Today I was at the service center for this issue. The service engineer used scare tactics and told me that there appears a major issue with the bike's engine. He told me that some parts appears to be broken in the engine and told me not to ride the bike at all. After some research on the internet I told him about the issue and then he was so scared and told me that there isn't any major issue and that I may ride the bike as hard as I want. Still he coated me a sum of over 3 thousand INR for replacement of 4 sims including labour charge of 500. Thanks for sharing good knowledge on the web, this saved me a lot of tension and money.

Yes, it happened with me in last month, my bad luck i was seeing this video too lately. It costs me total around 16k. changed crank shaft which costs around 10k and service for opening engine was around 4k.

You're just going to be a victim of fraud. Just leave that mechanic as soon as possible and go to another who can understand this issue. Just show this video to him and ask for the resolution. There is only need to replace shims no more things like crank it can maximum to rocker and rocker arms in case if these are damaged. Or you can ask a KTM worker to solve your issue they can understand easily.

How many kms your bike has done with chain set? If it is approx 20k you need to replace it. Otherwise just do a proper alignment of your bike's rear wheel with chassis and clean the chain properly with a good chain cleaner and lubricate it with chain lube after drying with a clothe.
Great video . I actually spent 10 k in replacing the shims. The service guy kept on telling me that there might be issues with crank, tappet, rocker arm. So much costly.
Where r u located. ? My bike is sitting dead now. Problem with battery dischrge. Replaced battery . again same while riding. Checked coil. The local guy said to replace coil. The same problem arised. Fed up now. Kept it unattended. Want to rectify the problem economically. Dont want to shell any more authorised service
@@ruturajagashe7480 timing chain is not so much expensive but the service cost can be. Because mechanic has to remove clutch side cover and open the head cover as well be careful while whole process otherwise a single small screw can damage whole engine if it falls into it. As your bike has done 25000 KMs, I have different opinions, consider following 2 points 1- if there is clicking sound and if no lack in power delivery at any RPM then replace the shims with perfect fit size. 2- if there is clicking sound and lack in power delivery as well after certain RPMs in many gears. Check the rocker arm as well it can be broken so you've to replace it immediately ASAP because it can take you in trouble at any time and can be reason of expensive engine problems. Note- check power delivery on road in every gear.

@@jondebbarma7287 don’t put your bike in service centre for this issue they will make a very large bill. They’ll ask you to change the everything in the cylinder head. So it can cost you approx 10k as well.

Bike was not starting at all, I took it to a local garage they worked basically all day on it and finally managed to start it. They also cleaned throttle body. Now I'm confused what should I do. @@axel3895 sometimes suddenly stop can be because of a wiring issue specially on Handel Turing point. If you think that it was because of throttle body, so I want to inform you that if throttle body is bad then bike first starts missing not completely off directly. For shim replacement you need to check the shim sound first if it is coming, you absolutely need to replace them otherwise no need. Don’t open the engine without any big reason. I called Honda service centre they said they can't do anything about it and I have to bring bike there so I took it to a local garage which has some good mechanics and they said it lost pressure, it lost compression. Now I don't understand what actually happened 😕. BTW I have never changed shims or timing chain and touch 120-130km/hr everyday. Now bike is in running condition but I seriously don't understand, should I go for engine rebuild or just change shims and timing chain.

Nahi iska substitute triumph me lagta hai jo bahut mahanga hai aprox 1100 per shim. Agar size pata hai to me send kar sakta hu. Jyada jankari ke liye Instagram, messenger ye telegram par contact ke skate hai.
You mean old shims are missed in video, actually that part of video was missed while editing so was not added in video but you can listen the sound to verify that it was replaced.
You can not get them online only thing you can get them at any Honda service center but if you still unable to get them you can ask me with actual size of shim, I can send them to you.

Depend on perfect size mesurement if you've perfectly measured the size then it can last approx 12k to 18k KMs. Depends on riding styles. If in fast speed then less KMs.

Bro i'll suggest not to purchase it. It is expensive as it is old and more driven. One more thing availability of spare parts for cbr150r is limited as it has been discontinued earlier and even not available in neighbor countries like Thailand, Nepal etc so you can face some difficulties in ordering Parts in future. So I'll suggest you to purchase CBR250R because it is an internationally launched bike and currently also available in many countries so Parts are available however it can take some time but you can order. But the nearest will be to go to Vizag which is almost 300 km or to Bhubaneswar which is 180 km. can I travel with this issue? will there be any issue? If I cnt travel then have you check it here with some honda showroom or else may be local technician. pls let me know

@@jennasurya you can drive the bikes but not in very high speed only till 65 kmph you can drive don’t rev up more. Ok and no long ride more than 60km in a turn.
Suspension me se aati hai ya kahi aur se. Agar suspension me se hi hai to thoda oil dal lo CBR road ke hisab se bani hai naki offroad gaddo ke hisab se.
Ha bhai ye khud se kar sake hai but shim size measurement bahut important hai agar size over ho gaya to rocker toot sakta hai aur camshafts bhi damage ho sakti hai.

Size must be measured first it is not fix for every bike it completely depends on riding pattern. And it was my first.
Does this means that my CBR will also need the same size shim ? Because I read somewhere that there is a range of size that is acceptable

Top speed will be down and torque will be also be down as compression will be loose. It can also result in broken rocker arm so don’t wait for longer.

Is it necessary to change this part, my bike has done 54k and I don't feel it has any issues.

You mean old shims are missed in video, actually that part of video was missed while editing so was not added in video but you can listen the sound to verify that it was replaced.

You can not get them online only thing you can get them at any Honda service center but if you still unable to get them you can ask me with actual size of shim, I can send them to you.

If it is only in starting and not after that, it is not an issue but if it is after the warmup and sounds loudly like clicking, it needs to be fix.

Once we change the shim how long it will last .
Depend on perfect size mesurement if you've perfectly measured the size then it can last approx 12k to 18k KMs. Depends on riding styles. If in fast speed then less KMs.

The exact size can only measured as it is not same because it is completely based on bike usuage.

Bro i'll suggest not to purchase it. It is expensive as it is old and more driven. One more thing availability of spare parts for cbr150r is limited as it has been discontinued earlier and even not available in neighbor countries like Thailand, Nepal etc so you can face some difficulties in ordering Parts in future. So I'll suggest you to purchase CBR250R because it is an internationally launched bike and currently also available in many countries so Parts are available however it can take some time but you can order.

Of 250r and all necessary parts that needs to be changed (as compared to 150r)and at what condition i.e after how many kms eg.tyre, Air filter ,oil filter, chain, chain sprocket break pads or any other part that needs to be changed frequently or gradually ,if I missed mentioning it .and other parts eg self, lock ,ecu etc.. (as compared to150r)
Also what is the real mileage difference ..btw them I had seen few video I which 150r is givinng @50kmpl
And 250r @43kmpl
and things to do which is helpful in increasing mileage and maintaining good engine condition

SKF ki bearing thodi wide hoti hai use lagane ke baad bearing seal thik se nahi lagegi aur fir nayi bearing bhi kat jayegi isis liye original lelo.

I am in Odisha and dont have a good cbr 250 authorized service center. Seems like I got the same issue. But the nearest will be to go to Vizag which is almost 300 km or to Bhubaneswar which is 180 km. can I travel with this issue? will there be any issue? If I cnt travel then have you check it here with some honda showroom or else may be local technician. pls let me know
Local technician can also do it if he has done engine work of KTM or any liquid cooled bike.
