This feels like an opportune moment to make a personal comment on here (Martyn I hope you don’t mind), as watching this is such a nice reminder of what a brilliant, full day it was.
The point that doesn’t need saying, cos you can see for yourselves and I don’t want to sound too much like a southern softy, but nonetheless should be said, is what a superb, mellow, warm, funny, hard working and intelligent pair of guys Martyn and Paul are. A real pleasure to spend a day on the road with, and with great enthusiastic endurance and ability to cope with dehydration (and fuel shortages) in that heat, whilst staying safe and muscling those bikes around so many mountain passes (a lot of rallies are held on those roads, and they’re littered with shells of cars rusting at the bottom of cliffs, where the driver’s enthusiasm far exceeded their ability….they are beautiful roads, but you don’t wanna make even a small mistake anywhere on them).
But their calm modesty hides what brilliant, knowledgeable, experienced bikers they both are too. Even with an advantage of knowing the roads (well, mostly), and with that desert X (that I was hogging) being so capable…….their class was a vast step above mine.
Great bikes, great adventures, and people like these are what makes biking and banter so good.
Thanks both, and thank you to all the guys at Ducati Chelmsford too. A real pleasure, and very much worth it. Please keep doing what you do.
P.S. you wanna know about bikes, or what might be best for you, ask these guys…… and if you want a bike that does everything, is really easy to ride anywhere fast, looks after you and flatters your riding ability? It’s the desert X.

Ha well thanks Alan.. I think you held your own and at no point (well apart from when I’d thought I would have a little go😂😂) did we need to go any faster, we was at a good pace all day everyday we were out, you still always need to be safe on a bike, especially down roads like that and besides I was also trying to look around and enjoy the trips we had out, as i said in the video if it wasn’t for you getting in touch we wouldn’t of got to experience what we did.. and what an experience it was , memories we will all have , me and Paul both loved it, I think at times it was a bit overwhelming tbh, I have no idea how many bends we went around ?? I had a fabulous birthday…and also made some friends in yourself and Caroline.. and Harry :) in all these videos we have only shown a tiny fragment of the days we had and there’s still more to come! Hopefully mine and Paul’s enthusiasm does come across in our videos, and as with all the guys & girls at Ducati Chelmsford, when we do our videos, we all just love motorcycles , doesn’t matter if it’s a classic bike or the newest and best bikes out we enjoy them all and are very lucky to experience riding them and hopefully try to give everyone who watches them a little insight into the bikes and our experience of riding them all, and also an i Singh into us ..what many people don’t know, obviously with the help of Hyside motorcycles (Ducati Chelmsford), I started doing these videos to show some of the great bikes that are out there that are not accessible to everyone … and as they turned out, with the everyday banter and tea talks it seems to be working and people are enjoying them and that’s what makes it worth doing them ,we won’t stop.. we’ve only just started!! Also I’ve already got ideas for Next time we’re Down there so not only more of our ‘normal’ videos (if you can call them that😂) to come but we will do more of these trip series videos for sure!!

@@ProjectMoto can’t add to that - brilliant! And I hope so.
My sensible guess at the number of bends is somewhere easily around 2,000+.
I’ve already got 4 more routes in mind for when you want another round 😃…. And we’ll put the angry French kettle on

Awesome videos Martin....so good that my wife insisted that we visit the shop to look at an available Pikes Peak, she only went and bought it for me, so just awaiting the call to say its ready for collection........so excited OMG! Really enjoyed meeting the team. Keep up with the videos and hopefully with all the bikes you've helped sell for Ducati they deliver you your very own Pikes Peak!!!
