The logs are not shadow clones, my dudes. That's Substitution Jutsu. That's when they replace their body with an object seconds before they get hit. The Sakura Blossoms episode shows this very clearly because it shows her doing the hand signs right before getting attacked. For other fights they don't show them doing the hand sign because 1) it adds a bit of tension to that moment for the kids watching and 2) some of the more experienced ninja do it quickly and sneakily so that their enemies don't see it.
Producing a Shadow Clone takes a lot of chakra, you won't see anyone other than Naruto using it willy-nilly like that.
lmao sakura is the only reason we know how substitution works because she's so academy-level...

@@ZeldasMask reactors in general, especially in group reactions, will always miss stuff even when watching dub, and that's fine. The two who have watched before could probably do a better job explaining some things in between episodes or at the end of a watch session. And maybe they do it off camera, who knows. But them calling Kawarimi no jutsu "shadow clones" keeps coming up, so I thought I'd step in :shrug:

One of the main reason why I really like you guys is bcoz of your honesty. Most reactors just try to please the fans by saying only positive stuff and faking their reactions. They are scared to say their honest opinion but not you guys. Yes, the show is bit aged, it's hard to watch especially when you are not "skipping" or "fast forwarding". I watched it during covid and my fingers were always on fast forward bitton. Every time a flash back or a recap came, I skipped that part. That's how I got through Naruto. Worth it imo.
And thats also how I got through one piece, skipped some ops and eds, flashbacks, 1.25x some of that mofo till water 7
Me too.... Is skipped over a lot of the boring stuff in OG Naruto... Shippuden gets a lot better with its pacing
I feel like they should make a condensed cleaned up naruto verison and it would be amazing, because I agree with you. I watched it growing up and tried to rewatch it recently and it is so dragged out especially in fights it gets annoying.

@@Jarke Someone made a fanmade cut version of Naruto called the Ocean cut. Cuts fillers, flashbacks, slowness. It's just in english. But it's probably the best way to watch the show

when Orochimaru summoned the 1st and 2nd Hokage they were only around 20% power due to Orochimarus incomplete mastery of the reanimation jutsu.
I would have hoped that there was some catch to such dark jutsu otherwise it leads straight to chaos all the time, just for reference, where did you get this info?
@@soulygrz5119 when Kabuto revives mardara and the others in the war arc and lets them have full control over their bodys and minds only implanting the loose goal of beating the shinobi alliance he does this because if he tried to summon them at full power while also controlling them they would immediately break out of the jutsu so when Orochimaru summons them they are at

Kishimoto definitely pulled some harsh retcons, once he decided a certain someone to be an endgame villain and, thus, retroactively needing to bump* Lord First to make that person a legit late stage threat with the powercreep in Shippuden.
Lord 1st and 2nd being handled in a literal 3v1 with Orochimaru (3v2 with Enma), Sarutobi being the "God of Shinobi," the Fourth's coffin rising up and it not only being the biggest threat in Sarutobi's mind but also it rising up at all considering things we learn later...yeah, lots of retconning just from this section alone down the line. lol
Reanimation is supposed to reserect nerfed versions of their former selves. So it stands that they are weaker versions of the 1st and 2nd, but the 3rd taking them on so easily is still a bit wild as he's so old.
Seeing the First hokage here considering what happrns later hurt a bit
Hiruzen was also only shown his old version, the young him should be much stronger than what we were shown.
@@narucreed1 Another thing that isn't mentioned at all at the time. For all we know when this happens, Orochimaru literally just brought back undying brainwashed versions of the First and Second Hokage with all of their powers and abilities in death.
The "nerfing" from Edo Tensei isn't something brought up until much, much later, around the same time as the other retcons that happened.

This whole like interaction with Orochimaru, creeped me the f out the first few times I watched, idk why in OG Naruto, Orochimaru gives off such creepy vibes, the way he just reveals himself, showing how he's immortal, the laugh in that context freaks me out, also the Death reaper seal has such a creepy design, it's cool but creepy.

You guys should look up naruto Kai, it’s a fan edit where they remove all the filler and the padding and excessive flash backs without compromising on the actual story.

Guys whenever they replace themselves with a log,dirt or water, it’s called substitution jutsu. They can’t do it all the time cuz it takes chakra. Prob up to 2-3 times.
The Staff that Enma turns into isn't just a regular staff. It's supposed to be as hard as diamond, and can extend and shrink at will. It's from the legend of the monkey king which is hugely influential in Eastern media. Goku's extending staff Nyo'bo in the OG Dragon Ball is based on the same thing

Feel free to express yourselves guys. Nostalgia does tend to blind people. Some parts of naruto definitely dont not hold up, but some parts do. It was part of big 3 afterall.

Idk about nostalgia but we understand older shows like this have pacing problems .
it's a series with very low lows but the highs are so high that it makes it worth it
90% 9f Naruto's problem is fillers and pacing and the other 10% is Kaguya

I don't think Naruto has problems with pacing as many people say. this is a very normal pace. It’s just that times have changed, now people are used to watching Reels and Tik Tok where they give you a large amount of dopamine in 15 seconds, so it’s difficult for people to wait for something or feel the warming dopamine. Times have changed, many people have symptoms of ADHD, so Naruto seems slow. but in his time he was one of the best and the pace was ideal for that time. in those days, people were in no hurry, especially when the anime was released once a week, you could have time to forget what happened in previous episodes, and accordingly, these flashbacks, on the contrary, helped the plot. Yes, it’s difficult to watch now, I think you can even skip them, but I think calling this an anime with a slow pace is wrong. I have a friend who watched Naruto without rewinding with fillers only a few years ago, and according to her, she felt comfortable. so it depends on the person himself.

If you go with the flow and let yourself get caught in the traps, it's trippy but fun even if it doesn't make sense at the moment.
Ya'll should see the actual image of that scene of orochimaru's experiment. The anime makes it very child friendly, the original manga scene is DARK.
Traditional kunai were gardening and masonry tools used by ninja more for inserting into narrow spaces to use as handles to climb, sliding lock latches, prying things open, or tying to the end of ropes as anchors: the weapon part was secondary, so it actually makes sense they're mostly only good for hitting trees and rocks instead of characters.

Paper bombs have already been introduced. Like the squirrel that rock lee saved that had one on it in the forest of death. You guys should of watched it in English tbh you would’ve caught more stuff and some moments are just better like orchimaru voice actor during this fight in English. Don’t care if I get hate for saying that but it’s true. You guys talk a lot with each other, have to read, and watch every visual detail while describing what you think to your viewers at the same time. If it were in English you’d catch more stuff honestly cause it would take away the aspect of having to read and interpret everything they’re saying when you can just be told in English while you can use more of your brain to watch what’s happening visual and be able to talk with each other without having to worry about not catching everything cause you can still hear what they’re saying. You’d also be able to pronounce there names better. I mean I could honestly go on about it. But I know it’s probably too late now but as far as reactions go it’s just better in english. Some voice acting is bad in it yes, but it’s really not that bad overall to the point it’s unwatchable.

Just to clarify one thing, the first and second hokages are way stronger than their edo-tensei reincarnations here. Orochimaru had to nerf them so he could maintain control over them.
Shadow clones and substitutions/replacement jutsu are different and you can literally see and hear it in translation and how they call it (kage bunshin & kawarimi no jutsu). Shadow clones, clone themselves equally giving a chakra to that clone and sometimes would use elements to clone themselves while substitutions are objects and sometimes elements but no chakras. Therefore those logs are subsitution and not a shadow clone. Tho It might be confusing but the characters would call it out what techniques theyre using and you’ll get it unless you’re not paying attention 😂
imagine if they had given this fight the same treatment they give the fights in later shippuden! it would of been so much better but atleast you guys still have the best to come!! 💯

This anime almost caused hundreds of other anime to be made and it is the model for all of them. Besides, this anime is not only about action and is full of conceptual and emotional dialogues, and you have to pay attention to every single detail to understand the story at the end u will understand that this anime is one of the best in history
