Walter gives us 1 minute of pure guitar magic! This is one of of his best intro's I have heard of this song. He was in the Zone to the very last hit! The ladies, drums and horns put the "First Back in Class"!
Hermosa version de Dirty Work! Con todo respeto a David Palmer, esta version esta de poca madre. Las voces son increibles! Muy bueno el solo de Walter (RIP) al comienzo de la rola tambien.
They probably should have put this in the vault in terms of live performances …. I’m no fan of Palmer, but obviously this is the one song he should sing.
Always kinda wondered why Steely Dan never got Skunk Baxter and or Micheal MacDonald back in the fold. Denny Diaz had no interest I read. David Palmer and their drummer....dunno.
The vocal performance is great but doesn’t fit the subject of the song. For a performance that much better fits, from the point of view of a really p*ssed off lover, take a listen to Anita Pointer killing it on the Pointer Sisters’ version from 1978. czcams.com/play/PLoptx_QotyOzUiWi8g-BlgjGQrEVDz82C.html&feature=shared
Why is there a chick singing this song? I’m going to see them in September and if there’s a chick singing this, my favorite song I’m going to be pissed.
Walter kills the intro guitar work in this live version. The audience got its money's worth and then some. Terrific vocals.
Steely Dan never ceases to conduct 100% pure Awesome Music.
One of the great songs of the 70s. High school memories

The beautiful and talented Carolyn Leonhart on the left…
Walter Becker was a seriously underrated guitarist!!! The guitar intro here, and the solo on the album version of Josie are proof.
Guitar work off the top is incredible.
Dam that singer is really fine and has a beautiful singing voice too 😯
oh yeah. that's some mighty fine guitar work.
I like it. Sounds soft jazzy. Vocals and instrumental are top notch.
most beautiful woman and back vocal Caroline
It
Yes
Love this version 💯
Carolyn & Cindy 🙌🏾🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️
I want this played on the day I retire.
Carolyn Leonhart looking and sounding like the goddess she is.
It feels better coming from the male singers point of view. This sounds a little muddled. Worth it for Walt’s intro 😊
Very soulful.
It's a brilliant song and that will never change. However, it felt like each musician was trying to show off and fill every space in the song
Yep
Didn’t work for me... dirty or not.
Fair evaluation!
thats what they do
thats what concerts are
@@samgdp5952 that's not how it should be
I think this is a very good version.
Gospel overlay on jazz-inflected rock, cool.
What a great song….
gorgeous
Miss you Walter❤
I like what they did with this. Different, but very good.
This one goes to God.
Wow!
Hermosa version de Dirty Work! Con todo respeto a David Palmer, esta version esta de poca madre. Las voces son increibles! Muy bueno el solo de Walter (RIP) al comienzo de la rola tambien.
Some songs are meant to stay the same sounding genuine feel. This song originally has a Vintage 70s feel of that cool Rock era.
They probably should have put this in the vault in terms of live performances …. I’m no fan of Palmer, but obviously this is the one song he should sing.
Walter. The guitarist lyricist.
A version but not a patch on original sorry
To me it's gotta be Palmer singing or forget it
Why is there not a single video of David Palmer singing? Seems odd.
SAD BUT MEMBERS HAVEPASSED AWAY
Slay
Ouch.
sao eles mesmo?
Carolyn
Tried to listen to this after listening to the original. Big mistake!
They do add an extra chord in there.
who is thatblack singer?
Id like to hear it sung by Donnie
Donnie Osmond?
Always kinda wondered why Steely Dan never got Skunk Baxter and or Micheal MacDonald back in the fold. Denny Diaz had no interest I read. David Palmer and their drummer....dunno.
Skunk is too busy being a defence consultant and Hodder sadly drowned in 1990.
It was over sang & the vibe was lost. Nice voice for something more fitting for her tho.
Different take I suppose but it's not the pointer sisters for me sorry
Too much improvisation with the singing. WTF?
who is this girl? she's good.
Did Fagen ever sing this?
Yes on the record version
@@lalalooloo David Palmer is the lead singer. Fagen and Becker are back-up singers.
@@tooma4886 wrong. Fagan and Becker were never back-up to their own songs

So bad..and its still gooooood....
Love the Dannettes, but love the original version of this better.
I always thought a woman needed to sing this!
Like your dirty laundry
Totally agree 💯
Carolyn !
The original singer had a very nice falsetto-like voice.
Nah this aint the fucking national anthem
It's ok but the original is the way to go classic
Not meant to by done by female voice, and please don’t jump on me. I love so many women’s songs. But not this song. It’s sacred and should be kept so.
@@jaidyn1376 want some cheese to go with that whine?
Great - sounds almost like a gospel
👍 DONALD + ? MANY OTHER ! A GOOD DEAL.
Yeah no
put playback speed on 1.25
Why are the girls singing this???
to give them a little chance to shine and show off their talents.
Screaming meemees!!talent?
A critic?
improvement on the original and that's something!

Chauvinists to the end. RIP Donald Becker, whacked in a sinking condo.
Why is there a chick singing this song? I’m going to see them in September and if there’s a chick singing this, my favorite song I’m going to be pissed.
This missed for me, Lost the soul of the original. This type of gospel singing makes all songs sound the same sometimes. Sounds like a wedding band.
Nice arrangement. The Girl's were a little out of tune though.
Don’t care for this version at all.
This version is contrived sounding and basically sucks compared with the original.
They sure trashed this classic.
Ross sang it better, on The Voice!
Great sounding vocal ability, but this was WAY too much. Just killed the entire vibe of the song for me.
Nope, dont like it at all.
Vocals did a disservice to the song. Live is live but vocals were over the top. I hope Fagan and Becker told them to tone it done.
Shit.
It was an embarrassment to the great song and original version.
they ruined this song
Horrible and flat
Original much better
