Parliament should step in and not only strip the Sussex titles, but also decree that MM is prevented from using ANY royal title, including Princess Henry. The rationale should be that Harry will remain Prince because he is the King's son, but MM has no royal blood, is not from the UK, and will not be recognized by any title stemming from her marriage to the Prince as she has acted in a divisive and hostile way towards the country those titles represent. M disrespected the Queen of the world. And should have been held to account then. If it had been any other person out of Royalty what would the out come have been then.or now. So then she asked her film star friends to introduce her to P.Harry so M cld be in with Royalty. Then she disrespected the Queen of our World. M also was unpleasant to a young royal child. I am English, I love the Prince and Princess of Wales however, tonight I have made the decision that IF something isn't done about Meghan and Harry to stop them in their tracks, then I have to stop following the Royal Family in news because it's eating me up to see the King being so weak and having to watch the Princess of Wales repeatedly trashed. It's a matter of justice.
I am amazed that the head of the British government and state are unelected buffoons. The British people should rise up and join the 21st century. Their economy and culture is in shambles and the King and his Prime Minister are just ... dithering. Americans, Germans, the French, the Russians, the Italians, the Chinese and all these republics could not have been all wrong.
While I share your frustration, I'm sure there are wheels within wheels within the palace, trying to find a solution. There are so many angles to look at.
If they take the titles, Harry will use his birthright title and Meghan could call herself Princess Henry but I'm sure she'd call herself Princess Meghan (incorrectly).
They might try putting the titles into abeyance which could be OK but parliament has some say in all this. I'm sure at this time Charles isn't speaking with his son and a lot of what we hear about their family situation such as Charles keeping the door open for Harry, is media spin or Harkle PR spin.
We won't know any plans until they get carried out. Just like the loss of Frogmore. It probably took a year to implement but we didn't hear about it until it happened. Something is brewing but no one is talking. Well see it unfold at the right time.

Instead of just stripping the Duke/Dutchess titles, they should REDUCE the titles to Non-Hereditary titles: Knight of Sussex and Dame of Sussex, thus making the children Esquires. That way she is NOT Princess Henry and they have LOST the titles.

Thank you Brittany for no longer calling them Duke and Duchess of Sussex, as a Sussex resident I have not given them their titles since the Oprah interview, I just call them Harry and Meghan, as they do nothing for Sussex so do not deserve their titles. My personal experience has been that when children misbehave without consequence they continue to push boundries. This is exactly what we are witnessing. They need to have their toys taken away (titles) and time out. It needs to happen swifftly. Otherwise permission is being given to others to misbehave . Where is the respect?

Like all monarchs, King Charles didn't really raise his own children. He had a lot of help. Well, this is part of having to handle your own grown son. No matter how painful it is, it is time to put your foot down. Harry and Nutmeg are affecting a whole country.
Like anyone who has a high powered job, there will be others actively raising their children. However, that doesn’t take away from the fact that he is a parent, and had a relationship with Harry, even if distant. You make a lot of good points. The British press needs to do a poll asking what the British people want vis-a-vis the Harkles titles. Take the royals out of their bubble and show them what the people expect.
It also takes a weak parent to not be able to stand up and show his children that actions have consequences. And that weakness is what KC is showing the world, as well as his inability to put the monarchy in front of his personal feelings. He can throw a stupid temper tantrum over a pen during his coronation, and in front of worldwide cameras. So why not show a bit of that grit needed for him to be an effective king and deal with that dumb son?
This amendment to the 1917 Titles Deprivation Act would strip them of ALL titles, not just Duke. At this point it must be done. I heard the website will be redone next month but that's not enough.

Yeah, my understanding is that Hazno would be a lowly "sir" and MeAgain would be "Lady" lol, what a comedown from Duke and Duchess. The fake kids would also lose their fake titles. As for me, I lost most of the respect I used to have for King Charles and supporting such low characters, shows he not only enables it, but is betraying the british people, while giving the middlefinger to all, who believe in moral values. Imo, H has behaved so viciously and as a traitor in so many ways, he should be stripped of the Prince title as well.
It is not the King’s decision to take the titles, it is up to Parliament. The king can ask and advise, but he cannot demand, by the rules of our constitutional monarchy. His powers are very limited. If William is to inherit his birthright, the King must tread carefully. How do we know he hasn’t already asked? We wouldn’t be told.
We need to stop calling the King weak - because if by these standards he is weak, then so was the late Queen, and I don’t hear anyone saying that. More push back has happened under the King’s reign than before it, and it’s only been a year, during which he’s still been mourning his mother and father. Give him a break.
And they weren’t ‘given’ Frogmore Cottage - they were given a LEASE to live there while they were working royals.

There have been petitions, both from the general public AND from members of Parliament, because their behaviour IS starting to give Britain a negative image. And, as an English woman, I am finding these attacks on our royal family very upsetting. 3 recent members of my family have worked for the RF, met the Queen and the then "young" prince's (Charles and Andrew) so my family takes all this bs from the Ginger and The Whinger very much to heart.

As I’ve said before , getting him off the Counsellor of State and RF website takes him away from the UK constitution and the Institution of Royalty which also means HRH title…He will still be a member of the family the titles of Duke and Duchess or Prince or Princess mean nothing without the HRH in front of them.. So many people are either given names of Prince and Princess or nicknamed Duke or Duchess.. so no big deal there and clears the way for KC to do this for the State not family..
There is a ground swell of people here in the Uk to strip them of all the titles and remove H and his children from the line of succession. MP's constituants are calling for their representatives to support this bill .

I think it is too early. We don’t know what is happening behind the scenes. Harry could be done with Meghan. Harry could be talking to Charles on the phone to figure out damage control. The easiest solution is for Harry to leave. Harry goes into hiding and Meghan gets a job on home shopping network with no titles for her or kids.

Does anyone else think that William will put his foot down with his dad and say enough is enough? We have seen William in the past say enough is enough…he told the Queen that if Andrew was part of the specific ceremony after he was banished then William said he would not attend. The King just has to say, while I will always love my son, his behaviour can no longer go unchecked and there are consequences therefore the following will happen effective Jan 1, 2024.

The way I understand it is if Harry’s “Prince” title held in abeyance H & M cannot use it. If she doesn’t have a title she’ll file for divorce. After the divorce is final the Prince title can be taken out of abeyance.

While I sympathize with the way the king must feel about the estrangement with his younger son, I also think that if he doesn’t do something constructive about the situation, he will end up scuttling his regency, and possibly destroying the monarchy.
I have spoken with people who have spent time with Charles. They described a kind, considerate, man who would go out of his way to help other people. He personally intervened to help a young woman achieve her ambition to become a wood carver. We know the lady in question, she faced many challenges joining an elite group of older men, she had nothing but kind words for Charles. I don't think the general perception in the UK is that Charles is weak, rather that he is trying to deal with his mentally ill son and his lowlife wife in a compassionate manner.
I live in Sussex, which has a magnificent history of liberal thought and defence of personal freedom stretching back 1500 years. To say that I find it offensive to have Sussex linked to these two self-serving, dim, individuals would be putting it mildly.

The balance of powers between the monarchy and Parliament is delicately poised and must been seen to be in accordance with the constitutions not only of England, but also of Scotland.
Nobody wants to provoke civil unrest or give the nationalists more reason to complain.
That said, I am sure that there is truth in your observations, the current government is under huge pressure because even moderately wealthy families are struggling with the cost of living. Charles has long been an advocate of the green agenda which is viewed by many as an unnecessary burden in a time of austerity.

Edit: we think that it’d be better for Charles to take the titles, but I think that he’s still holding on the hope that his son will come home, maybe he is kind of grieving for all the good memories, and he’s obviously sad to have to let it all go, especially as he’s aging, no one would ever want to be treated like that by a family member. Harry cannot be stripped of his Prince title. He was born a prince. They can, however, strip away the Duke of Sussex title.
@kellieheald, it can be put into "abeyance." That means it CANNOT be legally used. The King would have to do that after the other titles have been stripped. The HRH had already been put into abeyance by QEII before they left for Canada and hasn't been reinstated. The most important thing, in my opinion, is that he and his children be permanently removed from the line of succession. That's what I think should happen. They can keep the titles. It won't mean anything, but taking them out of the succession line would be a MAJOR blow. MHO.
