US vs UK Pepsi | Food Wars
Pepsi in the UK has cherry max as well. Also a max caffeine free version
Can confirm the cherry Max. Buy it semi regularly as I think it's great. Though I do agree with the comedian Ed Gamble who said it is very filling, perhaps moreso than a normal Pepsi Max or Coke Zero
they also have large cans of pepsi max the same size as the nitro
and Lime Max too!
Yeah I saw Cherry and Lime Max last time I went shopping
They have a zero sugar cherry pepsi drink in the USA too so thats not an exclusive.
There’s also Pepsi Max Vanilla, lime, strawberry and cherry flavours in the UK.
The vanilla is quite good
And ginger
They weren’t mentioned because they have that in America too
yea dutch here have max lemon/cherry and normal, its still shit though
Wow, in russia pepsi max vanilla have a diffrent name! Its pepsi DARK VANILLA. My favorite! Im quite suprised that you have a diffrent name there, and its not because of translation coz name is on english x) Quite weird, but i glad to know that my favorite drink availible in other countries because i thought its Russia exclusive.
I often wonder what part of the UK Harry lives in as he frequently seems to have trouble buying UK products that I can buy easily in almost any supermarket and often in local shops too. Pepsi Max Cherry, Raspberry and Lime seem to be very widely available around Yorkshire and I've never had a problem finding any of them. Pepsi Max Ginger isn't as common but does still seem to pop up now and again but I suspect it's been discontinued as it's becoming less common.
Vanilla is in the UK too
@@SinfulBlood666 that was my favourite too. With a dose of vodka, rum or bourbon as well
@@SinfulBlood666 personally I found ginger disgusting lol. I had no reason to add that butt
Harry is posh and rich, if he went to a rundown area of the U.K. like a normal corner shop he’d find them all, but he’s to busy shopping in M&S 😂
Tbf the lime sells out all the time at my supermarket, I put a pack of 8 on the shelf the other day and they were gone within an hour (Morrisons aldershot for context)
Here in Brazil we have a whopping variety of 3 Pepsi flavors. The other two are Twist and Black. Current Pepsi Twist is zero-sugar with lime squeeze, there used to be a sugar variant but was phased out some time after. Black is basically Max, and it's relatively recent, being introduced here only a couple of years ago. I just wish we had more variety like the rest of the world
ur nan has 3 pepsi flavours
It's the same thing in Serbia. Only we have max instead of black
As someone that works for Pepsi, you described Bubly perfectly.
How can you work for pepsi
@@trapbandicoot7877 I'd guess you fill in an application form
@@ShaneWalta never seen any pepsi factories in my life never seen any application processes on job websites never seen any roles to apply for anywhere etc
@@trapbandicoot7877 do you really think there are no people that work for pepsi. Pepsico is one of the biggest companies ofc people work there
@@kbrarn8784 yes I just think pepsi is produced by the gods and angels put them on the shelves in our shops , your comprehension skills are clearly not the best . I said I’ve never seen jobs advertised/potential job opportunities at these places nor ever seen any buildings/factories relating to pepsi
Sparkling water is not for everyone, but it is funny that grapefruit was the least favorite flavor. It is my personal favorite next to blackberry.
I prefer more tropical flavors like lime, mango, pineapple. You name it.
Right I was heartbroken because I love bubbly lol
grapefruit is always my go to flavor for anything unsweetened, I just find it works for that kind of drink
@@1997Awesomedude Agreed
I know! Grapefruit flavored sparkling water is the best!
i worked in the syrup production room at a local fountain beverage company, and i sampled a little of the plain high fructose corn syrup.......yea, it gives a sharp bite on the sweetness factor.
I got my hands on Crystal Pepsi about 5 years ago when they rereleased it. I was excited and bought it as soon as I saw it. It tasted like sugar in carbonated water and little else.
Still exists here in canada, quebec at least
Many years ago my husband confused a waitress in Las Vegas by asking for a “gin and lemonade”. I managed to tell her he meant Sprite.
Random facts: HFCS is most definitely worse than sugar, although not by a wide margin. It is 55% fructose, thus harder to metabolize due to the fact that only the liver can process fructose and it causes more weight gain because of the imbalance of sugar types. Also, New Coke/Coke II is still available-as Sam's cola (Wal-Mart). They bought the recipe from Coke after it was discontinued around 1991 and it's almost identical, albeit slightly watered down.
Refined sugar is one of the major causes of cancer.
صلوا على النبي
Sucrose is 50% fructose so it won't really make a significant difference.
"New Coke/Coke II is still available-as Sam's cola (Wal-Mart). They bought the recipe from Coke after it was discontinued around 1991"
I'm pretty sure this is a myth. Do you have a source?
New Coke/Coke II was discontinued in 2002
About the Sodastream syrup, it has cola flavor but tastes in my more or less humble opinion much closer to the inexpensive cola drinks, the super market offers under the own name.
I made the experience, that overdose tastes a bit better than underdose, but I would add fresh lemon juice, so it's a bit like the lemon piece in the glass.
When I want cherry cola taste, I take some of the Sodastream cherry syrup.
About the syrup bottle envelope, when you carefully break it, it doesn't look so fuzzy.
The Japanese Pepsi's are amazing. More bubbly, seasonal variants, the midnight blackcurrant flavour was sublime.
I prefer Pepsi Max to regular, but Pepsi Max Cherry is my favourite. I've tried Pepsi Max Raspberry and that was possibly the worst soft drink I've ever tasted.
Don’t diss the Pepsi max raspberry 🥲 it’s literally the best drink
I assume you haven't tried Pepsi Max Ginger!
@@AbsoluteWoo it feels like drinking straight vodka and has a poor taste too
@@AbsoluteWoo Pepsi Max Ginger tastes like cleaning detergent. 🥸
Have you tried Pepsi Max Lime yet?
Can't believe you missed Cherry Pepsi Max, Harry! My favourite drink!!
Used to be my favourite, drunk it too much and it eventually gave me headaches for some reason
I'm guessing the Americans have a cherry Pepsi Zero Sugar, hence why it wasn't featured as an exclusive
8
@@chlcrk cherry Pepsi max and cherry Pepsi zero are the same soda, they just have different names in the US and the UK.
Same with me and any typebof iced lemon tea @atomik9322
I like it how Harry measures the items in grams and millilitres and Joe measured the items by ounces and fluid ounces. I just love it, it just tells you different ways of measuring groceries and lots of other things. And also in the US you have way more portion sizes of Pepsi compared to here in the UK. You have seven compared to our four. Also, the ingredients are basically just corn syrup and chemicals in it and in the UK we have basic ingredients. No idea if I’m wrong but sorry if I am. I’m wished I lived in the US to be honest because your portion sizes and exclusives are nothing but spectacular. Food Wars is the best!!! ❤❤
Ah yes, the us where school shootings are a normality
@@ThyBinlid uncalled for
@@ZaFakeFoilo what? the us has a major issue with school shootings/shootings in general. the us is a very bad country to live in.
@@ThyBinlid hes on about soda and ur like on about school shooting

These are the de facto taste testers on regional differences. Great guys.
WAITING ON THE NITRO!
Actually, you can also get the 3L Pepsi in America but don't expect to find it just anywhere, as it's not offered by alot of stores that only sell the two main sizes of every kind of soda/pop.
They sell 3L in NYC when I lived there
"Maybe the uk should take after america and put high fructose corn syrup in everything" no dude, I'm telling you you don't want that xD
Nice little shoutout to Wisconsin with the Spotted Cow pint glass.
Bubly is aromatic. It’s actually supposed to just taste like carbonated water with a slight scent of the flavors. I actually love them
7up free is my favourite drink. Afterwards it's full sugar Pepsi if no 7up free is available at the cinema as i need sugar to focus not sleeping in the dark. Helped me during class without a distracting aftertaste. Plus I like lemon lime.
Love from Wisconsin, USA 🇺🇸
I once got home early from work, and stumbled on an episode of Bodger and Badger where Bodger bought a Sodastream and Badger used it to make fizzy mashed potato. Epic.
In Spain I've seen multiple bottles that are not mentioned in this video, such as the 333 ml one. I love that one and I buy it when there's stock of it because it has the same capacity as a regular can but can be sealed which comes really handy ngl
That’s in Spain tho, idk if we have that in the UK or US
They share one thing though- that horribly oversimplified logo. Bring back the early 00s logo Pepsi!!
and their garbage taste
What's up with the logo? It's easily recognisable and okay.
@@dragoner3211 the older logo was recognisable too, without it looking like it was thrown together in MS Paint. There's a whole lot of videos on oversimplified logos that you can watch if you want proper opinions on why they're shite
@@Maisonikkokufan its still better than utter oversimplifying.
cool input.
As a Wisconsinite, the most exciting part of this video was the New Glarus glass
I miss Spotted Cow.
I got to try Crystal Pepsi when I went to America as a kid and I was amazed at how it could be clear but taste exactly like Pepsi!
I'm surprised people hated it because it was a pretty cool novelty to me
It didn't taste the same. It was missing the caramel flavoring, which makes Pepsi dark, IIRC. I did like it, however.
I literally loved crystal pepsi. My momma loved it as well
صلوا على النبي
Pepsi is normally clear they just add food coloring
I definitely prefer the taste of Crystal Pepsi
It feels less acidic and because it has more sodium it also has a sharper taste
MUG ROOT BEEER !!!
I prefer Pepsi max and love the cherry version. In the UK Costco do 8 2L bottles of either Pepsi/Diet or Max in packs strapped together for about £7.50. Can easily pay £2-3 for just one bottle these days so it’s much cheaper to buy in bulk. I’ve also seen the 3L Pepsi max bottles in B&M bargains
Now with the Atlantic Canadian Pepsi Flavors. We have an entire list of Crush Sodas that are mainly manufactured here in Atlantic Canada, like Lime, Birch Beer and Pineapple. They show up in various other places, but those are the main 3.
When I was Canada for a period of time, I remember trying bubbly and I actually loved it.
Pepsi twist was amazing
For drink sizes in the UK we also have a small 250ml can, at least for Pepsi Max (source: drinking one right now)
I find they sell those in alcohol section as mixers
I'm really intrigued about this Mountain Dew story.
Please tell me more. 👍
7:39 here in malta we use "Luminati" (the maltese word for lemonades) to refer to soft drinks in general
We used to have 3 liter soda bottles in the states. Pretty much phased it out by the late 90’s, early 2000’s.
Good video! Luckily in my country we have lot of variations... Classic, Max, Max vanilla, Max Mango, Max Lime also the Twist, Wild cherry, Max rasberry and the Blue are easy to find in some stores!🇭🇺
@@f3game1 Yeah it tastes good!
I drink water/ Orange Juice and Beer! Thats it and feel great! I gave up soda 10 years ago along with caffeine and never looked back.. That be said loved the video brings back memories.
In Canada most grocery stores sell Pepsi (and many others) in a six pack of 24oz bottles.
Everyone loves a good old Food wars episode
Clicked right away when i got this notification!
You should do a food wars of uk vs us vs aus! Australia frequently in the products for food wars have a hybrid of the American and UK offerings as well as exclusive offerings!
I'd be curious to have one fly to the other place so they can try all the things, then they both fly to the other place and do the same.
Supposedly our food standards are much better than the yanks but I'd like to see people actually compare them
The Super Trooper reference was not lost on me :D
99 cent Only Stores, until recently, sold 3 liter bottles of Pepsi, as well as Shasta soda.
Recently Shasta has dropped to 2.5 liter bottles for 99 cents.
The 99 cent Only Store(s) also sell the Pepsi Max 2 liters for 99 cents (as well as cherry flavors).
Thanks to all the high fructose corn syrup I'm allergic to the corn... so regular sugar is for me and I live State side I also do the mini can
Can confirm Lime Pepsi Max exists, i get an 8 pack in ASDA every time i'm shopping there i swear. They also do 2lt bottles of Lime Pepsi Max
They Do it in Sainsburys too. I Love the Lime Flavour.
And Morrisons
Excellent video! If you ever need a soda expert, I'm your guy!
Shoutout to the New Glarus Pint glass, one of my favorite breweries
The daily allounces are different in the UK and US so the same amount of sugar is a different %. Pretty sure 36g of sugar is less than 72% RDA in UK.
Oh wow. I completely forgot that they used to sell soda in 3 liter bottles when I was kid (back in the 80s in the US).
Lol @ the American guy changing from ounces to litres when talking about the sizes of the cans and bottles.
We have 150ml cans in the uk as well, those are used for making alcoholic drinks, you can find them in big Tesco’s
I used to drink them as a kid, didn’t know that was what they were for.
Tesco's own brand of coke is somewhere between Pepsi and Coke and is pretty much my preference, and it's way cheaper than proper Coke these days.
Joe just really reminds me of Rick (Rick and Marty)
I enjoyed this video's mug moment 🤨🐶🍺
Love the spotted cow glass for the nitro Pepsi
Can confirm the kidney stones, never thought I'd get them at 25, but alas I did, and at like 2litres a day, no surprises there. 3 years later my consumption of Pepsi/similar drinks is WAY down.
My uncle had a kidney stone due to his excessive soda consumption
⛰ ouch!
I drink nothing but water through the week, prob average bout 5 pints a day.
2L a day?! Kidney stones should be the least of your problems.
O problema não foi o refrigente e sim a falta do dobro de consumo de água
Uk got glass Pepsi too and is absolutely amazing 😻
Getting a Coco Cola ad halfway through a video about Pepsi is kinda funny
What you can find in New Zealand 🇳🇿
Pepsi: 250ml cans
330ml cans
500ml cans (imports for sale in other countries so hard to find and not officially sold)
330ml bottle
500ml bottle
1.5L bottle
2L bottle
Multipacks come in 6s 10s and 24s (330ml cans)
Pepsi max (no sugar) comes in the same sizes as regular Pepsi but also comes in a 15s 330ml can multipack
Additional flavors are Pepsi max raspberry and Pepsi max vanilla in 1.5L bottles. You can also get the Pepsi max vanilla in 6s 330ml can multipacks.
Might be some others these are just the ones I've seen :)
I used to drink regular Pepsi for years but switched to Pepsi Zero Sugar about 3-4 years ago. I drank a can of regular Pepsi for the first time in a while the other day and it actually tasted very strange to me. Not at all how I remembered it lol
Pepsi Max is my favourite 😊
All tastes the same tbh
I really enjoyed the mini random fact history lesson 😂
The bit about pepsi having the largest navy is wrong they did have a agreement to get those ships but they changed the deal. For the USSR to make 2 big oil tankers and give them to pepsi but the USSR collapsed and it was abandoned. But if they did get the warships and subs it would not be enough to have the 6th largest navy
Bjs too i think in the east coast but definitely My parents have membership to costco so definitely yes they sell it at costco
you guys so should get someone from brasil to do this with. maybe brazil vs japan since you already filmed america and england. subject suggestions are: doritos, RUFFLES, any soda basically (we have 3L, pepsi with lemon, teeny cans, and slim cans just off the top of my head those r different from you guys)
Recently, mango pepsi max made its way into UK stores, and I'll be honest, I love it. I'm not really much of a soft drinks person, but I could have mango pepsi quite regularly
What stores can you get it from?
just found it two weeks ago in a sainsbury's. It's awesome.
@@WaterBottle1401 At the moment it's exclusive to Tesco
@@Alex-ng6hc i can now find it at my local corner shop
Although now I can’t get raspberry Pepsi max anywhere 😭
I'm just imagining the sheer disappointment I would feel if I asked for lemonade and got carbonated lemon water
I love how Joe has a Spotted Cow pint glass. Fun fact for those who don't live in Wisconsin: Spotted Cow can only be sold in Wisconsin
I love U.S soda and always love a novelty can of Mountain Dew blue and red charge if I can get my hands on them. The only criticism I have is that it always seems US soda skimp on the carbon fizz they seem quite flat to me but that might just be because our drinks are very very fizzy.
Bubble water is amazing. I don't buy Bubly often, I prefer bottles. It's great if you don't want sugar or fake sugar.
I also love real sugar Sierra Mist. If 7up was real sugar I'd drink that. I also only drink real sugar Pepsi.
I’m at a restaurant thanks for making me want Pepsi now
As others have said there are more variations in the uk, cherry, raspberry and lime are some that spring to mind
In Poland, we have lime and mango Pepsi flavours, and maybe cherry and raspberry, but only in Pepsi Max.
We also have SodaStream, even in non-technologic supermarkets like Carrefour.
We need a Dr. Pepper comparison 👀
hey Joe, pepsi did bring back and sell crystal pepsi in stores a few years back. i just was too lazy to get one, and they were a bit pricey
Yep, tried one. They were gross and to me a bit flat?
I had it a few times when it was still available. It tasted almost exactly like Pepsi from what I remember
@@ThunderboltOverkill I don't know why it didn't for me. To each their own.
I'm in the US, and a HUGE fan of Pepsi Made With Real Sugar. Sadly, in my area, it hasn't been available since the start of the shutdown. I even called Pepsi's 800 # to beg for them to bring it back. I cannot wait for that day. During a recent visit to Las Vegas, it was available there.
In czechia we have 5 pepsi types, Normal, Max, Max Lime, Max Mango and Max Pineapple + Mint and we have 8 sizes for normal and max 0,25l 0,33l 0,5l 1l 1,5l 2l 2,25l and 2,5l. The ones with flavour come in 0,33l-(only lime and mango) 0,5l 1,5l and 2,25l
Sparkling water is great for those of us that don’t enjoy sugary sodas. My kids absolutely love Bubly and it’s the only carbonated drink we buy in our house. I didn’t know it was owned by Pepsi though. I find Coke products far better than Pepsi normally. We do have the Pepsi and 7up soda stream bottles here in Canada as well.
Gatorade is way better then Powerade and Gatorade is owned by Pepsi
Pepsi products > coke products
@@PRIMEHDZ yes that’s true too
As far as sparkling water goes bubly is the most disgusting ones I’ve ever tried. LaCroix is so much better in my opinion. I stopped drinking soda for the most part and stick with sparkling water and now a normal soda tastes so over the top sweet and sugary.
@@kelseahamilton9160 its not just 7up and pepsi you can order other drinks

0:46 when I went to turkey a year back (I’m from England) when I was on the bus to the hotel my cousin got a can of coke that looked exactly like the 591 ml bottle of Pepsi
When I was a kid my parents would send me to the bodega at the corner. They had the 3 liter Pepsi. When I grew up in Brooklyn.
I remember when I was 14/15 I refused to drink water and only drank 3L bottles of soda. Seeing the massive Pepsi bottle reminded me of that lol.
For years I had maybe a glass of water a month, the rest was Pepsi then coke and at one point quite a lot of red bull.. Most of my teens was like this, I have no idea how I'm alive.

I’m glad we got the cream soda cause that’s my favorite one ☺️
In some stores in my area, you can find 16oz cans as well!
One thing you pointed out which frustrates me massively is that we dont list our caffeine content in the uk unless its super high (like energy drinks).
When i was pregnant the nhs tells you dont have more than 200mg of caffeine per day but then nowhere actually discloses how much in stuff. I dont drink tea or coffee which meant i was probably fine, but chocolate also has it in, so essentially i just allowed myself one can of coke zero every so often as i knew i was unlikely to go over with this.
I wish more companies listed it honestly. There are more reasons other than pregnancy to try and restrict caffeine and i think it would be helpful for people to be able to make informed choices
a Funfact about New Coke is that people reacted very angry, when they had been told, that they picked the New Coke instead of the Old one in a blind taste test .

3:23 is at least a product sold in UK but without mentioning the real sugar.
Here in Norway I'm pretty sure Pepsi Max is the largest soda brand, perhaps after regular coke, I'm not entirely sure, but they both take up large portions of the soda section. I'm not even sure I can remember having seen regular Pepsi stocked in recent years.
When I haven't had Pepsi Max in a while, it does have that kinda chemical taste, but that goes away as you get used it and it becomes utterly addicting. I had to completely stop drinking it since it was so addicting, and we even had had story about a girl who had financial trouble partially due to her Pepsi Max consumption. (financial management in general was the bigger issue, of course.
That said, I did try Pepsi max when I lived in the UK for a while and, well, I didn't continue. Perhaps we just have better water, idk.
I love mango flavored drinks and I would love to get the mango Pepsi here in the uk
They’ll be doing one soon hopefully. I had a sample can of Pepsi Max Fizz Mango
In the us the soda shop variety also had a cherry one. Also for a short while last year I believe they brought back Pepsi blue.. which tasted exactly like it used to. Also also.. wild cherry Pepsi anyone?
Sodastream Pepsi, Pepsi Max, Diet Pepsi, 7UP, and 7UP Zero are also available here in Canada

Regular Pepsi in the UK needs to be redone. It's now disgusting now they've reduced the sugar content and are using sweetners
So strange that the "standard can" size varies. UK 330ml, USA 355ml but in Australia we have 375ml cans.
Why is it strange?
@@leonardgoldberg2879 it is
In the UK you get 375ml bottles, we sell them where I work at the same price as the max and diet etc which takes into account the sugar tax
Fun Fact: "Diet Coke" uses the "New Coke" recipe, but with Aspartame instead of Sugar and HFCS. That's why it tastes so different. They then took the "Classic" coke recipe and replaced the sugar and HFCS with a blend of Aspartame and Acesulfame Potassium ("Ace K") and sell it as "Coke Zero Sugar".
Oh, and speaking of, Crystal Pepsi was largely killed by Tab Cola, an alternative clear cola (produced by Coca-Cola, though they made sure they kept their name away from it), and sold with "Low Sugar" and "Health benefits", successfully tarnishing the "clear cola" segment and tanking Crystal Pepsi with it (See "Killing Giants: 10 Strategies to Topple the Goliath in Your Industry" by Stephen Danny, where there's an interview with Sergio Zyman, former chief marketing officer at Coca-Cola)
