      Make sure to use Stereo or Mono. I was using Mono but Switched to Stereo and it worked.

      Excellent advice for high pitched sound when recording PC sound with Audacity! Uncheck Enable audible input monitoring in Audacity 3.5.1.

    Great video, thanks for sharing this. Side note, you can select the host from the main screen in Audacity, you don't need to go into the settings.

    Works like a charm for newer Windows, like older tutorials didn't because you had to have "Sterio Mix" for it to work.

    did everything as you said, but it gives me a "error opening sound device" error, changing the rate does not fix it either. (using sound blaster gc7 sound card)

      Try changing your audio channel from mono to stereo (the button in between recording and playback), if that doesn't work, keep trying to change it to a higher number.

      @@2apur I just changed to stereo, but now it just doesn't record, even tho I pressed the record button. On the left side of the screen there is a little red arrow pointing downwards, but in the video it's green. I kinda suspect that.

    Just to say about this option that you need to record in stereo mode 2 channels. If one channel is selected error appears

    It says "Error code: -9996 Invalid device" When I pick "(Realtek(R) Audio) (Loopback)" option. Could you maybe know the cause for that?

      Dude look up CZcams-DL or CZcams-DLG, you can download video/audio from a lot of sites like youtube.
      If you want music, use soulseek.

    Is the sound quality as good or better than recording from an external source like from an iPhone or iPad?

      When I use this, the sound quality of the recorded audio is a bit lower than what it was recording. It sounds like it was recorded from an external device, so I'd say it's about as good as such. Unless there are some other settings that improve the sound quality that I don't know about.

    one thing to note.... for me it worked only in 2 channel track..... it wont work on mono channell track..

    Hi, When a song is playing the green volume bars are moving as they should but the purple graphical readouts are barely adjusting, they're a thin 1/8 of an inch thick line that correspond to the dynamics of the song but are no way visually broad as in your video. Is there a setting I'm missing? Tx!

    Nice instructions, but you don't have to go to the Edit > Properties for that. Just use Edit bar options. Just my 2 cents. )

    This is not working for me. When I choose the WASAPI, i get an error. When I change it to windows primary driver, it will record, but sounds terrible

    Idk y it’s not working for me. I just used CZcams for an a cappella and it didn’t show that it was recording anything. Was I supposed to wear headphones or something
