with major actors. Susan Surandon always seems to be up for something foolish. I love her.
Yeah I love it! Jack Black, Will Ferrell, Maya Rudolph, and the guy who played Frodo is awesome! Tho the urinating on each other is gross.
@@capricedowsland3068 The guy who played Frodo...LOL
ME!! 🤘😉🖤
The Will Arnett/Gob Bluth "COME ON!!" reference with the expensive suit is SUCH an underrated gag here.
The best reference in the whole thing. So funny. COME ON!!
Omg! Yessss! I fell out of my chair laughing at that part. That was always one of my favorite parts of Arrested Development.
RIP MCA. RIP John Berry. You fought and died for our right to party. And we'll continue fighting in your honor.
A solemn yet celebratory thumbs up to you, good sir, for your fine comment - keep up the good fight.

I agree fully with Mr. Ord with my hat off, bowed head and Extremely Heavy heart. R.I.P. MCA
@Nate Groves
**tips Yours Truly's hat to you for remembering not only MCA, but also another member of the band who sadly has passed on**
the fact that the fight took place in front of paul's boutique is a wonderful tribute to the best album ever. Love BB for ever. RIP A. Yauch.
Love that MCA somehow managed to summon the physical strength to not only appear in this video, but also gave us countless “under the radar” references to to how the music industry truly works. 👊
He actually directed the whole video.
Only the Bestie Boys could borrow Hollywood to do something on this scale that's beyond economical sense. This is truly a work of art.
DAMN RRIGHT!!!
Oh hi, so we’re trying to put this thing together with the beasties and wondered, oh you’re already there.
I reckon more people have been asked to be in the vid but they rejected.
Bad career move. So many great people here. Morons if you didn't get in on this vid.
The Tribe ;)
This is genius. The greatest long-form music video of all time.
Surpassed only by Angel Dust being your avatar. One of the world's most under rated albums. As you well know.
Verbatim agree! Part of my inner soul is in that low camera shot. Walking around with my boom box.
i think you will find "THRILLER" is
Thriller @ the time brought music video's to everyone - it was a fairly new concept then
Karson Crawford No, Thriller is forever gonna hold the throne. :)
You are right. Thriller is the greatest. It changed music videos.
Moment of silence for the people that haven’t found this song yet.
That's why I'm about to send it to somebody who hasn't seen it yet, hopefully.
I love that it’s a collection of sooo many different people who have been affected by the beastie boys. I imagine a group of celebs just BEGGING to be in this video. And I think that’s pretty accurate.
I love the fact they did this when MCA was still alive. To pull this much star power you'd figure they did it as a tribute. The fact that they didn't just shows how badass The Beastie Boys really are
You're goddamn right!
Last video Yauch did as a beastie Boy.
@@matthewbittenbender9191 😢😢😢
well said!
MCA will be missed 4ever. Funny cast to play the Beasties
MCA looked so sick at the end man. Breaks your heart.
See you all in 16 years.
It’s crazy how grey his hair/beard got between his diagnosis and as seen here and elsewhere. But to quote the goat “I got more rhymes than I got grey hairs and that’s a lot cause I got my share”
How are you keeping a reminder when it's 25 years?
I was just thinking that.
Where is he? I don’t see him
@@Genny-Zee he is in police uniform at the end...
The sheer number of cameos in this, is STILL astounding.
God i cant believe this is 12 years old. Felt like i just watched this the other year , NOT over a DECADE AGO!!
"I think we can all agree we're on the same team here, and that's the no pie, no sledgehammer team." - Greatest line ever.
I've only seen the shorter version, everything makes way more sense now.
So many legends in one video. Can't believe I've never heard or seen this before.
As someone who was part of a generation that was shaped by music videos, I can honestly say that this is the most epic shit ever! Long live Beastie Boys... RIP MCA.

need 8k version of this with appropriate sound

This is such a perfect tribute to MCA. It might have been made a few years before he died but finding this now is too poignant a reminder of what was lost when he died. The fact that they got so many names and faces involved is testament to the greatness and influence of The Beastie Boys. RIP MC
Mongo Boogie MCA wrote it and directed it. He is also one of the cops at the end of the video.
Hello person from the past. MCA made this, therefore it's not really a tribute but I get what you mean
I come back to this video probably once a year. It is too awesome. Elijah Wood is easily my favorite part
Frodo baggin’s hits the streets
100% dope AF! Rogen, Wood, McBride, Danson, Sarandon, the Beastie Boys themselves and a plethora of other stars in often subtle cameos help make this MCA joint an epoch-making and eternal classic that hits on so many salient points its incredible. Absolutely amazing!
Damn... I've been a fan of the beastie boys when I was a little kid. I'm 47 now... still sooooo awesome!!!!

So many cameos and stars in a single 30min short film. Pure legends
There are no words…… the world is a MUCH better place for having the BBoys in it. I wish I could have thanked Adam in person for the award winning effort he put in. Nothing short of genius!
The quality of music they were making, after all those years, was fucking dope. The brand of actors in this film, including cameos, shows the respect they had as artists. And the level of comedy, the in-jokes, the film-making, show the sheer genius of Adam Yauch. One of my favourite ways to spend 30 minutes. Hope you're still out there somewhere Yauch

mmmmm
I love how the video isn't aiming for a deep meaning or making a point unlike many modern music videos, simply providing you with half an hour of continous hilarity, but the production value and the attention to details is absolutely stellar. The ending scene takes place on the cover of Paul's Boutique (check the shop fronts), the guy at 13:00 is actually MCA's video-directing alter-ego Nathaniel Hornblower (he crashed the stage at 1994 VMAs dressed exactly like that and claimed he wrote the script to Star Wars), Jason Schwartzman is cosplaying Van Gogh in reference to "Hey Ladies", Orlando Bloom is Johnny Ryall, and my favourite one - the restaurant they crash is called Chateu de Ted et Michel Dee (8:53), referencing the line from the very song they just performed - "Make Some Noise", in which Mike D claims he "opened up a restaurant with Ted Danson". The grey haired dude at the door of the place? You guessed it, Ted Danson. The coolest part is how discreetely and naturally they implement all these gags, instead of shoving them in your face. Fucking badass.
also the girls in the limo have "New Wave hairdos"
Jesus fucking christ, I never would've put that together.
chloe sevigny ( kids ) is the one who took the bottle of wine to AdRock's head..
They reached in the Miller cooler, grabbed a cool Bud.
