    I came in out the blue last year and got super lucky because Vic was there and he had Alex give me a full tour of the place. Got to see so much heat in the back and Alex was really knowledgeable and nice about everything. I got to select some really nice pieces and he shipped them to me when I was back home. The shop is awesome and I can't wait to visit again soon. Great behind the scenes video!

    I visited WWC superstore 3 weeks ago and every time I visit the store, I get amazed by how clean the store is and how welcoming everyone is, I could not leave without spending money so I placed an order and it was delivered when I get back to New York from my trip, I saw Vic stepping out of the store for lunch or something otherwise I would have asked him ton of questions, I saw the 2 large tanks, I think those were 2k gallons each, I did not get chance to see the grow out tanks which was next door but I look through the doors and felt like scientists working at Jurassic Lab lol, coral frags we see on their website are the true colors because I have seen those with my own eyes, it is good thing I don't live in Florida otherwise I would spend 1 of my paycheck at the store every week on corals. Thank you for WWC staff for the tour of the store and giving time which I was buying corals with no pressure from them at all,

    • @jdearel1
      @jdearel1 Před měsícem

      Why not try? There is never harm in going down. The worst case scenario is dulled down colors or darkening. Which is easy to come back from. Higher light is much worse to come back from. But as mentioned in previous videos. Do everything slow and methodical. Best case scenario you end up with better coloration..

    • @mikew4435
      @mikew4435 Před měsícem

      @@jdearel1 exactly. I am definitely going to lower my overall par. Waiting to get the par meter from my local club. The thing is that I increased my white channels a little while lowering my blue channels, I just want to make sure I actually lowered the par!!! I have seen good results from adding a bit more white, as I believe it excites some pigments in some corals. Reds look deeper, and blues pop more which is counterintuitive!!

    the least easily fluctuating parameters are Ca & Mg. as long as you do your schedules water changes in a MIXED REEF, the only thing you need to maintain is alkalinity, NO3 & PO4. the rest is all about sticking to the same regimen everyday or every week or however often you’ve put together a schedule. just like keeping dogs, you need to feed it 2x/day, take it out for a walk daily, the way to keep a reef at home is just that. keeping a schedule

    what do you recommend to get rid of xeina coral. it is taking over my tank, i have other corals and sea anemones that i purchased from you guys. i dont want to disturb them by taking out the rock.

    • @WorldWideCorals
      @WorldWideCorals  Před měsícem

      If you have a thin blade you can cut them from the base so it does not kill the coral itself.

    • @jdearel1
      @jdearel1 Před měsícem

      Unfortunately this is the diligence part that has been discussed. You have to do the work. There is no "easy way" don't be afraid to disturb them the will settle back in. You will need to remove the rock, chip it off with a chisel and put the rock back. Or have a new rock ready and fully cycled, and replace it and take the rock to your LFS

    Alkalinity was a big subject on this video. Mine is currently sitting at 9.5 however it is usually between 8-9. My question is...... It's the lower the number the better when it comes to Alk? And how can I lower it?

    • @WorldWideCorals
      @WorldWideCorals  Před měsícem

      9.5 is perfectly fine, the key is to keep it stable and always at 9.5. That being said, if you wanted to lower it, you can discontinue dosing anything that can raise alk, and do a water change with water that has lower alk levels.
