MAYAN mastermind Jansen comments: "'Faceless Spies' is the last track on the album and deals about governments spying on their people, not only for safety reasons but also in order to control them." About the album's theme, he adds: "It's about the current state of the world in which a small group of elites have all the power and try to dominate humanity. The tension is rising and the outcome yet unknown."
MaYaN is like a reverse Epica, and I'm not complaining one bit.
actually kinda reminds me more of a reverse AF, since they have a male clean vocalist as well.

@@zenzei2724 Requiem for the Indifferent (both the album and the title song) was influenced by MaYaN's Quarterpast. If you listen closely, you'll be able to hear the Death Metal elements in there.

if anyone has ever seen futurama, there's an episode where fry loses his pants. they go looking for the pants, and the search leads them to an underground cave. they find a giant stone slab which turns out to be a mayan calendar. written on that calendar at the very top is the MaYaN logo. Easter Egg!!

I was surprised to learn that Marcela Bovio was featured in this song (2:24 - 2:58), but it makes sense now knowing that since Laura has a completely different singing style from her.
Great track. I love it. Laura sounds amazing. And I am happy that she has a much bigger role on this album. Can't wait for #antagonise!!!

I wanna say Mayan is a relief for me, because I needed complete songs just with Mark, his guturals and all that hits of death metal in Epica but without Simone :D. I love death metal, and I think Mark can make a good one.

Thanks for the song, it makes me ponder over a lot of things. Including Mayan astrology. If Mayan believed in human sacrifice including babies, I won't want to go too deep into their astrology at all. Besides, their astrology didn't stop Spanish invasion.
