Great interview....both of you. Hope theres more of Dennis coming. Just goes to show you...theres tons of vloggers out there with fancy cuts, visual and audio effects..drone shots, but my 2 favorite vloggers...You and Paul (Paul in the Philippines) are bare bones no frill...if you have good content and a good story, people will listen...well done.
I enjoyed the motorbike conversation. I ride a big bike here in the US and I have rented a scooter and rode around the island of Cebu last year. I find no matter where I am, riding on 2 wheels makes your senses very enlightened and you become aware of everything. All of our senses are alive and performing at peak levels - as long as you are not drinking or tired and are paying attention. However your telepathy concept is fun to listen to - maybe your spiritual side is now awake and you acknowledge your spirit guide now !!
You need to do a part 5 with Dennis. Enjoyed this series immensely, but it ended just into the covid discussion. Would love to see the rest of it.

It was only by chance that I came across your videos, of which I have now watched the interview with Dennis,, utterly entertaining and interesting, plus a few others, your fiancee, your motorcycle and your intro videos. Myself, retired, was living for the past 2 plus years in Thailand and returned back , for a short visit, back to Australia and because of Covid19, got stuck here, so my lifestyle has been completely upturned and more or less put on hold for who knows how long. Consequently I can very much associate with your videos, thank you. I will view all your videos and have now become one of your many subscribers. Stay safe, cheers

Your friend is right about being lucky to escape what is happening back in the States. I feel the same way with my situation. I ended up being based in the Philippines again. And it's honestly been a blessing in disguise.
Even though some islands have bad Covid19 numbers, your island and my province have low numbers. I am based in Pampanga... where Angeles City is... I am sure you heard of it. Expat haven as well and close to an airport which can bring you anywhere in Asia on a whim without going through Manila.
Out here as well, we have had very low covid19 numbers. It really depends on who is running the place where you are at.
Overall, our performance here isn't that bad. Not compared to the US! I am glad I'm not in Texas right now!
Hello Mark! I enjoy watching your video but never thought of commenting until Dennis. He’s happy it’s good to be with happy person. He talks about spirituality, nature, plants/ garden which is me.

You’re in paradise Dennis. I was lockedown in the Philippines for 3 months due to covid-19 & was in a hurry to come back here in Madera, CA near Fresno only to arrive where covid-19 infections & deaths is more than 55 times even though population is less than 4 times that of the Philippines. I was in Dumaguete last March 12th when the lockdown was announced but had to catch the next flight out to Manila then travel to North Luzon where I was on lockdown until May. I see a lot of “invincibility” mentality fueled by freedom to do whatever fueling infections & deaths especially among the young students going back to colleges. The seriousness of the pandemic has not set into the American psyche that it is still being taken for granted. Sadly, it starts from Trump who frequently dismisses scientific advice from his own task force in contrast to that of the Philippines. You are in the Philippines for the right reasons and wish you the happiest years of your retirement years ahead. You impressed me as a good, loving, educated human being which is a perfect complement to the Filipino culture.

Once again, very interesting and insightful video. I found your discussion as to why there are far fewer trafic accidents in the Philippines than one would expect given the volume of traffic, types of vehicles, driving habits, and road obstacles to be particularly interesting. And especially as it relates to the lack of inflated egos, ergo the humility one does indeed find, and everywhere in the Philippines. In contrast, I live in Israel. We have one of the highest rates of traffic accidents anywhere in the world. No trikes. No cows. Few dogs or cats in our roads. But.....LOTS of hyperinflated egos, and folks with a HIGHLY exxagerated sense of entitlement and privilege. In Israel, unlike the Philippines, it's all about ME. WE is only for suckers, or what they call out here "fryers". I have always maintained this to be the real source of our problems on the road, and I think you guys just confirmed it!
That's all true, but another factor is most places, seldom does anyone get over 60 kph, and because it is chaos, drivers stay focused. The give and take of most traffic is determined by a glance, quickest on horn, or largest vehicle. On the last one except for suicidal scooter drivers, they are smallest and operate on the fact that no one want to kill them because of the hassle invilved afterward. LOL

November 2 is All Souls Day holiday for catholics. We commemorate the souls of our dead loved ones by visiting their gravesite.
I would not lie, I have this unquenchable thirst, almost like a magnet, to go to the Philippines that I cannot fully explain. I worked South East Asia for 5 years ending at the end of 2016 but I have a lot of other ex-coworkers that don't share the same sentiment as I do. Jump high or low, as long as I have the breath of life in me I will be there in a year or 2. I'm glad I subbed to this channel.

Hello this is a great interview man I like this guy he’s just staring out into space telling stories and you’re just taking down that information if this pandemic wasn’t going on I’d definitely come out there and check it out what’s weird is I have a brother I don’t really talk to him anymore but he was married to a Filipino girl and I think she’s from that Mindanao area and she became Americanized she split from him after she got her full of whatever it is citizenship

It’s looks like a place to have a fairytale life,but it has issues like high traffic deaths and other problems,Dennis obviously has ,I get the impression the abundance of available women may have turned his head,but as a realist and atheist I find it hard to swallow, I will stop over and visit Bali on our trip to Oz after COVID-19

What's good about driving in the Philippines is Predictability. Most drivers pretty much predict what the other driver will be doing next so they are ready to react to it.
Mark the Plumbing Co called HPS Mech Inc and we did the High School plumbing in Sanger seems pretty Kool to see Guy from my Area or State living there iam now retired at 61 and also married to a Filipina from Balonga,area but just the time I spent there 4 weeks time and 3 times total don't know if I could live there full time but keep up the good interviews
enjoy guys and please protect yourselves from any form of scams... there's always an opportunist everywhere you go so please be careful... there's nothing wrong to be less trusting to anyone even your own family. all of us must have that sort of reservation for us and keep that tightly within us specially when it comes to money...
I think also... because living in a foreign land attracts expats of a certain adventurous type... it is easy to find likeminded souls, I suppose.
And yes, you are right about some who have stayed too long and are now just complainers.

Yes, what a great 4 part...Denise is as I would say a like spirit and of same in all respect, intellect and background and experiences...left Thailand after 3 years forced corona but saw the writing in January back to Alberta. Have been to the Philippines many times and decided that's where I'm heading soon (can't wait for a language break), and as travel, permits to meet up with a long time Filipino penpal over 2 years now. She as well says she is divorced thought that was interesting topic that it's illegal, wow, maybe she thinks annulment is the same as. At any rate, been there many times and looking forward to the beautiful Islands again. Great series and enjoyed...peace and stay healthy.

Maybe she is divorced obtained in another country. My understanding is if a woman is divorced in another country, if the husband initiates the divorce it is recognized here, but if she initiates, then it is not recognized. Not sure if that works the same way for men or not.
You're right about that when you mention that the people who are out for a cheap scam often draw in the same people who are out for a cheap scam. It is the law of attraction.

Get into a discussion with Dennis about growing up in the Seventh-day Adventist Church. He seems to want to talk about it anyway. I grew up in that same church, left in my early 20s. I am 64 now, but their apocalyptic theology haunted me for years after I left.
@@everymanhasastory Thanks! He is a very interesting interview! The “Branch Davidians” of Waco, TX (that went up in flames) were a fundamentalist split from the main Seventh-day Adventists. David Koresh was obsessed with SDA apocalyptic teaching. The government actually played right into his teaching. SDAs have long taught that the government (the world) would come down on them because of their unique teachings.

Every time I go to the Philippines, I always ask myself the same question. Why is there not any Filipino Nascar racers? They are amazing drivers at inches apart. Zoom, Zoom! Great videos. I always try and find out peoples stories and how they ended up on an island with no running water and electricity when I go there.

Communicating with a language barrier was interesting and it happens with babies and their parents too and even animals to a degree. We can understand what they are trying to say.

I love this interview. "Telepathy" is one word. I usually explain it to my husband as "intuition" or "instinct." You stay on the roads often enough and you develop that "instinct." I drive like a mad woman thru Manila streets and in my 56 years of driving there, I had been in only a couple of accidents and that was because I was a newbie and just learned to drive. While here in the US, even here in rural Missouri, I marvel at how often there are road accidents and even deaths, when the US has got the widest roads, beautiful, strict road laws, etc. And yet, so many people die so often. Why?

The speed limit in the u.s. makes drivers bored and unattentive gets in even sleepiness and thats what cause the problems.
The bikes , cars and trucks are generally more powerful, so you can push the limits more easily
It's not bad drivers that cause all the car accidents in North America . It's the sentence " I HAD THE RIGHT-OF-WAY " that causes ALL the problems on the road in N. America .

Filipino old religions are fascinating. Spain had a huge influence on us, but man... them old religions often did make more sense.
Go look up the old Filipino traditions and religious practices of pre Spaniard Filipinos. The way they structured male and female relationships is very fascinating. Not as strict as the Victorian Spaniard model forced upon the population. If only more people knew.

The guy is married to a Filipina and teaches Bible like you’ve never heard before, in particular what interested me was his teachings that the Philippines was an important place in Bible times and a source for the gold in solomons temple and he proves scripturally that the garden of eden was in the Philippines ect ect.

HI guys!..Although a lot of people speak English there, ..there's still a lot of people who cant understand because of education...some left school earlier or financially cant afford to go higher education...and because English is their second language,some people are not bothered unless needed...people's interaction with foreigner may varies...its still a developing country...and you are in the country side which is less busy so you tend to stick which is in there...if you travel to MANILA's cities...you will find more intelligent people and less stress because all you need is there but slightly higher...my advice is when you are a foreigner,give yourself more time before settling down..just relax first, find friends...interact to locals...FRIENDSHIPS in the PHIL is a big thing...once you find a real good friend they stick with you forever...FILIPINOS loves emotional oftenness because most people have a natural epathy towards people...Filipinos dont like complaining ...most of the time just do your best and GOD take care of the rest attitude...We are happy people wether we're poor or rich...if there's a material possessions, its just like a bonus...take care guys GOD BLESS!

Motorbike discussion at 3.00 minutes referring to speed on motorcycles. Well sometimes some people can get away with it. Within a year of marrying my filipina wife she got a phone call while we were socialising at a friend's house. Her sister's husband who was even wearing a helmet had a bad motorbike crash and ended up in hospital. Two days later we were at a wedding reception and another phone call stating that he had died! What a horrible shock to the family this was and as a result it has made life really hard for her. Just sayin'.
