I know it's easier said than done, but don't let the comments get you down. If it helps, think of it as profit. The more people comment and engage with the channel the more the youtube algorithm pushes the video and the more views it gets, which leads to more profit for you.
I can't remember who it was that said it, but that person said something like "it doesn't matter if you watch me because you like what I do, or if you watch because you don't like it. Either way you're watching and I'm winning"
I also see a lot of people mentioning Itchy Boots and that she has more experience etc. but it's also worth mentioning that she didn't have *any* experience adventure riding before she started her very first journey. Everyone starts somewhere, no one is born an expert. It takes time to learn and gain experience and that's both normal and okay. You got this.
Sorry for the long comment, I just wanted to leave a little support in the middle of all the critique.

    • @GoEbaide
      @GoEbaide  Před měsícem +6

And it is actually a huge support.
It’s weird how people don’t see what you see. Everyone mentions itchy boots and I just don’t understand. I started three weeks ago with 1900km under my belt. It literally doesn’t get newer than that.
Want to hear the sad truth; most negative comments are coming from African profiles. The few positive comments are coming from profiles without African names and pictures. Isn’t that wild?! African supporting Africans, my ass! If I stumbled upon another girls channel doing what I’m doing while being so new to riding, I will cheer her on and say words of prayer for her, not tear her down with negativity and wish her death.
People keep comparing me to someone who started 6 years ago and has done over 160,000km. How the hell am I being compared to this person? I have no idea.
Itchy boots this, she does that. Who the hell says I want to be someone else? I am carving my niche and I am EBAIDE. I love camping and the outdoors. I was traveling and camping long before the bike came, and I am continuing what I love. Must I do what someone else is doing to be allowed to breathe?! I am traveling and not just riding, riding is ONLY my means of traveling. I WILL keep doing ME, anyone who doesn’t like it should STOP WATCHING MY CHANNEL.
But as you said, all the comments are making the video do even better.
I am gaining experience by the day and getting better. It is MY travel, and I am treating it as such.
This comment means a lot. God bless you ❤️

The hash reality is that it’s tough regardless of one’s experience driving from kenya to Nigeria, then being a newbie its 10x as tough , just slow down your pace , drive shorter distances it’s a marathon not a sprint, study your maps its very important and buy a navigation device n mount on your bike it’ll help you with directions. You should get a set of panniers instead of packing your luggage the way you did , you should definitely take the bike to the manufacturer mechanic before you leave kenya

Ebaide, what a ride this was, first congratulations for the far you have come for a new biker big up👏🏻👏🏻I would say keep going it will get harder am sure but there are a few things I would urge you to do, load down, carry the very essentials you need, you would rather add as you go. Get that bike fixed in Kisumu or your next big town stop. Also buy a hard copy updated map, why you may ask?! when your phone goes off you just might have an idea of where you are going, or where you at. Listen to your gut if it says you have made a wrong turn it won’t hurt to stop and confirm and take a breather from time to time. Truth be told you are about to enter very unknown territory and you need as much information as possible, enquire, read your map, google, do whatever you need to do to make it through. Praying for you and wishing you all the best, remember you are your own competition so if it takes your longer to finish this trip no one will judge you.. keep going make as many stops as you need to, stay safe and take your time and enjoy your little achievements every day. God keep you safe🙏🏽❤✌🏽👊🏽👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I don't think you know the dangers ahead of you. You are simply not ready for this trip. I personally don't think you'll make it. So I beg you to go back to Nairobi, and take at least three to four months to prepare. You are not ready, your bike is not ready. Fix your bike or get a new bike. You should have at least two phones, two tablets for Navigation, and multiple chargers. Consider subscribing to a satellite phone service.
Always study your route ahead of time. Get a physical map of Kenya and countries on your route just in case your phone dies as in this case. I also hope you have gotten or at least know how you are going to go about getting visas for the countries on your route. Also don't forget papers and insurance for the bike may be needed when you start crossing into different countries.
I am looking forward to you resuming your trip to Nigeria in a few months. Go in the dry season when there is less rain and roads are dryer and firmer. You should also consider taking a partner to ride with you when that time comes. I understand you want to be brave but you going on this trip at this time is a very foolish idea and I consider it as no more than a suicide mission. Please, please listen to all your fans. They love you and they want to see you win, but victory only favours the prepared.
    Rooting for you!!!

I will tend to agree with most people here. First and foremost you need to get that motor cycle fixed. The worst thing is getting a breakdown in a remote area. Your tires are not tubeless and I am not sure if you can fix a puncture if you have to. You also need to be able to light your motorcycle by yourself because believe me there’ll be times when you are entirely by yourself. Lastly is the issue of your navigation. There’s no way you will successfully navigate that entire hour using a phone to navigate. So invest in a proper navigation system. Otherwise I am rooting for you and definitely wish you the best. This video kept me on the edge. Also please slow down and be alert always❤

Best strategy is stay on the main roads get to a regular hotel first then if you want to make a day trip out to camp at least you have a familiar base within the area that you can return to not more that 25 km at most. I don't ride bikes but i can tell that the weight distribution on yours is off and causing you a lot of problems with balance and controllability which will only worsen as the roads you travel get worse. Please also find it in your mind to try and relax while riding....remember how you can do that in a car, even take your hands off the wheel while driving that you thought was impossible when learning to drive?? It will help with the bodily pain you are feeling from holding onto the tension too long.

c.mon, dont cry, now this is what we call adventure. There are times you'll encounter challenges while deep in the forest, good example is congo forest. Impassible roads and heavy rains. This are challenges that will harden you.

Look out for the trucks kindly. Again you can look at different youtube channels and how other people handle such situations. Besides, you can just check for hotel rooms along major highways before learning how to explore interior camp sites. Don't overspeed and buy satellite gps equipment big enough to view while riding.

I’ve watched the full video and please, please take some time to garner some experience before you embark on this journey. Kenya is a lot more tame compared to the road and landscape conditions of central and west Africa. It’s a matter of life and death at this point, so please take a long needed break and attempt when you’re more experienced 🙏🏾

You need to have so much training on navigation..Kenya is a very straightforward place with amazing roads,if you are struggling then it means you aren’t ready for this trip…if you see the routes itchy boots has gone through you will know that you aren’t ready to go beyond Kenya..stay more in Kenya, fix your bike, work on your skills and gain more experience..it’s for your own safety

Ebaide sorry for the journey be strong... both mentally and physically..several assistance i may have for you
    1. buy a google map tablet it's around $ 100 -- wont be going on and off ( i think this was why you missed your main route )
    2. try some anger management.
    3. you may have your plan for the day but since you are going through places that you dont know off, be having a plan B in mind like not necessarily finish the day plan but take a break and continue following day .
    4. be carrying atleast two accessories same for emergency purpose
    5. i saw from the beginning, you are carrying a lot of weight... nothing like getting used to it, it will be hurting best to offload some.
anyway God be with you and be strong... the journey will make you stronger..we are with you

I love your content @ebaide. I know everyone is offering their opinion, I’m from Nandi and I would have easily hosted you or offered some navigation brainstorming. You’d be surprised how many locals can help. If you’re comfortable with that, probably try it in your next stopovers.

Ebaide, you are very courageous and keep it up. Its not easy for an African girl to do this. Please learn to used maps as well. Google maps wont work everywhere beyond Kenya. I lost it when you headed back to Mombasa on your previous episode. As you say, you dont have 7 lives, there is a carnibal tribe in Uganda and Eastern Congo has war. Plan and Plan Carefully. Every decision you make, every corner you turn be sure and reasure yourself. Get information of the way youll use before you leave. Also tents are fine but make sure you are in a closed compound all the time. GOD BLESS YOU
