CDC and Schloss had their deal in 2021 before the A&M job was even taken. A 3-year farm system for TU coaching staff in SEC.

Before you guys spike the football you might want to consider what you've just hired. Schloss has had elite programs for 20 years and never won a single national title. Listen to his former players talk and it's apparent why. The pressure of winning at Texas is significantly greater than at aTm and his teams play tight under pressure because of him. The guy showed his character under pressure in the press conference. And now he's blaming the AD for saying he can leave. Aggies went to title because of the pitching coach, not Schloss.

Exactly. You arent looking thru blinders like most Texas fans. They royally screwed themselves and now everyone knows who and what Schloss is. Now this is a major obstacle in recruiting for Texas. What is funny is that A&M retains their best coach and recruiter in Longley.

Schloss doesn't go looking around if the Aggies didn't go back on their word to him about building the new Baseball Stadium, your new AD ghosted him on that (and also fired the assistant AD to the Baseball team) to say there was any other reason for these moves other than Jimbo's gigantic buyout just doesn't seem possible. I was not too fond of the way he handled that question from Zane, a million different ways he could have done that, but UT has no chance at stealing him away if you do right by the promise to build him the new baseball stadium.

When I originally heard his answer, I was like “he’s gone”. He didn’t say “I will be the Aggie coach in 2025”. He said “when I came to A&M…” “nothing has changed in my mind…” At that moment in time, his intention was to not let it out that he was or might be leaving. It was the best thing not to do that thirty minutes after the championship game. He was put in a box.

Words matter and Olin used the word "complicit" which means "helping to commit a crime or do wrong", so O's perspective is not as a professional sports reporter, but as a fan. A&M is just a different culture. Stars and Stripes, God and Country, do the right thing. There was a time when our country and especially sports was like that. Now there’s less loyalty between coach and player. It’s more about what’s best for me. My son played for Augie. He was loyal to his players and he could be a hard ass when he needed to because they had that bond. Aggies want it to be like it used to be. Sorry guys those days are gone.

@@Brucev7it’s in every campus. True there’s no loyalty, but it’s not just in athletics. It’s unfortunately become part of our culture in our country.
I have know Jim and his family since we grew up together and played in little league, high school and then legion ball. He was raised in a home that had solid values and love. I haven’t spoken to Jim since all this went down, but I’m sure if given the chance he’d do anything to get those last minutes of that presser back and handle it differently. Unfortunately he can’t. There’s not a person out there that can say there are things in their lives they wish they could get a redo on in the heat of the moment. Unfortunately for Jim one of those moments happened when all the cameras were focused on him.
It’s completely understandable that A&M fans in-particularly feel hurt, betrayed and everything else.
But please realize this man has a personally life. He has a mom, dad, step father, brother, daughter, son and nieces and nephews.
At the end of the day it’s athletics. It’s going to make for what was already a fierce rivalry one that goes to another stratosphere. I for one can’t wait to see what is inside for both teams.
