its rain , not a hurricane and right now its the rainy season. accidents happen because it does not rain much to wash oil from streets. not the oil builds up and it rains becoming slippery
My first major hurricane was hurricane opal at least from what I can remember I was nine talking lots of rain, hail, No power
What non-Californians need to understand is that these weather events are exacerbated by a thoroughly incompetent utility company called PG&E. Though unusual, this storm is by no means out of the norm. We have a utility that is not able to provide generation, transmission and service In the natural environment of this state. When will its operating license be pulled?

No one said that. It's been well established that climate change is going to cause whiplash between extreme drought and rain for much of CA. That's exactly what we are seeing.
We had similar in Australia. Now that it's over all our dams are full to the brim. Sometimes good things come from bad.

I'm so excited for us to fill our lakes, reservoirs and water bed. We really need this rain. Hopefully it lasts a while. I'm sorry for all those affected.. but we can't keep living out here in severe drought with empty reservoirs. The last couple few years had made life better for many more than it's hurt and that will spam decades into the future.
They should find a way to way to save that water to fight their fires in summer. Or drought issues... oh ..that's right they have a Democrat running the show in California..
