@@ciaranmartinlennon3560 yes, on certain farms it would make more sense. We have two farms , 8 miles apart. So we would have to have two front loaders and shear grabs and 2 pits. This would be a huge expense that we couldn't justify. Also we would have to have all of our fields coming in for silage at the same time which again doesn't suit us. We find doing our own silage field by field gives us more flexibility and control with the very limited weather windows that we get. Also our wet land wouldn't sustain large machinery for pit silage.
