Should Christians anoint their homes with oil to ward off evil spirits or sickness causing demons? Well, a bunch of looney false teachers masquerading as Christian CZcamsrs certainly seem to think you should. The practice of warding off evil spirits is nothing more than pagan superstition. It's practiced by false religions and it's a form of witchcraft. There is nothing in the bible that teaches this kind of superstition nonsense. - Zábava
The "church" I attended used to make us do this. We had prayer walks and went about anointing peoples post boxes, gates, fences and even rocks and trees, praying God would change lives, defeat demons, blah, blah, blah. Nothing changed except we came back oily and sticky.
Anoint your door hinges with oil. This will stop the squeaking.

I can understand this but I also know what we as a family experienced in our home when we moved in. It’s an older home, built in the late 70’s and we are the 4th family to live here. Before we moved the contractor that we hired, who was also a friend said that there was something weird going on because he heard someone yelling at him and he was alone in the house the time.
My daughter was scared in her room, she was 15 at the time. And it got worse and worse, Even her dog was afraid.
I can only speak for what we experienced. I know it was a familiar spirit and I know it was masculine. It had something to do with the original owner/builder of the house.
We prayed and told it to leave in the Name of Jesus and it really didn’t want to go. It’s been over 5 years now and it has never returned. I know there will be skeptics but I know what we experienced.
The Holy Spirit was not given to indwell hall's, bedrooms and kitchens but born again believers. Thanks Caleb, was so blessed listening to you. God bless.

I don't have a problem with this as such. And I also think that one can cleanse a place or person with the blood of Jesus Christ. The issue is however that the demonic/unclean Spirits resonate with or uncrucified carnal being. Hence if one entertains carnality this can indeed be an entry point for attacks from that side.
Only Jesus can sprinkle and cleanse a person with His blood. We can't do that.

You are taking that completely out of context. Please read verses 6 and 7. These verses are “testifying” that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. By His baptism in water, the shedding of His blood and the Holy Spirit.
1 John 5:6-8

I have nothing against anointing with oil, but I think it is God answering the accompanying prayers that produces any real benefit. Anointing is more of a symbol of setting apart for holy use. Is the home really set apart for holy use? If so, the anointing is just a symbol of that.
Like any physical act, it can be a dangerous superstition if we trust in the physical act itself rather than the Lord honoring the acompanying prayer and heart intent behind the physical act. But I wouldn't be too quick to judge the prayer and the heart intent behind the physical act of anointing with oil any more than I would be quick to judge fasting, praying out loud, giving, water baptism, raising hands in worship, etc.

I was so confused with so many things and false teachings (anointing your home, tithing, generational curses etc)
I live in Germany and not many people are believers here so CZcams was my „go to“ until I found you and two other people who teach similar things like you, I was so lost. I don’t believe just random things you say or in general what others preach in the internet but you are the only person every time I look up things in the Bible myself that actually used biblical teaching.

we have always prayed over each new home we have moved into because you Neve know who lived there before. I. know of people who have moved into homes where the previous owners were into the occult and after they moved evil spirits still haunted the place and after praying and rebuking casting out those evil spirits the home has been free from that. We have done it with and without oil although oil is a symbol of the Holy Spirit and a means of dedication and is why many Christians use it. If someone doesnt believe in using oil then dont do it but to speak so disgustingly, like this person in the video does, is horrible.

People ask me all the time why is it so important to call out everything with those guys? Demon in the house is used by people of other faiths, too! They will charge a fee for helping to clean it. Some even led their followers to go round, searching for demon to rebuke and cast out in hotel and other lodgings. Advertisements in social media can prove that people still use that today. Old Covenant, tithing 10% was for the Levitical priesthood - we don't have that anymore. As a Christian, we should want to give everything we have to the Kingdom. In the Old Covenant, 10% was required and they could live any way they wanted with the other 90%. But in the New Covenant, God wants everything.

But I've been reading through Genesis and I came across Genesis 28:22. Please read it. Until that point it was not under the Covenant of Circumcision God established with Abraham but out of his free will Jacob vowed to Tithe all God gave to him. Any response would be appreciated even though I don't have a specific Q in mind. I'd just like to hear what people think.

I am praying now for you and your son and I ask you to look at your life and see if there's any evil things that are going on that may be contributing there may not be but just keep praying and believing that the Lord Jesus will help you. I’ve been through that in a house in 2009 I was living in. It had demons all over the place and everyone in the house heard or saw them. It was terrifying and I’ve been born again since 2004 and this happened in 2009 as I stated. If I were to tell people the whole story I think it would be news worthy. It's quite interesting how some of these guys contradict one another on the one hand and secondly they contradict themselves on the other. For instance some say you need to get an Elder to bless the oil and some say you don't. Others say they apply the oil to door posts to ward off evil spirits within 100 meters and then go around praying why would you need to pray if the evil spirits are warded off. I get the good intent to some degree and that we do want to avoid evil one of the best ways is to not do evil things in your house and accept Christ as your savior and be filled with the Holy Spirit. Getting rid of things like lucky charms or pornographic or horror movies etc would be a wise move for any Christian and reading the Bible and praying is a good thing. I recall in the book of acts chapter 19 where groups of people would bring their sorcery Scrolls and publicly burnt them.
The point is not the oil but the prayer of faith that goes with it.
The idea of praying for the oil is found in 1Tim 4:4
4For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, 5because it is CONSECRATED BY THE WORD OF GOD AND PRAYER.
So, prayer and the spoken word has the POWER to sanctify food(including oil).
After making the oil Holy through prayer, you can proceed to use it.

First, you need to decode the mystery and purpose behind the oil in James 5:14-15.
Then you can discern whether it is applicable to anointing houses.
If you can't tell the purpose of that oil in James 5, then you can't discern the purpose of the oil on anointing your home.

The anointing oil represents two things;
The seal of The Holy Spirit
The blood of Jesus.
Here is why:
Because Jesus bought us by His blood, we are SEALED with the HOLY SPIRIT.
So, anything that represents the Holy Spirit also represents the blood of Jesus.
So, you should understand why people use it for their houses and make reference to Passover.
Anointing of the TABERNACLE;
It was used to consecrate or dedicate items and people.
That is, to set them apart for the use of God ONLY.
The question is this;
What are they being set apart from??
If there was demonic influence or control prior to such dedication, why shouldn't they and the dedicated things be set apart from it too??
Also, Who is really doing the setting apart in response to the use of the oil to express faith?? Isn't it the Holy Spirit??

Hi sister I am not Caleb but I can answer your question no we don't have to plead the blood of Jesus over our life every day once we accept Jesus as our lord and savior and are born again the blood that he shed at Calvary once and for all covers over our sins. His was a one-time only sacrifice that covers our sins and the past present and in the future because he was the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Yes, because God specifically told them to. Where in the Bible does God tell us to anoint our house with oil to cleanse it from demons?
I studied the occult before becoming a born-again Christian. This is pagan. All you need is Jesus and He will protect you and your home when you pray to Him.
