Props to you for staying with the local option! 😊

    Pleasure following along on your journey as a small dairy farmer you living in a different part of the world - you constantly improving and upgrading your farm and
    your buildings - it`s a pleasure watching your INSANELY perfectionistic professional approach in all you do - meant in the best way possible - lol
    it`s actually surprising to experience life on a small successful farm still being able to make it and thrive with a relatively small heard of dairy cows.
    Not sure if it`s normal for your part of the world with small farms still thriving - in the US it`s for sure a thing of the past with farms with less than 100+ cows really "making it".
    If you one day wonder what we want to see - maybe take us around to look at other farms in your area just to get a feel for the reality of big/small farms and how they operate.
    I honestly thought the days with small family farms surviving were a thing of the past - small dairy farms in the US are getting swallowed up by huge "industrial farms" with 1000-5000+ cows
    You are providing a great insight and a great historical look for future generations to look back at how farm life was in the 2020`s with a small heard/one man operation.
    Pleasure, watching you succeed in your many endeavors as you seem to be a good honest upfront man showing seasons/life as it all happens to you in real life 👍👍👍👍
    One question since you brought up your neighbors tank - in France many farmers are members of a local organization of farmers who share some equipment they don`t always
    use or equipment they easily can be flexible with - why are you and your neighbor not sharing a big tank with dribble bars instead of you both invest in tanks with dribble bars -
    tanks to spread manure are only used few days of the year and can easily be shared between farms - just a thought you can maybe touch on.....

      The Dutch are discovering that 30 years of injecting, trailing shoe and dribble bars have killed their soil because the slurry is in thick bands and anaerobic. Killing microbes and worms. 200 Moscha swivel spouts are on trial. Teagasc refused to test it here without a bribe of 220,000 from the importer. I haven’t bought a trailing shoe yet. I hope the Dutch trials are positive.

    Such a simple machine if compared to the slurry injectiors that have to be used here in the Netherlands. Systems like these have been mandatory over here for over 20years at least, but dribling the slurry in between the grass isn't allowed anymore.. it has to be injected into the soil.

We haven't noticed anything in our feed or to the soil when they changed over from dribling (in your video you showed a system with a "shoe" that was used here) to injecting. But if there is too little rain the cuts may open up like cracks.
      Over there grounds might be more rocky i guess? I never operated an injector myself, but i would not be surprised if every cutting disc is springloaded. If I think of it, I'll make a little clip when they come bring our slurry in a week or 2. I'll send it on insta.

      I had an almost identical comment so didn't bother to put it up, we have a 6715 too so I will be interested to see how she handles his spreader with the dribble bar , we have a lot higher steeper land and hoped to be able to handle a 3000 gallon tank but are waiting and watching to see how this goes.

    Great when you have such a professional outfit right on your doorstep. You seem to have a lot of good manufacturers around where you are which is great for buying local 👍

    You should put a camera on the back of the dribble bar it is a massive benefit

    Great macerator but the stone trap having no quick release coupling is a let down. Great video and best of luck with it👍

      @johnobrien295 Před 2 lety

      Use plate that is cover, cut out 6 inch hole, thread tanker side, bolt on quick release coupler and u have quick and easy set up. No bother to man of ur skills 😎💪. I did to mine and so much easier than messing wit spanner n trying to lift on n off plate

    • @IFarmWeFarm
      @IFarmWeFarm  Před 2 lety +2

      It’s not very heavy at 450kgs so it should work on 1000gal tank upwards. Maybe even smaller.

    Learnt more about dribble bars in half an hour than ive ever read or heard before. Is the macerator easy to drive or is it hp dependant?

    • @IFarmWeFarm
      @IFarmWeFarm  Před 2 lety +1

      The macerator is hydraulically driven, so find out how many litres a minute your tractor produces, most tractors 90hp or more wouldn’t have a problem, Mastek will give you a break down on that if you give them a call.

    • @IFarmWeFarm
      @IFarmWeFarm  Před 2 lety +3

      Thanks Liam, 16 left to calve, will be chatting about that in the next video. Has been a disappointing calving this year with our fertility problems and to many bull calves unfortunately. All going well otherwise thankfully

    • @IFarmWeFarm
      @IFarmWeFarm  Před 2 lety +1

      I had all those fears but once I seen the way it’s mounted and the engineers report i’m fully satisfied and more. I would advise having a look at one in person. Them lads in Mastek know there stuff
