Tried booking a qatar airways first class for Jan 2025 after checking it on British airways website and then called qantas as you said but they said its not available not sure what to do?

Hi Raymond! I tried the BA site and couldn't get any flights to show up - I don't know if it was properly showing all the partner airlines. Do you have any advice there? I also joined the Japan Airlines site but I need to wait 60 days before I can use it. I did, however, use your "multi-city" trick and it worked. I am going to Japan next year and used your advice to secure these flights with classic rewards. I'm currently gold QFF status. The "normal" method wasn't showing anything, so your advice has helped me greatly, and I greatly appreciate it. Thanks so much! Richard.

Awesome tips thank you, is there a way to do this with velocity? I certainly struggle to get business class to/ from USA, can find the odd premium economy seat at best.
Hey mate, I can look into potentially doing one, but as Velocity isn't a part of any airline alliance it might not be as good as Qantas in this example!

any method to search for non-direct reward flights?
So, for method 3, would the available flight be reward points or normal points? for example, a rewards point can be 150k Qantas point, but using only Qantas points would be 2twice the reward points!
Qantas just needs to offer more premium cabin rewards flights 😅 … excellent tip re BA..

Tried the third method, found the business class reward seats on a Qatar flight from Brisbane to London via the British Airways site. I then called Qantas to book the classic rewards seats and the Qantas staff member could not see the same rewards seats that I could. Not sure if this was because I am only at Bronze level or not.

Hi Raymond, I think Qantas may have taken down that (2) booking route you mentioned. It definitely worked the first time I tried it - i.e. showing all the class options on the larger calendar - but now it doesn't seem to be showing that same page; I can't seem to get there anymore. I wonder if you're still able to find it??

Qantas recently revamped how reward flights are searched for... so I might need to make an updated video on this one. I have another superannuation video coming out hopefully in the near future :)

Idk how you got so many premium cabins from Melbourne to Amsterdam. I tried it in June 2024 and it just gave me an error code or one economy seat on a random day
hey mate love the content! just a note the BA hack does not work anymore when booking in advance. You can only book qatar seats using Qantas points 30 days before departure

this is good but i don’t think that you can use the last method with emirates as BA is not an Emirates partner. Qatar is still good though.
They announced today (23/10/23) extra seats. I’ve been looking for the last 6 weeks every possible routing - direct, vis Dubai, via Singapore, Hong Kong, the US, etc. I’m flying end of July ‘24. Finally today got myself in business class today to the UK for next year!

Tried the axiom method by calling Qantas and they told me no flights were available despite them showing on BA's booking site. Do I have to tell them the specific flight number and carrier. Sorry it's not clear from your video who you call and what you ask for.
How do we know how many qantas points we need when we are looking from British airways site?

Hi Raymond, I tried your trick of finding flights on BA and then calling Qantas.......doesn't work. After being on hold for 40 mins I was told that "just because you can see them on BA's site doesn't mean we can book them". Am I doing soemthing wrong? Did I just get the wrong support person?
Hey mate, unfortunately there were some changes and you can only book qatar seats using Qantas points 30 days before departure!
Hi @@raymondla I didn't mention anything about Qatar seats. I went to the BA site, found BA flights (BA0015 to be exact), called Qantas and they had no visibility of the reward seats for that flight. Again, am i doing something wrong?

Hey mate, if you have a Citibank credit card you can use their Citi PayAll feature to pay your rent and get Citi reward points

You'd have to directly book via Qatar to use your avios points

QANTAS in 2023 is crap. Business class is old. Seats are bad. Food is rubbish. Qantas club is horrible. Dirty with poor food. I wouldn’t recommend this airline. Ever
