13 Bolt Action Battle Report: US Army vs German Grenadiers and Pioneers, Normandy 1944

- George returns to the Ministry again this week for another Bolt Action battle report using his Perry Miniatures US Army. This time my grenadiers enlist the help of some German assault pioneers to help drive back the US army, and seize as many objectives as possible.
Set in a Normandy farmstead, the two
Armies go head to head to seize objectives and win the battlefield.
Playing an adaptation of scenario 3 from the rule book, key positions. The objectives are positioned to force the armies to engage in combat and makes for a fun, fast and furious game.
Another stunning battle to take the area in a farm near a small french village in Normandy.
The battle board is 6x4ft using the Deep Cut Studios grass mat, an abundance of scenery from buildings and ruins through to hedges and fence lines.
This report covers some of the dynamics of the game, being George’s second battle we talk through some of the elements of the game… but who will win, watch and see!
Miniatures are from both Warlord Games and Perry Miniatures at 28mm, with a mix of both plastic and metal. #warlordgames #boltaction

Haha, yes he is brilliant… I left that in as he spent half the battle between my legs! The other half he is either throwing a toy or wanting to run outside… you can probably hear him sometimes!

Hi!! Good battle report!! I have a question: What company are the American models from?
George invested in the Perry American Infantry, they are really nice! I have Warlord stuff, which are slightly bigger with bigger features… but on the table you can’t really see any difference. He also painted them well so they are very nice 👍🏻

Are you playing battlefield ambient sounds or do you live near a fighter base?
Hi, yes I play battlefield ambient noise in the background whilst we play, adds to the effect, need to make sure it’s not too loud though!

Shouldn’t the sniper been killed on a 6? Does the building not giving him a +1 protection?
Hi, my understanding is that snipers ignore cover, so no bonus for the barn… and snipers that make a wound is treated as a critical hit, so killing on a 5 is a critical hit so the team is removed, but if you definitely know this is incorrect please let me know the rule page number as I want to make sure we get it correct. 👍🏻
@@theministryofminiatures I looked it up and you are right. HE shells, snipers and flamers ignore the “extra protection special rule”.
