I got very proficient at reciting the history of how Puerto Rico became part of the US, due to the jerks in middle school telling me I was going to be deported. They eventually stopped because they were tired of the history lesson.

I also had a crap boss who threatened my job. I went to HR who e-mailed her. I was then fired for causing an emotional disruption in the workplace. basically I wouldnt smile and take her BS so she fired me. I ran into an old coworker a few years later who said nearly everyone under her quit or got fired. small grace is they didnt challenge my unemployment filing.
I don't know where the stereotype of Canadians being nice comes from, because it sure as hell isn't true for the majority.

Ok, I admit to literally laughing out loud at the joke in fluffy's story. Not because the joke itself was all that funny, just the situation, and sheer cringe factor.
Right after no one laughed he should have said, I guess I was the one that bombed.
What joke
I loved the sarcasm about Jan and the reference to her being Canadian means she is nice. I am Canadian, most of us are nice but I will say the majority of us are overly polite, we say sorry to almost everything, even when we know we didn't do anything wrong. LOL.Even if we don't hear something someone says often times you will hear us say "sorry" instead of pardon..LOL. I have worked with asshats like jan, I always promised myself that if I was to ever have a position where people answer to me, I would never speak to anyone that way and I have stayed true to that. I have a fair size of staff under me and they all know they can come to me with anything, even if they screwed up, we will find a way to fix it and I wont sink to yelling at anyone over mistakes. I would rather have my workers respect than to have them fear me. I want them to know I will stand with them to help fix the issue even if it means having to go admit their mistake to the big boss, even my bosses appreciate it.. There is no reason that any work place should cause someone such stress just thinking about having to go in the next day. I like the 2nd supervisor, he will go much further in his field than Jan ever will.

Sorry rather than pardon is probably due to our uptight British background. Many of us were born to Brits who married Canadian soldiers during WWII. The snootiest ones like my mother would be horrified by the word pardon informing us it spoke to our class which I have always found hilarious. Who gives a darn Instead we were supposed to say Excuse me or I'm sorry as a question. I guess the old Brits have had more influence than many of us thought.
Did you know that there is a law in Canada that states you can not be found at fault just because you say SORRY. Because we use it so much if you get into a car accident and you where not the one at fault saying "omg i'm sooo sorry about your car" it is not an admission of guilt it's considered a pleasantry and will not be held agents you .
@@croach2194 yes I think so, Iâm British, we say it a lot. We do say pardon as well though. That might be more a Canadian adaptation (or Iâm wrong, I donât claim to know the whole of our history)

Same XD In those days I always rewatched fluffs videos (still do actually, only with a much bigger pool of choices), cause, in my opinion, his voice and his storytelling are among the best on YT. You can relax, lean back, and just listen. By other CZcamsrs I often find myself reading along, cause they speak with heavy accent/dialect/both or their voice/storytelling make me feel restless and kinda uncomfortable.

Great stories, Fluffy! My last job was at a small retail establishment where 90% the employees (including the owner), were horribly racist! Not just a few bad jokes, but straight up racist banter all fucking day long. I worked with my husband, who is Native American, but as he was in a different department, didn't experience the constant barrage of bullshit that I did. One of the truly low points was one of the sales guys making a joke about the Native American genocide! What the actual FUCK!!!!
