  • A look over Steve Jackson and Ian Livingstone's Out of The Pit. A Fighting Fantasy Monster reference guide. A bestiary of creatures that roam the world of Titan. The 1980's had two releases of this monster encyclopaedia. One in 1985 the other in 1989. Both the same but different sizes.
Are you ready to find what comes OUT OF THE PIT?

I have the 1989 edition of this. I’d like this first version, but I’ll make do with the PDF to view the coloured illustrations.
Now I just need to find Mage Hunter and Deathmoor at reasonable prices to complete my collection of the original Puffin gamebooks. So probably never then 🤣

I just found mine this past summer going through my old childhood stuff. I think i dumped it. Loved Fighting Fantasy.

A couple years ago I was able to find Dungeoneer and Advanced Fighting Fantasy stuff before the prices jumped up. I found a copy of the smaller version of this one, but could never find the large version, or a copy of Alansia. I would recommend Advanced Fighting Fantasy second edition by Arion games if you do any role playing. It's fast and fun. Thanks for the video.

I actually won my Out of the Pit in a competition back in 1985. I can’t remember what the competition involved but I was pretty pleased with myself!

Great book. Unfortunately my large version was pilfered. Still have the pocket version though. Disappointed they never did a sequel for the rest of the Fighting Fantasy books.

£3.95 was a lot of money back in the day and I couldn’t afford this as I could get 2 game books for the same price. I did buy the Titan book that was a similar design as that had a lot more interesting content.
