Never removed a circuit breaker from a box before so thanks for that but being electrically inclined I did turn off the main prior to testing. Unfortunately there are a multitude of nonces out there so agree, a comment is really not sufficient.
This was the fourth video I watched, but you’re the only one who showed a trick to get the breaker out with something other than your hands. Mine was jammed in good and needed the leverage from the screwdriver, thank you for this. (:

Alert: Turn off main power before removing panel
My LG Appliance technician suggested I might be able to replace 220V double pull breaker and after viewing this video and a trip to Ace Hardware I accomplished the repair in 50 minutes start to finish without shock or electrocution

You forgot to mention that the wires you pulled out of the breaker are HOT and that you are working HOT in the panel because you did not turn off the main breaker!
Thanks for the comment. Once you turn off the breaker the wires and screws are not hot. Completely off. Use a voltmeter and test it yourself.

those wires are not hot... the breaker connects the panel to those wires so if the wires are not getting power through the breaker it means they are dead
Hot diggety - don't think I would have discovered that without someone showing me.. the slot to help remove .. going to save me a lot of time removing breakers from my slightly corroded aluminum bus bars

what you are looking for is at 3:45
so what do you do with those removed open wires. Do you leave them dangling?
It's best to cap the ends with a wire nut or wago and tuck the wires in safely along the side away from the breakers 🍻

Is your safety equipment electrically rated for that job ? I'm not trying to be mean. Just that I have a doubt.
Good question. Safety glasses yes, gloves probably not but I am a certified electrician. PPE is the last line of defense if an accident does occurs.
Thanks for a clear video. Hey, so I was checking a friend's circuit and ...with cover panel still on, when we tripped it off, the breaker tipped out easily on its own... I guess that's a sign it is not seated well (or at all), right? Shouldn't it take more than the force of moving the breaker switch to tip it out like that?
Hi J, yes you are absolutely correct! The breaker should never ever tip out. That's scary man. It's either broker or not installed properly. Breakers are supposed to stay secured and tight. Stay safe my friend 🍻

Is it safe to not replace the breaker and just leave the open slot it as is? I want to remove my hot tub breaker and take the huge wire to my new house.
You absolutely can do that but you should get what's called a breaker filler. Essentially it's a plastic cover to the empty slot 🍻
Had a breaker keep kicking, check wiring, checked outlet, checked everything,..
inside the main fuse panel box the wires are run nice and neat, one wire was rubbing against the inside of the metal panel fuse box,
and had burnt a hole thru the plastic around wire,
and you could not see it,
it only left a little blackburn spot on panel box,but wire covered up the tiny burnt spot.
we finally discovered it on the inside of the fuse panel box, by inspecting one wire at a time, and found burnt spot on back of one wire.
I actually came across that recently on my friends panel. Luckily it was easily visible. Good catch! That can be very dangerous! Yikes. 🍻
Or take the circuit breaker off then removing wires that way your not still connected to the bus bar when loosing the set screw that holds the cable.

What if the breaker has failed and is red?Does that mean the power is off?
If the breaker has failed and is still "RED" that means the power is still ON. The breaker is not off. Current is still running through the wires. Cheers!
And what do you do with those wires
If you're not using them. Cap them off and tuck them in the back corner furthest away from the breakers
Hello frnd.......kindly tell me if we remove a damage/trip breaker or other working breakers so is it ok to unscrew it without turning off the main breaker inside the panel ???
Hello there, there is a risky but you'll have to be very careful! Make sure the damaged breaker is turned off if you can put it in the off position. Wear gloves and eye protection. Also when removing the wire from the breaker, you should have a volt tester to make sure there is no power. If there is still power, you'll have to be very careful not to get shocked and best to use insulated screwdriver 🍻

Also tell me after removing the wires out of circuit ,is it ok to keep them bare inside the panel till v get another breaker widin a few days
Yes, tuck them nicely along the outer edges. Furthest away from the breakers. You can also cap them off too making it extra safe 🍻
