- Immigrant Song (2017) is a 5.0 octave marimba solo dedicated to my mother, Rosie Trevino. She was born and raised in Mexico and immigrated to the U.S. when she was a teenager. She would have been considered a “low-skilled, non-English speaker” in today’s current immigration agenda. In the 30+ years since arriving to the U.S., she’s become a small business owner, put me through college, and speaks better English than some of the highest ranking officials in our government… She is the quintessential American-dream story and I’m so proud of her. I never could have expected a political statement form a 4 mallet solo. I am truly amazed. The solo is absolutely astonishing, and the message is one that i agree with on a personal level.

They sound beautiful.
Thanks so much! I used two Sammut 12's on top, one Concerto 9, and one Concerto 4 at the bottom.
Are there any adaptations of this for a 4.3 marimba? And excellent job truly
Great piece, but you should consider altering the title slightly to avoid confusion with the classic Led Zeppelin song. Maybe "Song of The Immigrant", or "Song For An Immigrant".
