- Plant your keister on The Big Orange Couch, dim the lights down low, put down the clicker, and bask in the glow of late night Nickelodeon television shows because it's Saturday night, and that means it's time to SNICK.
This is a compilation video I put together using footage of commercials and episodes from shows that played on Saturday nights (from eight at night to ten) on Nickelodeon's SNICK block in 1994. Certain shows (like The Ren & Stimpy Show, Clarissa Explains It All, and many episodes of Are You Afraid of the Dark?) can't be used for copyright reasons. These shows were substituted with other great shows that played on SNICK around the same time. Think of it as a retro remix or a bootleg Saturday night broadcast.
This is the forty-eighth video I've made like this, and the second SNICK one. Right off the bat, I'll point out that instead of an episode of Clarissa Explains It All, I used the unsold pilot to Clarissa Now. Clarissa Now was a planned sequel series to Clarissa Explains It All, following the adventures of an adult Clarissa, but it wasn't picked up and only the pilot was ever made. I had reservations about putting it in the video, but since it is a continuation of the original Clarissa series, I decided to go for it. It also took a bit of time to find an episode of Are You Afraid of the Dark? that's actually uploadable, as most of them get blocked in the US, but fortunately I was able to find one (otherwise, this video wouldn't have happened). I hope you get a kick out of watching this video, as I had fun putting it together.
Disclaimer: I do not make any money or accept any donations for these videos. I make them in my free time as a hobby, out of a love for old television, and because they're the kinds of videos I would like to be able to watch on CZcams. If you see CZcams ads (not commercials) on this video, that's because this video was copyright claimed by a variety of different companies, who chose to run ads on my video for their own profit. I also do not make these videos for children, but for adults like myself who are nostalgic for their childhoods. If the comments are disabled on this video or another like it, it's because CZcams set it as "for children." And that's the end of that disclaimer.

This episode of Are You Afraid of the Dark was the one that creeped me out the most as a kid. Thanks once again for the nostalgia 🖤
Yes, this episode gived me chill everytime. It's my favorite tale!
@@moon230686I think it was the sight of a child's face being on a tombstone that really got to me st that age.
No the one with the spectacles is the scariest. That one is pure panic mode.
@@notmytruthTHEtruth Yes!!! That one with the spectacles had that "real scary, but could happen to you" feel to it😬 I won't even watch it as an adult! 😬
terrifying episode
It’s the commercials that makes the nostalgia hit harder
seriously the only time I don't mind commercials. The nostalgia is crazy its legit like I'm 12 again sitting in the living room at home lol
@@kevinpimento517 Shits crazy

I'd love to find these snacks n drinks n watch this vid
Faxxxx!!!!
Ok, I had to look. That "Clarissa" episode was a one-off pilot. I was about to lose my mind, because I had no recollection of this spin-off series.
Thanks for that. I thought it mightve been the series finale because it looks so.... different.
In retrospect, it's a little staggering that TV networks were able to make programming blocks feel like a special event to me. Nickelodeon was just putting two hours of programming together, but somehow throwing it together under the banner of a made-up word like SNICK changed the dynamic for me in my formative years.
See also: Must-See TV, One Saturday Morning, The Disney Afternoon, etc.
Just goes to show how little they care now. :(
GodEmperor Mac Tonight that’s not really the case everything is so instant with streaming
@@youngcity4241 what does that matter to the people who still watch cable tho?
SNICK & TGIF, the best TV blocks of all time 🥹🥹
Waking up to 'One Saturday Morning' and ending the night with Snick was everything in those days.
So much better than the kids shows today on nickelodeon.
A-freakingmen!!
This is crazy. I'm 37 years old and your channel is a godsend.
Oh hell yes they dont come often but they always good 10/10
I just said the same thing.. only exchanging hell for f***! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Its hard to believe that pilot for Clarissa was only ever shown twice on Nickelodeon and someone posted it all these years later.
I was born in 1994, and even though I don't remember this, it still feels like I've been brought back in time in the best way. Something about television during this time period was so special. Everything moves so fast nowadays, but this television program like many others during that time feels more "slowed down" if that makes any sense. The dialogue is slower, the plot is slower, even the ads are slower paced and longer. It's comforting in a way I can't explain. I'm fully immersed.
I don't know if I wish life were still like the mid 90s or not, but man is it fun and a breath of fresh air to visit the time for a while. Thanks for uploading this.
I used to watch these shows with my Grandfather on Saturday nights. He’s gone now, and I remember the convos and the feeling of bliss those times gave me. These videos give me those feelings back. Thank you
I hate (love) how even after almost 30 years, I still remember the commercials, the theme songs even the plots to the episodes! I just… man I miss my childhood. Thanks. Really
So glad you're back to doing the SNICK line up. Love this and the Saturday morning stuff. It's my favorite from this channel. Can't wait to watch this
I don't think I remember seeing the adult Clarissa episodes. Also that "U to U" commercial asking kids to submit their ideas and then Nickelodeon owns the rights to it, is insane. We really just gave them possible great ideas for shows for FREE!
Lol
About this episode in particular, "wow", that's a hostile work environment if I ever seen one. As an intern you're already working for free but to then be constantly belittled. Bruh!
That predatory practice is as old as TV media. It's even happening to this day behind the facade of art contests.
The Clarissa spin-off had only one episode, I think. Yeah, we promote other people's works and perpetuate their greatness--not our own--for free just by posting videos, blogs or comments about them. Somebody should do something about that. #1613Sharing. ;)
@@negativeanthony Thus was the only episode. The show had legs. It had potential but it was being sold to the wrong audience.
I believe that the show runners were trying to jump on the train of teen stars becoming young adults.
Around the same time Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Family Maters, and other shows popular cast members were moving on to college or starting careers in their respective shows and we're still hits. Nickelodeon was not the right host for a show like this. Could have easily been sold to NBC or ABC and been successful. Would of been an awesome fit for TGIF or Must See TV in '95.
@@flashthompson1085 it was actually a pilot for NBC who passed on it. And if this would have been a success TGIF would have never gotten one of its biggest hits, Sabrina. Which is an even bigger part of Melissa’s career than Clarissa.
SNICK might be one of my all-time favorite programming blocks. It genuinely felt special to me back then, and I was right in the target age group.
I know it’s tough but def keep snick coming maybe with all that, Kenan and kel, are you afraid of the dark
What in the Mandela Effect Clarissa Explains it all was that. Epic Pete and Pete most underrated show ever made. Thank you very much for this trip. Snick during Halloween was the best
I had to look it up, it was actually a pilot for a cbs spinoff that didn't get picked up but aired a couple times on nick after the original series had ended.
@@tjrobinson5241 interesting
No way this was in my timeline
@@thomasferraiuolo8358 yeah I don’t remember this at all.
The last great decade
Pete & Pete had some awesome music
Thanks for this 2 hour time machine
These make me happy and sad at the same time. I miss the 90s
I always wondered why those ICS college from home courses wasted their advertising money on Nickelodeon blocks. 😂 By the time we were old enough to actually enroll it was defunct. Hmm… wonder why? Such competent use of funds. Love this channel, by the way! Bless you!
Man I would love a marathon like this that includes kenan and kel
An adult Clarrisa?! Wow, no way. Us Brits never got this series. 😩 Thanks for the uploads.
Brings me back to visiting my grandparent's house in the Summer and watching Nickelodeon on their tv. Since we didn't have cable in my own home at this point, it was a special treat, and sometimes we even got to sleep over. Ahhh, I really miss them. Thanks for the burst of memories, Rinse :)
I too had those summer days at my grandparent's house, watching Nick. Saturday nights after dinner, watching SNICK. These memories make me nostalgic with a bit of méloncolie, but they're comforting too. I'm grateful to have been fortunate enough to have had these experiences.
@@john_dillermand Life is beauty
@@john_dillermand Thanks for for sharing! I always love reading these kinds kinds of posts from others
Same here. Stayed at the grandparents binging cable every chance I got lol.
I don’t see any blocks of TGIF anywhere, would be cool to see !!!
glad you're back again dude, can't wait to see more mashups of 80's & 90's Saturday morning+nights from you soon!
Your channel is so freaking awesome...especially being a 90s kid, I hope your channel is never deleted .
I always forget Steve Buscemi was Ellen’s Dad. Thanks again for the awesome nostalgia trip, it’s just like watching tv from that time period all over again. It’s almost like you’ve created a vehicle for time travel.
Awwwww those sweet sweet memories. The first show in this awesome SNICK block was actually called “Clarissa” instead of Clarissa explains it all”. I think it only lasted a season, if that. This was the first episode of that show about Clarissa being all grown up in NYC.
I'm so old now ..... things that i love now depress me but i love this upload anyway i was just saying today I NEED to get away to better times....and here i am....
I memorized the roundhouse dance moves as a kid lol good times.
Truly the most underrated gem on CZcams this channel is
You have no idea how much it means to me seeing all these plus commercials and opening and closing segments. I had no idea Clarissa explains it all had a pilot for a spin off. Thank you for doing this.
I love this.
I grew up watching old cable TV and it was awesome.
Thanks for the memories. 😎👍
Thank you so frigging much
Thank you so much for the videos especially on a Saturday night! Some of the best times and best feelings during this time!
I remember that Pete and Pete episode, but I didn't realize that was Steve Buscemi and the traffic guard smoking lol.
Thank you so much for these. They're such a treat!
_I watched this faithfully as a kid. Wow. Nostalgic._
back when tv and life both seemed simpler
I miss being a kid . I saw this as a new episode back in the 1990s. SNICK
"I hope you don't scare easy..." Haha so classic.
Just when I thought I was out, you pull me back in!!!!
You're the best for this. Love SNICK.🛋️
All these decades, and I only just now was able to see the 'Clarissa Now' pilot! It was pretty good!
Thank you for that!
So much fun! I used to wait for Saturday night. Snacks blanket and it always ended with are you afraid of the dark. Saturdays were the bestb
I did not remember Clarissa in college!?!?!?
Love the fact that you uploaded this staying true to the original airdate in June, watching with commercials brings back so many memories thank you for the little bit of history repeating During that time era I was just 7 going on 8 I truly miss those days and Saturday nights📺 🍊🛋🧡
My Saturday night, tonight, thanks 👍
I was 9yo in ‘94. I loved this stuff 😂
i was Ten, what a great summer 93-94 was.
Yesssss inject me with that sweet sweet nostalgia!!!
The 90,s were great time to grow up in some of the best show,s on TV
I could cry thanks for up loading
thank you
Not sure how I found this , but I'm so glad I did.
Are you afraid of the dark was definitely my favorite show as a kid, but I can't not mention Clarissa & her pet alligator & Animorphs plus Pete & Pete, Action League, Hey Arnold! & Not to mention Rugrats, as well as the awesome world of Alex Mack plus Doug.❤️❤️❤️😍
Oh yes the Snick lineup rinse repeat you are my favorite CZcamsr dude keep pouring on the goodness you are truly doing the Lord's work
I haven’t watched Round House since probably 1994, thanks for conjuring up the memories ✌️ SNICK was a huge cornerstone of my youth for sure
I didn't remember it feeling like such an after school special. Every sketch had way too on the nose morals.
Snick is the best
Wow thanks! Never knew there was a Clarissa pilot! Never seen this MJH before
My childhood
I got every broadcast you put out the past couple years, Inc the copyrights (which are obv the best). Thank you immensely for bringing it back. You never know who this effort touches
At this moment I am not in my 30s with two kids I am about 8 or 9 in my pajamas eating popcorn and drinking hot chocolate. 😂
Dude I had no idea about this Clarissa pilot, thanks for choosing it!
Yayyy more episodes with commercials thank you for uploading this❤️
Long time no see, dude.
SNICK was truly a great contender
had such a crush on Melissa Joan Hart back in the day
This makes me cry. I was in my 30’s and worked every weekend to be with my 2 girls during the week. Every Saturday Night I would get off work and we’d make a night of it with snacks and SNICK. Now they’re in their 30’s 😭
Im in my 30s, working every weekend.
TIL Steve Buscemi was in Pete and Pete
A lot of big names cameoed on P&P. I remember specifically seeing Iggy Pop, and Adam West, on there.
Chris Elliott, LL Cool J, Selma Blair, Debbie Harrie, Michael Stipe, Frank Gifford as well.
I am soooo happy to see this. Thank you!!!
Thank you so much for this
I have never seen this Clarissa episode til now and I love it. It take off of the very last episode of Clarissa
Hey guys who remembers that show these to come on call The Tomorrow People? Because I do
how come i watched nick everyday back then and never heard of clarissa now?
Thanks for all your work-really enjoy these a ton :)
Thank you!!!!
Amazing work as always!
Absolute perfection!
Happy 30th SNICK
Thank you alot
the biggest banger so far, I loved snick!
I wanna have a watch party of this channel with friends that I don’t have yet 😂 Do I even make sense?! A nostalgia party 🎈🥰🥲😅
Thank you so very much
Man, I always preferred Roundhouse to All That and hated that it replaced Roundhouse. The humor felt more clever to me back then and the cast had a lot of talent, skill, and good timing. It also introduced me to improv style comedy. I surprisingly remembered this ep’s theme and I haven’t seen this show since it originally aired!
Awesome to see another cartoon/TV block added to the lineup. Hope to see more eventually. Perhaps some more Nick episodes.
thank you for making these!
Smoking on Pete & Pete, these are the OG shows. Steve bucemi on Pete and Pete too.
You are a treasure for uploading these.
Thanks so much for putting these up, these are the the greatest
Thank you. 🖖🏼🦅📺
damn i didn't even realize someone had an actual line up of SNICK Saturday night. Kudos
lol, that clarissa episode was super weird - it didn't seem like a NYC paper but a small town paper, the "big time writer" writes puff piece human interest stories
appreciate you uploading Snick lineups!👍
that roundhouse dance routine just made my 2022 Saturday night
I NEEDED THIS SO MUCH AND YOU JUST POSTED!!! OMG!!!!
Thank you for the upload! Always a treat to see these show up in my subs
Glade you’re back!
Home sick today and REALLY appreciative of this. 🧡📺
what I would give to spend just one day as a kid back in the 90s again.
ty so much
