- Jujutsu Kaisen is easily one of the most overrated anime I’ve ever seen in my life, and I was genuinely shocked at how highly rated it is and how often I was recommended to watch it. It’s boring, mid, and only appeals to fake anime fans.

1) Horrendous and rushed pacing
2) Lots of characters with 0 subplots and development = you end up not caring about them
3) Misery for the sake of misery, for shock value. There’s not build up to it, characters die and you don’t care, the story moves on like nothing happened
What ‘saves’ jjk is the animation, the hot character designs and its delusional fanbase (I can’t believe how overhyped this show is). After the manga ends this year, rushed as always, videos like this will age like fine wine. And before saying “oh, sounds like you don’t like shounen then”, no, that’s not the case. I know that a lot of shounen suffer from the things I listed, but GOD, jjk takes the first place award on this. Especially on the surface level character writing. If your characters feel artificial, and you’re unable to make the viewer care for them, you’re doing something wrong.

I think you can't handle dark and depression anime( i don't watch your video, because the title piss me off). Jjk is the show that have no mercy, no talk no jutsu, no annoying and stupid characters, no fair fights, there aren't many flashbacks but we can understand the characters, no power of friendship ( in jjk more people more fits, that's realistic) and there is no unscientific strength increase like adult gon. And the plot amors in jjk is negativ plots( almost every plot in jjk will connect in the future. Jjk plot amor is not free like other anime: almost nonsence plot. I'm a manga reader) not like demon slayer( plot amors every where): innosuke standing after demon stab his heart( like wtf). The villains in ss2( especially mahito, sukuna and fake geto) is true menace and smart. And the almost characters development is deep. This show maybe not peak but is good and unique.

I like the parts of JJK, but the WHOLE and the parts that matter, IS SO NOT THERE. Like a story to give two craps about. I think the world and the POWERS are very interesting. I like the explanation of how curses are made was cool. BUT then second season was like... YEAH, we're going to be like any other horror cross shōnen anime out there, and a poop ton of monsters. Also, is this just a Japan only issue? What's the scale on this? US comics also have these issues. DC was better at globalizing everything, where Marvel was weirdly locked down to NYC, which then didn't make sense since there are like 1,000 heroes part of like 100 different hero factions, so how isn't NYC like the safest city in the WORLD? Also, all the characters are annoying and emo. Like they were purpose made for Hot Topic.

I've been trying to get through it too. I Keep getting to the part where the MC gets his heart ripped out and just drop it. I hate nonsense plot armor infested stories. It has so many tropes in just the first couple of episodes. I did a quick search on youtube to see who is hyping it up and of course we have the unusual candidates.
