    Great video. For not being tutorial, you did a damned fine job of explaining everything.
    The _Cuban Music_ doesn't work for when sharpening. I start drinking Mojitos, smoking cigars and end up dancing in the driveway with my neighbor's _Abuela._ Then I forget I need to shave and have to start again in the morning.

    I know this isn't a tutorial, but this is one of the best tutorials I've found so far! Thanks Mike.

    Refreshing to see someone flip the razor correctly. Too many CZcams sharpeners flip the razor or knife improperly, rolling the over.

    How much pressure are you applying, if any?

      @@CrazySharp Roger that. I sharpen knives professionally on stones but no razors yet. I was just given one so I’ve been watching you, thank you.

    Baking soda in the water explain why please

    • @CrazySharp
      @CrazySharp  Před rokem +1

      I am 100% sure I did but it lowers the ph of the water and prevents the carbon steel from rusting as easily

    • @bobbyscalchi4013
      @bobbyscalchi4013 Před rokem +1

      Prohibits flash rust with any iron or steel. Conversely you can also remove rust with a vinegar soak just no more than an hour or the steel or iron will discolor and you will have to polish the metal. (Honestly if there is rust you should polish it and the pits it leaves behind anyway.)

    I have never see any make a slurry, or advocate, making a slurry, on a whet stone before.

    • @CrazySharp
      @CrazySharp  Před rokem

      That’s because these are water stones not whet stones … whet stones use oil

    • @CrazySharp
      @CrazySharp  Před rokem +2

      Also if you watch anyone talk about sharpening on Japanese water stones they absolutely tell you build a slurry and maintain it

    About how many shaves should I expect before next time doing this again? I'm new to straight razors.

    • @CrazySharp
      @CrazySharp  Před 2 lety +2

      4-6 months depending on how well you maintain the edge on a strop and keep it clean and dry

    I think you should learn the use of emulsions and pastes before giving wrong tips! You are very far from an expert Lol😸🙉🙈😵
