If they make a Sing 3, Moon should be the villain. Constantly lying, things CONVIENTLY working out in his favor every time, he'd probably get a massive ego boost. Next movie he should go "tyrant" and have to be shown the error of his ways and that everything before was a VERY rare and lucky coincidence. Maybe he'd say "everything will work out alright, because of 'moon magic' no matter how bad things are now, they will work out!"
Now that would be the kind of Sing sequel I would enjoy seeing!
And mike the mouse comes back and saves the day because he is mike the mouse.
@@racquelia Along with his wife and his bear mafia.
You realty think the writers would be clever enough to write a movie with that premise? Just have cute animals sing pop songs and make profit.
Ikr Buster didn't learn a thing from the first movie🤦
I found the scene with Porsha’s talent reveal and Moon’s dismissiveness heart-warming in a sense. Even when the perfect scapegoat to Rosita’s fear of heights problem is revealed, he doesn’t even think about offering Porsha the part. It really feels like he really cares about Rosita as an actor and a friend and wouldn’t throw her to the wayside, even for an opportunity of this caliber. Despite Porsha being given the part anyway, Moon was against it and even asked Rosita if it was ok before making the switch.
Yeah that’s what I liked about this scene! It reminded me of how he could’ve had the camel from sing 1 but switched to Johnny afterwards. This to me seems like a character development but idk. Thanks for the perfect description of the scene!
You forgot to sin the fact that the flamingos were singing "Cake by the Ocean" in a kid's movie. Just so ya'll know, that song is *NOT* talking about actual cake, and the "frosting" is something else...... oh and I love how Buster says that the thugs will beat him and his friends to a pulp, even tho Buster literally has a gorilla, a lion and an elephant in the room with him, those three alone should be able to obliterate what is literally only two thugs. XD
This!
I fucking knew that sing shouldn't have been there!
For real an elephant would of been able to crush his guards
They also put My name is by eminem in there. Even if for 2 seconds.
To be fair, Johnny and especially Meana, aren't exactly the fighting type.
I felt so much for Clay. Having your passion fueled by someone you lose is one of the worst heartbreaks. It's losing two loves at once and is more than enough to break someone. Ash meeting her hero and showing him that just because the woman was dead didn't mean his love for her or his passion for music had to die also was such an incredibly adult theme for an kids' movie and they pulled it off perfectly. When they're doing the final song together and he steps aside to let her take the center stage and the spotlight it was such a great moment. He was acknowledging her as the future and the star and made the show simultaneously his return and the passing of the torch. It had its flaws, but I absolutely loved this movie.
I was genuinely crying over that part of the film it hits me so hard and I have no idea why.
I also love when Rosalita is understandably afraid to jump during the song Break Free but then she sees Buster is falling and saves him. She's a very caring person and if there's anyone who would overcome their fear to save someone they care about it would be her.
How does Miss Crawley not get AT LEAST 5 sins off for going all drill Sargent? I swear when Buster left her in charge, she would let things fall apart... but NO! She just took NO CRAP! I found it hilarious!
Yep, especially telling Darius off as well, I enjoyed that.
She's hilarious, especially for me having a mom who was a piano teacher.
That crane lift makes it 10 times better than it already was
I know it's got flaws.
But I also unironically love the entire 3rd act.
It's just.... fun.
This movie is a masterpiece for the third act alone! That doesn’t mean the other half can’t save the movie cause it really did.
As a theater lover that 3rd act had me squealing and grinning
@@TheSuperMarioBrosMovieFan2003 Our standards for what's considered a "masterpiece" have really sunken, haven't they?

Two reasons why a light switch might be pushed down to turn a light one.
1) The electrician accidentally installed it upside-down. (this actually happened to us)
2) It's a two-way light switch with switches on both sides of the room. This is common in hallways.
In Denmark it is down to turn lights on.
So take that sin off baby
Grew up in a house with a double switch
It is actually called a three way switch and a single normal switch is called a two way switch.
It's down to turn on in the uk.
lol americans thinking their way is standard for the whole world. Switches always go down to turn on in Europe
I will say, my favorite scene is where Clay comes down after hearing his song played by the porcupine.
He said earlier that his wife inspired all of his songs.
Which means, that he likely wrote that song while Ruby was sick, and her health was in decline.
He was doing it to try and help his wife feel better when she got stuck in the moment of her diagnosis.
And having that song be repeated back to him changes the context of how his wife would have reacted to him, stuck in the moment of her death.
It's just such a well-written QUIET scene that gives weight to the emotional pain that man went through.
So much you forget that the entire point of Ash playing it was to get his consent (post-writing) to play his songs and commit a couple misdemeanors/possible felonies.
"ThE pOrCuPiNe"
Her name is Ash.
I never thought I'd ever be a gatekeeper, yet here I am.

Let's hope he wrote I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For before he met his wife lol. Or maybe U2 exists in this universe and that was a cover.
I haven't seen this movie.....But I'm already convinced that having a Walrus as a Carpenter is about as smart and funny as it gets
Is that like an Alice in wonderland reference

I would recommend it, most of the jokes aren't my type of humor but there were some touching moments and I thought the soundtrack was great.
Can we talk about Calloway's desing for a moment? Goddamn, this design is amazing, even better than the lion in Zootopia.
To be fair, 5 years can do a lot for technology. Promise you give it a couple more and Calloway is going to get upstaged too.

The last sin and wink of Clay were in sync 15:41
To be fair I have some lights that have two switches that control the same lights so, some lights do turn on by swapping down.
Quite literally the lights for my stairs, switch at the top and the bottom of the stairs.
I do as well. But the ones that do have only one switch, switch on with down.
literally all the lights I know turn on by pressing down. Is it a country/region thing?
@@PanzerSoul I live in Ireland and all my lights are like that, but the switches look very different, so my guess is it is a region thing.
There called three way switchs.
The sequel is better than the original. It's heart warming, kinda terrifying and takes characters from stereotypes to likeable characters (Porsha for example). And Clay Calloway is adorable and I feel comfort every time he's on screen! Also, I like they didn't do "the shy awkward girl falls for the famous guy" trope. And Mina and her new boyfriend are adorable

Maybe she has little caps on them to keep from poking people. I don't remember her actually using them as a weapon in the movies but maybe she does.
14:58 - Aww. Even when sinning a movie, Jeremy and Sinny still have tact enough to be mindful of the feelings of a fictional character. THAT is worth a sin-removal in my book. (reverse-ding -1 sin)
It's not my favourite movie, but I did like Nooshy, and honestly Porsha grew on me. Yes, she's spoiled, but of course she is. She has a father that spoiled her rotten and he had the means (and sheer psychopathy) to give her basically whatever she wanted. She's not used to being told 'no' and defaulted to a 'cry to daddy to get my way'. I don't think she'd ever really seen much of his true nature, and didn't realize or know what it would feel like to be on the receiving end of his ire. In spite of that, she's actually did grow as a person to an extent, and moved on from being 'daddy's little girl'. She'd definitely still have some lingering issues and preconceptions, given how she was raised, but it seems that at her core she's actually a talented, happy, friendly, and helpful sort of person, she just hadn't had anyone that took her seriously, recognized her abilities, and expected her to be able to live up to those expectations. Basically, she'd never really been treated like a real person, and an adult besides, as opposed to a treasured pet.
Totally. I loved seeing her "shining moment." Couldn't act worth anything, and she was the villain's daughter, but they still found a place for her in their show that fit her talents. And she was having so much fun and happiness singing and trapeze-ing or what ever that would be called.
Very true, the movie really showed that Mr Crystal was truely a toxic father who didn't appreciate his daughter.
I love Porsha’s arc so, so much!!!
I also liked Porsha, the voice actor Hasley made her sound fun Instead annoying. Her performance near the end is amazing.
Ehh it seemed o me like her and her father had issues and she wasn't really spoiled. Like she more simply didn't know how to communicate other than those ways you mentioned and that she did legitimately have talents. That ironically she did have talents and was worried she was gonna fail and be exactly the spoiled child everyone thought she was. TBH moon should have realized earlier that he could have given her one of the specific planets instead and it would have worked better. He kinda does this later but it should have been obvious and worked with the needs of the theatere
13:17 Well, now I know why this movie is rated PG.

Honestly the setting of this movie being a mix of Vegas and Broadway is an interesting concept that could definitely get explored
They could've explored in the movie if the writers weren't dragging their feet.
As a child, I was small enough to fit in drawers. The trick is to grab the gap between drawers from behind, pull the drawer shut & make sure not to hit your head doing so.
Also, the "grapes" on the concession table could've been plums. But I agree about those peaches... way too small.
The first movie shows how Buster got out of it, he'd lay on his back and use his feet to press against the upper drawer and push the drawer out.
Presumably he got it closed the same way
Hear me out apricots
I will admit that while i enjoyed Sing 2, it had it's share of flaws like all movies do! although the songs were pretty awesome especially when Porsha sings "Could Have Been Me" Halsey did such an astounding job voicing her!

SAME HERE DUDE I really enjoyed this sequel I like it almost as much as the first Sing . Does he not know that some theatre lights have multiple switches for failsafe controls? EVERYTHING WRONG WITH CINEMASINS. This has nothing to do with the video but please listen if you want to otherwise leave it alone and ignore it. Hello my name is Justin and I'm a Christian and Apologist but I'm also a college student. I'm not a closed minded Theist as I have nothing against Atheists or unbelievers as I speak to them often to understand their reasons for unbelief but we as Christians are convinced of God's Existence due to many real factors). I'm not trying to convert anyone or convince anyone to become Christians as that's The Holy Spirit's job to help people believe but only explain why I believe in Jesus Christ. There's actually evidence of God's Existence in Christianity. First of all there's proof that Jesus of Nazareth existed in history since the writings of Tacitus, Josephus Flavius, Pliny the younger and other historical documents prove that He was living two thousand years ago that even scholars both religious and Atheists agree with historically speaking but not that He's The Divine Son of God because obviously they don't.
I'm going to give you historical and archeological evidence for God's Existence as The Scriptures have prophecies that predate the events recorded in them by several millennia including Matthew, Hosea and Zechariah which prophesy accurately of the people of Israel becoming a nation again after over 1900 years of being scattered around the nations since the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem in 70 A.D. spoken of by Christ in Matthew 23:29-24:3 and returning to their homeland after The Holocaust with Jerusalem as their capital in 1948 exactly as Jesus The Christ said. The prophets including Daniel spoke of the time where several world empires would arise and fall including the Babylonian kingdom, Medes and Persians, Roman Empire, and Saladin and the Muslims which went in consecutive order for the past few millennia. The people of Israel becoming a nation after The Holocaust in 1948 (ironically the melting point of gold as God compares Israel to gold that's tested in fire in Zechariah 13:8 and Jeremiah 16:15) exactly how Jesus The Christ said would happen since God us everything to come in The Scriptures and not just because people were working towards as Atheists claim which are impossible for any regular man to predict.
Just before anyone says Christianity is a white man's religion made to oppress blacks during slavery you obviously aren't aware that the first Christians were Jews in The Middle East and that Christianity just like any religion can be used by evil and corrupt people to oppress others but you forget that the first Abolitionists/Civil Rights activists were Christians who sought to abolish slavery, racism, segregation, injustice and prejudice throughout American history. Jesus The Christ loves you enough not to give you what we all deserve which is God's Wrath by His Own Blood. Charles Darwin didn't originally come up with The Theory of Evolution over 200 years ago as it is mentioned in the writings of Ancient Greeks who believed in Demons that gave knowledge to philosophers.
Evolution makes no sense when nothing has evolved after thousands of years of human history and supposedly the first creature came from primordial sludge several millions of years
ago funny how they won't believe that God an Eternal Almighty Spirit Being created us from the Earth) which came from a supermassive expansion of matter at high temperature that inexplicably created everything in the known universe that supposedly came from nothing billions of years ago. How did the organs evolve before there were bones, skin, substance and how did any creatures see before eyes evolved? I've studied evolution and abiogenesis in the past and read Darwin's " Origin of The and I'm convinced of speciation and adaptation which is micro Evolution but not macro Evolution because there's no evidence of it nor clear observable examples of it where living creatures evolve into other kinds of species plus the fact that fossils don't show evidence of evolution and genetic entropy rules out evolution. The question begs how did two genders evolve from a common ancestor with a perfectly hospitable and sustainable environment with breathable oxygen and resources to survive on inexplicably? Atheists have the burden of proof to explain how everything came to be and why our existence is possible without the Existence of God from an godless perspective just as Christians have to provide evidence of God's Existence and the validity of His Word.
Evolution requires life to already exist in order to take any effect in living organisms so it doesn't account for the existence of Life and reality. Also evolution is impossible because it goes against The Law of entropy and the second Law of thermodynamics because evolution makes things better whereas nothing continues to get better but decays and turns to absolute destruction in the end. Mark Ridley an Evolutionist said "No evolutionist whether gradualist or punctuationist uses the fossil record as evidence in favor of The Theory of Darwinian Evolution as opposed to special Creation". God's Existence is made perfectly known and observable in the universe as demonstrated in His Handiwork in the intelligently designed manner that Creation was made, human consciences and consciousness historical and archaeological evidence of God's Word being valid history, fulfillment of Bible Prophecies God in His Holiness and Righteousness could give us what we deserve in Hell for our since but He's merciful to give us free will to choose to accept or reject His gift of salvation by grace through faith in His Son Jesus. I don't mean this is any condescending manner but if you'd like to discuss The Scriptures with me or have me listen to your view on anything my instagram account is Savage Christian Kombatant.
Someone wasn't paying attention to the first movie. We see how Buster closes himself in the desk drawer. It's where he sleeps. Just apply pressure to the bottom of the drawer with your back and "walk" the drawer open and closed.
Cry harder, because nobody cares
Jeremy forgot to sin the fact that when Crystal snatched Moon to drop him during the show, absolutely NO ONE jumped in to stop him. He was a literal lone wolf in that one moment, I think a small team comprised of a lion, an elephant, TWO gorillas, and ANOTHER WOLF could have stopped him.
Exactly
I don't want to defend this horrible movie, but I think only the Lion (Clay) would be of any help. The elephant (Meana) and gorilla (Johnny) aren't really the fighting type, and one of those wolves is related to the other one.
Despite Illimunation giving up the entire plot in the trailers (again), I really enjoyed this movie. I love the character growth and I could definitely relate to their struggles. Mrs. Crowley will always be awesome and the final show still blew me away. The had to go bigger that the first movie and I'd say they succeeded. I also find myself singing along to this soundtrack far more than the first.
Same, those songs were stuck in my head almost a month after I watched it lol

The light switches are installed the right way, which gives a small benefit . As lights switches are normally in the off position, the top of the switch doesn't collect dust which could get into the more electronic parts.
so I had to check and all my light switches are this orientation. Good to know why and that my electrician isn't messing up at the least
You drastically overestimate light switches.
my favorite thing about this movie is that the tap-dancing tarsiers are inexplicably voiced by wes anderson.
I watched this movie at the perfect time. I was fresh out of my first semester of culinary school run by a chef that could give Klaus Kickenklober a run for his money in terms of how toxic he was. What I really wanted to do was act, but that was my sister’s “thing”, and she raised hell anytime one of us intruded on her things. I let her bully me into going to culinary school since I like to bake. It was terrible- the chef’s standards were impossibly high. In twelve weeks I made one perfect dish, and I was depressed and burnt out by the fourth week. I spent each morning before class crying in the bathroom, and each afternoon after class doing the same thing. I absolutely dreaded class mornings- it had just sucked the soul out of me. I ended the semester with a GPA of 1.3 and a final grade of 52% in the class. I was miserable and beating myself up and just so, so tired.
Then I went and saw this over winter break. I hadn’t liked the first one very much, so I didn’t expect a lot from this one.
I left that theater in tears. Seeing Johnny stand up to Klaus, a toxic teacher just like the one I was dealing with- it hit me hard right when I needed it. That night, I logged on the college website and changed my major to theater. I haven’t looked back since.
Good for you! People are quick to trash the sing movies, but they're not supposed to be masterpieces - they're supposed to be impactful and meaningful, send a message and give the characters personality. I get you're not too keen on the first one, but if there's a lesson to be learned from both films, it's don't be afraid; do what you wanna do, what you believe in, and don't let others tell you no. Of course, Buster does some... questionable things, but at his core he's passionate, determined and caring.

That's so weird. Why back to front?
It never applied to 99% of other country's on this planet.
What about the roll credits when Ash said “just Sing”?
4:00 Uh, did you forget Meena is an _elephant?_ Elephants have such an amazing memory that they can't forget anything!
I don’t care if Sing 2 is a 100 minute advertisement of songs it also has a story to tell
And that story isn't very good.
@@StephonZeno None of Illumination's stories are very good, with the exception of possibly the first Despicible Me, and even then, it's nothing that blows you out of the water.
@@matthewberry2144 Illumination's story telling just feels so scattered and disingenuous. It's like the have the pieces to tell a story, but don't know how to connect them in an interesting or entertaining manner. If it weren't for the music numbers, Sing and Sing 2 would be really dull movies. Hell, they're dull WITH the musical scenes.
@@StephonZeno I would still consider Sing 1 and 2 some of the better Illumination movies because there was actually some potential with the characters (especially Johnny) but Illumination being Illumination just fell flat on it. There's no sense of cohesion here, just put one plot point here and other here and it will just all work out (not well though). I really liked the colors and cinematics with the musical scenes, but that can't automatically make the movie a masterpiece. I really liked the thing with Clay Calloway and I was hoping it would bring a message, but I knew that was too good to be true. And the sad part is that it could have worked. It just needs more than things happening because plot. I want more development, more of an interesting story than "Op, let's get this depressed guy to be in our show." It can be so much better, which is a massive shame.
@@matthewberry2144 The Sing movies want to have these moments that are supposed to invoke a certain emotion from its viewers, but it doesn't do anything to actually earn it. Things just happen because they happen. I think the best example this I can think of, was in Sing when the obligatory "Main Character Hits Low Point" moment for Buster happens, and all the characters come by to check up on him. It's supposed to be a pretty somber scene that then inspires hope because "Look, these characters do care for each other!", but the thing is, the characters haven't been developed enough or established a strong enough bond with each other for that scene to have any impact. We're supposed to feel sad because...well...it's sad. In Sing 2, The Clay Calloway "arc" with him and Ash fails into the same problem. It's frustrating because it's not like these movies don't have the time for these things. They go on for nearly two hours, yet so little actually happens.
9:04 I knew that he was gonna start singing that.
Despite its flaws, I think I like this movie more than the first one.
Same even with the songs
Honestly, same. :-)
My personal opinion of the “Sing” movies: both of them are okay, much like most of Illumination’s filmography.
yeah the sequel was way better than the prequel
@@handev2604 this movie was entertaining, but for now the studio definitely peaked with the first despicable me
Honestly, I loved this movie waaaaay more than the first one
Same.
I am shocked Jeremy had no commentary about Bono being the voice of Clay Calloway.
That's a sin. (Ding!)
I was seeing if someone was going to comment this. That is also probably why there all those U2 songs that he kept complaining about (or at least a bit reason why).
One of my fav movies. Let's see it get roasted 🤪
to be fair, I actually like those 2 movies.
Its light comedy, decent animation, nothing serious...
My family went through a tough time and we needed some easy relief.
Same my mom loved this movie despite hating cartoons and anthropomorphic animals
You actually came up with a great idea for Sing 3.
This movie was way better than the first movie because it is so heartwarming and I love all the songs as well!
That was the most respectful +5 I've ever seen. Proud of you Jeremy.
14:31 you make a "PIGS IN SPACE" reference and you DON'T include the Muppets along with it?? Are you kidding? It was right there, gift wrapped for you, and you blew it!!!
Ms. Crawley listening to System Of A Down is one of the best things I’ve ever seen
When I watch movies in the theater I tend to just enjoy it, and leave the cynicism for when I watch these videos. But that "Is this about your dead wife" shit was messed the fuck up.
Who thought that A) that was an okay question to have a character ask and B) that asking someone that would make them more likely to help you?
IKR? Are we supposed to root for these characters who are willing to trespass on a grieving man's property and use the very reason he's grieving as emotional manipulation to get what they want?
@@cintronproductions9430 Exactly. Like there's a certain point where suspension of disbelief no longer suffices, and this was well past it.
@TheSportsGuru Sure, tough love is sometimes necessary, but that's not how you should go about it. Especially since the two of them are effectively strangers.
Also 15 years is a long time, but saying it's "too long" isn't fair. Everyone grieves differently, sometimes people don't fully recover at all from the loss of someone that close to them. I can imagine that being a celebrity whose spouse just died leaves little time for you to actually grieve since the media is going to be all over you, so while perhaps hiding yourself away forever might be a bit rash, I can see the thought process that leads to it.
@@ClonedGamer001 I mean, when Ash says about his wife being dead, she doesn't just say it in a heartless way - look at the scene again; her voice is soft and gentle, her eyes are sad and depressed... she's mourning the loss as much as Clay is. Then, later, when Ash plays one of his songs, she doesn't do or say anything - she just sits there and quietly plays, Clay CHOSE to join her, and even when he does, Ash doesn't say anything, just stops for a brief moment before continuing. She sent Moon away because she knows what he's like; he'd just try to convince Clay to join the show, while she felt genuine sympathy and sadness for him, and wanted to help him through his grief. Yeah, maybe some people would shut themselves away for 15 years, and being a celebrity probably didn't make it easier, but that's why you reach out to friends, family, co-workers... if you're going to grieve for 15 years, no one can stop that, but people can still be there to support you, Clay only realised this once he had someone to grieve WITH him. He even said 'running away and hiding is not all that it's cracked up to be', meaning Clay recognises that instead of dealing with his loss and relying on others to help him, he chose to shut himself away and made himself MORE miserable! Ash understands Clay, and wanted to help.
I actually really enjoyed this film 😂
I don’t blame you
My personal opinion of the “Sing” movies: both of them are okay, much like most of Illumination’s filmography.
I have been waiting for this!

I just so happen to have 3 separate light switches in my house that can be flipped down to turn "On" and vice-versa
Wait.. is it just a UK thing for lights to be turned on when the switch is pushed down? I thought everywhere did this.
@@matthewhill4636 Same in Singapore
@@PanzerSoul the sin sits with the sinner!
@@matthewhill4636 In the U.S., it's more generally common for lights turn on when the switch is flipped up, at least in my experience. I've only seen a few that turn on when the switch is flipped down. Maybe it's just a U.S. thing, or it might just vary from country to country?
I found it unbelievable how when Mr. Crystal told Buster to let Porsha do the thing, Porsha says "Yay" and jumps off without Buster giving his approval, thinking that if her dad approves of her doing it, then it is alright.
I actually thought the show at the end was great. When I first watched the movie, I wished I could have seen something like that in person. I know it is just a movie, but sometimes movies are just so good you wish they were real.
I also cannot believe you didn't question how Suki was able to get Jimmy Crystal arrested since the police showed up AFTER the show was over and how would she convince them that Jimmy attempted to kill Buster? It isn't like they'd just believe her when she said "This wolf tries dropping this koala to his death!"
Do you even consider her calling the police offscreen?

I like sing 2 but thanks finally I’ve been waiting for this
I'm guessing we aren't going to sin the fact Buster Moon literally kidnapped Crystal's daughter without a second thought. There should be police after Moon in the next movie where he gets arrested to Harassment, Endangerment, Kidnapping, Invasion of Privacy and Trespassing on Clay's House, Crystal's Theater and the Bank's property in the last movie so they could do their show.
I think you lack a little bit of common sense..... a scene at 6:20 with the building crew makes perfect sense to me. The blueprint guy is clearly carrying blank blueprints so they can map down what the stage will look like. Same idea with the paper guy and the script. Keep in mind it's most likely that everyone here thinks that this show has already been created and mapped out.

"I'm still going to sin it...but gently"

Jimmy Crystal is honestly my favourite character in this movie
Mine is Porsha
Johnny and Meena are WAY wholesome. That lot are my favorite characters in both movies. Then, probably Ash and Ms. Crawley (specifically in this one).
The film learns from none of the mistakes of the first, reuses the exact plot without all the good parts, and also adds a new subplot of having a celebrity voice a celebrity that noone under 25 will know in a film aimed at 12 year olds
I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS
