Hi Shane, if you accidentally made a neck to thin, could you make a finger board a bit thicker to compensate? Thanks for uploading, keep up the great work 😊👍
Hey great question! So if the neck is made too thin at this stage, you'd think a thicker fingerboard would fix the problem. However, you need to keep the bridge height in mind. If the fingerboard is only a tiny bit thicker, the strings would be that much higher above the bridge causing all sorts of unfixable intonation and action issues.
@@Klesh I see, thanks for the info. I can definitely understand that, I’m used to building things out of metal (not guitars 🤣) but I guess you could possibly glue a veneer to the neck to increase the thickness? Still just a thought? 👍
@@Clintreid75 so if you glue a veneer to the back of the neck then it can technically be done however it would not be the original intended turn out for the instrument so unfortunately that's not an option. Right now these instruments are still Proto types so I could probably do it and get away with it for now that I'm thinking about it
The angle of the strings coming off the nut can be debated there's a point of failure right there. I've never had it happen but in theory it's the weakest part of the string. I think. Other than that, just aesthetics.
Love these vids. Thanks for sharing!
Sick dude you are learning and teaching us alot at same time
Always a learning experience doing this stuff even after 20 years of doing it 👍
Nice work my friend.... Not sure I can afford one of those in retirement, unless I sell a few that I have!

Is there an advantage to having straight strings? Very nice shop and work!
