I know you guys have put a lot of work into your channel the last couple years. Just want to say you are going in the right direction. This is the kind of content everyone wants but nobody makes, and you have the tanks to backup what youâre saying. Really great job, please make more videos like this!
Thank you so much for the continued support
Josh needs to make more video's !!!!
đđ
Wow super clear video! Been in the hobby for years and this has been the best lighting video I've seen. Simple and clear
Thank you so much for watching.
It was the best advice anyone had given me over the years. SPS and LPS are booming now. Thank you!
No problem!! đđ
There's so much information in this video, I'm watching it a second time to retain. Josh absolutely broke everything down and dished out knowledge for the common folks
Keep it on that Loop!
Great video josh, i always listened to your approach but never really understood it until this video. 'Back to school with Josh'. Next topic: Flow!
All the team are doing a fantastic job with these videos.
Thank you so much James, I also love the "Back to school with Josh"
This was incredibly helpful, Josh. đđ
No problem Scott!!
Thanks for this video! It helped me understand my lighting much more and how to set a base line and what to do or change over time to continue to work towards the results I want.
Love the technical videos. They compliment the show off videos very well.
Hereâs what good looks like but hereâs how you get there!
So happy we could help! đđ
Amazing video. I learned.
Thank you so much!!
Great job Josh. Please have Josh make more videos!!!!!
We will continue to ask him!!
Omg thank you I have been looking for a video like this for years.
You are so welcome
Absolutely Solid.
Thank you!
The most important n crucial video of this year by far!! Great one Josh. Greetings frm Malaysia
Hello From Florida!!
Josh, thank you so much for breaking this down, and going into such detail about it. I have adjusted my lights accordingly to your directions as a first time LED user. I was just changing and changing because of what other people said that works for them, but I wasnât getting the growth or anything that I wanted. Your video really helped me understand how and what I should do. Thank you again!
You are so welcome!! And thank you for the love and support on the channel.
Fantastic video, thank you for helping us and being so good at it!!!!
Thank you for trusting us! Means the world.
Thank you Josh as always you always gives us tons of information and tips for better ideas..more power
Thank you so much for watching!! We will keep the videos coming. đȘđȘ
I have 4 xo blue strips and 2 Radions over a 120. I found the 4 blue strips put out way more light than I realized. I now run them on setting 3 out of 6 with the Radions at around 43% max with the regular blues turned down on Radions. Corals doing much better. I didnât realize how much I was blasting them. Par meter verified this change.
The coral will tell you if something is wrong, Good for you on watching that and making that change for them.
Hands down the best explaining of lights/spectrum/par video I have ever watched
Thank you for saying that! We are so happy it was able to help
Thanks for this video it was super helpful and very much appreciated. Both you and Vick kill it on this channel. Canât wait till AM to make these much needed adjustments.
Remember to make small changes ok.
Big thank you @worldwidecorals. I had to watch this 3 times to understand.
Fixed my tank my algae is slowly disappearing and Iâm running 12 hour peak at way less light then my 4 hour peak on ab+ itâs amazing. đ
Great Video! I had the AcroOptics light and couldnât for the life of me find any information on them. So I switched to radion xr30âs.
Hey Man, New to the channel and new to the hobby (I put fish in my tank last week) this video was very helpful so thank you for taking the time to create it, I am currently using the Fluval Evo 13.5 and the light on they is full white and blue or just blue so i think i will need to get a light where i can adjust it all, again thank you for all the information keep it coming :)
Thank you josh for your expert video series. they are so useful and based on experience of WWC. you are continuating the work done by ryan on hobby education and i looking very much forward to more content.
even for the non newbie I still learned a lot and more importantly, realized that my template was way too complicated and I probably under lighted my tank.
Going to follow your advice and keepit more simple with peak intensity period, then blue period with 2 simple ramp up and down.
Thank you for all the love and support on the channel, We are so happy that we have been able to help you on this reefing journey.
Yes Josh needs to make more videos. Or maybe we should call him Dr Josh. The information was simple and so easy to understand. That even a cave man can do it now. Thanks again for the video. Iâm going to watch it again,as Iâm sure I missed something.
Pick up as much as you can!!, We will keep the vids coming
Awesome !! Thanks for the info!! You guys answered all my questions!! Kept up the great work!!
Thank you so much!
Great video Josh. Based on this information, I made some changes. Thank you
No problem at all!!
Keep em coming these videos teach me a lot thanks for all tha great advice
We will Kasey!!
Thanks, Josh!
Very helpful.
Thank you for watching! I will pass that along to Josh.
Another great video! Thanks Josh and WWC!!
You are so welcome
Great video!
Sensational video, thank you for sharing your knowledge!
You are so welcome!! Thank you for watching.
Such a great and informative video! Love watching these type of videos. Keep it up WWC đȘđ»đȘžđ
Thank you so much!
These are excellent vids, really well explained đ
Thank you! We love putting out this kind of information for everyone.
this brings me to an undertanding thar I cant force a coral to grow, I can only fufill its needs.
đđ Yesss!!!
Thx!
I downloaded Vicâs template for his office tank. It showing 100% schedule intensity. Is that what you all are actually doing on that tank or is it just a function of the template sharing? Iâve got a similar set up, using Vicâs template but I canât get my schedule intensity much beyond 45%
Awesome video by the way itâs my favorite content on CZcams
I love the radian xr30 pros. I have 7 over my 300 tuned 60 to 40 white to blue on a sunrise to sunset cycle. So far my acros have grown exceptionally well.
Keep up the good work! Remember consistency is key to it all!!
thanks brother. very helpful
Happy Josh was able to fill in some blanks for you.
Itâs funny because Iâve done everything he explained on the white board without even knowing lol. I like to experiment by looking at my corals and how they react and then tweaking.
LOL We could only imagine what your face looked like after realizing that
Thank you so much for these instructions! Been struggling with the right settings. Kind of wish these apps have a set number of defaults for different scenarios with some instructions on why they are set that way.
The why to everything in the future would be an amazing idea.
Thank you Josh for another informative and in-depth video đ„đ„. Would you be able to make another video on flow to show us your thoughts on different modes, how you would position your wavemakers based on the scape of the aquascape and overflow box, etc.?
We got more coming down the pipeline, Thank you so much for watching and the continued support
Great video! I already do several of the same things with my schedules, but I was wondering... What, if anything, do you do differently (spectrum, photoperiod, etc) between different tank/coral types? I mean, obviously the total PAR needs are different, but what do you do differently lighting an LPS tank than you do lighting an SPS tank? Less white for LPS? Shorter photoperiod?
How would you set up a t5 hybrid with LED light ? Great video !!
When are we going to see an update on josh reef tank? Amazing video!
That should be coming up in the near future đđ
Thank you Josh I am loving these videos . See you guys on the weekend.
Hope you had a good time at Rap

Thanks Josh! I have the X4s and vitaminis. I have mostly lps! Any thoughts on how long I should run the minis?
Thanks for supporting dalua! Vitaminis aren't super strong so feel free to run them for an hour or two longer than you're X4 main lighting. By doing that it also offers an awesome ambience for sunrise and sunsets on your reef â€
Thanks! It's taken me a bit to learn how to dial things in appropriately! I just wish the Vitaminis were controlable by the app! Love them though!
@@EmmettRuyle-jf1hk awesome!

After watching this I definitely think I'm under lighting my tank... I have just a golden rod anacorpora & some kind of green acro that ended up browning out. I have a standard 75 gallon tank with 1 xr15 G6, 8 inches off the water, somewhat centered. 60% schedule intensity, 75% intensity(4hrs) 30 min ramp down to 60% intensity (6) .. 30 min ramp ups & downs all blue at end of schedule.. 100% on all blues/royals/UV/, 24%reds, 60% warm white, 100% cool white.. no algae at all besides the lil dust on the glass if I don't scrape it for 3-4 days... I want to add another XR15 G6 when I can afford it.
Lightning could have done that for sure Darryl.
Great teaching Josh! Thank you. You mention the height of the lights from the water being a factor into the percentage of intensity.
Whatâs your recommendation for intensity percentage with AIO tanks with LED in the hood like the Fluval Flex 32g?
Do you know how much par you are getting Matt?
Unfortunately I do not know the par.
Thoughts on reversing the white and blue period? Meaning starting of with the blues and then transitioning to full spectrum at the end of the day. Does it matter?
during the white light period what par do you recommend for a mixed reef with a lot of acros. is 300 at the top of the rocks enough?>
Ive finally gotten my 2year old tank sps capable. About at that 1 month mark from raising flow and lighting(whoops 2 variables) for the acros. Getting alot of hair algae with the changes, but I dont think lowering par would benefit my corals.
Try pulling it out and feeding a little less try not to change lights or flow unless you need more
What are the parameters looking like?
Do u have a schedule that would fit a 20g cube mixed reef for AI prime 16hd? I donât have acros but monti, seria, and hydnopora as sps
11:44 I have an algae problem and was thinking of doing this
Let us know how it goes.
The best
đđ Thank you Jose!
Would I benefit from switching my two Radion XR15wG3 Pros out for some Gen 6's for growing SPS? or will I be okay with what I have?
It would be nice if you could go into more detail using the Mobius app with the Radion lights.
The g3s are absolutely more than enough to grow sps. I'm no expert, but I've got gen 4s. And I grow sps just fine. I think water quality and stability are key. Lighting boosts your water quality and flow
Wouldn't it be great if lighting apps were thoroughly explained by BRS? Read the manual isn't always bringing the answers. I went from Radio to ATI Straton Flex which is a great lamp, but man, this app..... I've had this experience with other apps as well, the producers try to make a video in which they explain their lamps and apps but aren't so well at explaining ....in great detail. Thanks Josh for your well explained video.
Corr.: Radion
We would ask you "How is everything doing as of right now"?
How do you like Dalua illlumagic X4 lights? How would you say they compare to Radion Gen 6 Lights? I am considering new lights for my tank and the Dalua offering has me interested. Replaceable/interchangeable pucks and ability to simulate weather at large reefs. They seem well built with a good app. I know that WWC has been using them on some tanks so I would welcome your feedback and thoughts.
Thank you for watching, If you can please email contact@worldwidecorals.com we can better assist you with that question
Thanks so much for thinking of us. WWC will have you well looked after for information about our lights and of course anything coral! â€
You just answered your own question. Get them!
Just downloaded most of them trying the wp500g over my tank now just added 2 xr15s over my 24x24 tank 12 inches off the water
đ€đ€
If you've had the same schedule for 2 years and you wanted to switch to something like this. How would you go about it?
I think that's a real good question. If you turn down your light schedule there's hardly a problem. If you turn them up, do it in steps of 5%.
Any change you want to do it in small increments, A 5-10% change and see how everything reacts over a couple of days and make another small change if need be.
Thanks guys. I might give it a go. Things are growing but I feel like some of my sps colors are dull.
@@mckinleytam Remember small changes!
For the budget lights can you use Nicrew Hyperreef?
Yeah they work
You could also look at the Pixels which is another DALUA light that's supported and sold by WWC because they use the same technology as the X4 but without wifi and better for smaller reefs đȘ
Do the experiment with a cheap light Try a K7 Noopsyche.
I will pass the idea along.
No love for Kessil here đą lol
đđ€
đ€đ€
how about I put intensity to 100% , then Only adjust the individual percent on the different colour channels ?
How is all the coral doing right now?
What's the par reading for lagoon?
We will find that out for you from the team.
I have a mixed reef. But mostly LPS. Lights are blue 4h full spectrum 4 hours then blue 4 hours. Lights donât have a ramp mode. Should I change to 1 blue 4 FS 7 blue? For better growth? If so can I change it immediately or do I have to do it slowly
If you make any changes Terry make sure you do it over time so you do not shock the system. How is the coral all doing?
What lights do you personally use?
For which system?
@@WorldWideCorals For at home usage For you? Just curious since you said Expensive lighting Is not always needed for successful system. You can go the cheaper route at a certain point.
@@quanhardy1439 Up until recently, XR30's. Just hooked up Dalua x4's last week.
@@WorldWideCorals speaking hypotheticals, Would you hook up an expensive lighting system on a system under 50 gallon? Just curious to when it makes more sense to go with the more expensive lighting.
@@quanhardy1439 Looking at longevity and if you can afford it I would look to get one so you do not have to change it down the line.
Look at what I run PHLIZON from Amazon, Populargrow 470nm blue from eBay 2x, 2X Odyssea dual T5 ATI blue plus bulb from Amazon and LEDNET 2X 440nm and 2X 470 nm blue đ from Amazon..
As long as it is working for you đ€đ€
There's no such thing as a full spectrum led light tho..
The new Hydros XHO is the first full spectrum LEDâs to be introduced to the market
I have been lie to all my lifeđ
