I put Sandy's segment at the end of the video because it was pretty long
The best reason to lower FSD subscription cost is to make autonomous driving ubiquitous. The more miles driven in this mode, the more societal acceptance would rise, leading to more favorable and accelerated regulations and higher ridership of Tesla robotaxi fleet once launched. Also, adoption of the Tesla operating system would be forced on other vehicle makers.
I'd seriously consider it at $99 a month
Get everyone hooked then raise the rate. 😉
@@Mrbfgray Nice thing about subscriptions is we don't have to renew if cost too high :)
@@bsaxman2012 Many good things about subscription option(s). $100/month now.
Those who paid $12k or so for FSD might pout when the price is dropped, but you early-adopters are a valuable part of any process who make these advanced features possible for the rest of us.
You are the real MVPs.
Anybody who paid for FSD upfront should be able to transfer it to newer Tesla vehicles. As early adopters that took the chance on a company long before it became profitable and guaranteed to stay in business, we also have older high mileage cars that we might replace more frequently if we knew that we could transfer FSD based on our schedule, not a random time period that comes and goes.
I say $99 per month if paid full year in advance - no refunds, or $200 a month cancelable anytime
$99 for a 6-month trial period, followed by $199 thereafter.
@@kiaraanderson7990 I'd cancel after 6 months.
@@kiaraanderson7990$99 for 6 months? lol no
Watching the seats and your discussion of Plaid. I was reminded of a science fiction book, where Earth is being destroyed, and a rogue planet comes close and get's captured by the sun. The planet had had a civilization on it before it was sent away from it's parent sun. The Earthlings found vehicles that were travelling a high speeds when the expulsion had happened. I can imagine with FSD at 99% adoption in 10-15 years traffic travelling at plaid or ludicrous speeds on roads developed for them. No accidents...
Elon just tweeted that FSD supervised is now $99/ month
Tesla has given free FSD for a month. Maybe they should just start with 50/month and slowly increase it instead of lowering it more and more. 99usd/month is more than what I pay for gas, so even that seems expensive to me - unless FSD is taking 100% control and I can send it off to eg pick up my kids or something.
This is the correct take. Expediting autonomy is a higher priority than the revenue generation. Turn it on for free for everyone until you get to full autonomy, then price accordingly.
You think if FSD can pick up your kids you can still get it for $99 a month?
You didn’t read his post correctly if you’re asking him that question.
@@singed8853 I think I read his post correctly. He stated he would be willing to pay 99/mo if it could take his kids to school. My point was if it could do that the price would be higher. 99/mo for supervised FSD, once it is unsupervised FSD I think the price will go up.
I am in the middle of my free month of FSD. Unfortunately it is v12.3.3 not the current version. Very disappointing.
Whatever the introduction price decided, its will promote the consumer confidence as they grow. 🙌🏽
This is a great news!
Government All over the World, support BIG OIL with 7,000,000,000,000 $
20 years from now when there’s no traffic, traffic fatalities have fallen 50% and you can get anywhere 2x faster can’t wait
They should give all tesla driver having FSD 8 years at least 1 year free for having the patience to wait 8 years
JUST CONFIRMED: FSD is now $99 per month
I'd subscribe at $99/month, especially if tied somehow to Tesla Insurance. I'd possibly use it on trips a couple times a year at $199/month. Not more. I also think it should be tiered for low mileage, medium mileage, high mileage and ride share drivers. It would especially be a safety boon for low mileage retired folks that would also help with their mobility. Cost per mile would work if the cost is low enough. If not very low cost, people would tend to use the mileage model as little as possible.
Retired folks would benefit from robotaxis the most. They wont need to have a car at all.
I like that idea to limit the time duration for a lower cost FSD.
Take rates are more important in the short term compared to margins. Get everyone hooked and then raise rates like the cable tv companies.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see FSD tiered service levels in time.
At 7:06, it appears as though almost all of that traffic went through Amazon.
This is the best Tesla page
$999 annual subscription would be fair and give them some money. Finally FSD purchase price should be lowered to $5000 with ability to transfer to other car.
The $99/mo. subscription will trigger Tesla-AI's ChatGPT moment and a TSLA-2019 redux.
Seems like desperation to me. Musk is out of levers to pull
I'm about to take delivery of a rwd 2024 M3 with FSD in Canada, and as a buyer it's going to sting if the price gets cut in half after I paid $16k. However as a TSLA shareholder I'm all for it LFG!
I always assumed FSD take rate would go up when it’s L4 or L5.
If you look down the road into the not too distant future, I can see Tesla leasing to all brands for the greater good of all, and even it getting legislated in if millions can be saved from death or injury. Also the saving of body shop repair would add to lower insurance rates.
IMHO Pricing for FSD should be by the mile or per trip. If you are an UBER driver doing 40,000 miles a year then $200 amounts to $0.06 per mile, if you are an average 14,000 miles a year driver that comes to $0.17 per mile. Logistics are already available for Tesla to implement this.
Having a car that includes FSD has to be a great selling point this is iPhone app model and it works
I think these analysts do not understand the technology and will be wrong about when robotaxi will be ready NO MATTER when it is ready. They just wont believe it is less than 10 years out until it is doing driverless drives.
Did you guys forget this quote? "Musk responded, “Well, we just wanted to make it more affordable as more people try it. Yes, I think, over time, the price of FSD will increase proportionate to its value. So, with regard [to] the current price as a kind of a temporary low.”"
Elon estimated Rivian has about 6 quarters to survive. Auto alone is a tough and low margin business. That is why Elon wanted Tesla to be an AI/Robotics company.
You lower the price of FSD and you will get more buyers of Tesla cars ! It’s not just making FSD better . When people compare cars between Tesla and other manufacturers they will choose a Tesla because of its advanced FSD for 99 usd/m
FSD supervised $99 per month, FSD unsupervised $500 per month.
I think we will see the Tesla Model 3 Performance upgrade announced 4/20 ;-)
Good timing Elon just changed FSD PRICE TO $99 per month
Saw a cybertruck in Utica Michigan today
For me, robotaxi is great for my investment, but only makes sense in the city. i live in the countryside. When I decide to go into town suddenly I couldn’t wait for one to be in my area… some investors are hoping for a complete conversion for the robotaxi model. If this becomes the case I will be a tesla investor but not owner
Good idea. It will dramatically increase utilization and data collection, moving FSD forward and killing other manufacturers' efforts at self-driving. Tesla licensing FSD to other manufacturers would increase profits and increase EV adoption overall. Secure Tesla's image as the best technology. Enable Robotaxis sooner.
$99 if it was FSD (not beta or supervised) AND it could save money on car insurance.
FSD should be charged per mile. $99 per month is $5/[work]day. I'm not sure that'd move the needle for me.
I think if Tesla does it in a per mile basis and charges aka cart, just like supercharging. It would have nearly a 100% take rate. But maybe not taken on every drive. Just drives that it adds value.
Cybertruck will be same platform as robotaxi, steer by wire, adjustable height for pickups, and various battery pack options for the next decade; hence the space
Maybe EV drivers should park at the pumps in gas stations when they go in to the convenience store or for the bathroom?
If they would drop the license to 6k I would be much more willing to buy it outright. Making it transferable would also be appealing.
One thing I worry about it being stuck on the current hardware to.
I think that $99 a month is a great price, but people who paid for the FSD option upfront are not going to be TOO happy with this great deal. It will take over ten years for those that have recently prepaid for FSD to just break even, not a good investment IMO. I think it would make sense to have a full commercial version which costs double than the recreational version.
Or better yet, those who paid upfront get to transfer their FSD to their Newer car?
would you buy China BYD car!!! I'm afraid to buy China screwdriver to work become it may not les a day !!!!
Price for FSD is already $99.00
Only if you bought Enhanced Autopilot.
How about $99 per month, or $9999 one-time payment and you can transfer FSD to your next Tesla purchase?
I was thinking of trading insurance premium for FSD as a way to show Tesla’s and Elon’s commitment to increasing safety. I already pay >$210.00 for Tesla insurance, how about setting a percentage of miles using FSD as a transfer to FSD account since the insurance would have a lower experience to losses. My ICE car premium is about $50.00 less per month admittedly for a lower valued car, but according to FSD “hype” more likely to suffer a loss.
Just check it and it shows $99.00 the other day is showed 199.00
I paid $12000 for my FSD , I won’t be pleased with any discount. Pay up or walk
99$/ month AND plus 0.01 $/per miles. FAIR ENOUGH! And maximum 199$ if u want to unlimited miles. And have 2 optional : 1. Run as robotaxi 199$ and u have to pay more 5-10% revenue( at beginning) to using payment system from tesla. Or if u run your own payment system 12.000$ up front.
I think the value of solving FSD first is greatly underappreciated. If Tesla gets there first by years, their system will always be safer than any competitor because of the huge data gap. Safety will make Tesla FSD the stickiest platform in history. Who in their right mind would switch to a competitor with less training data? No one. This is winner take all.
Hahaha the question is “when exactly”? Exactly.
5 dollar will be plenty.
Run the numbers
I would reconsider at $99
Fsd bundle with Tesla insurance will take off soon
The $25,000. car will not be announced until it's very close to production and you will wish you bought the stock before
Absolutely! Buy now with every spare cent!
How about if you only pay for full self-driving when you actually are using it. If your car is only being driven 2 hours a day that would mean that you should be paying for 2 hours of full self-driving rather than$99 or $199 a month when you're not using it but a small fraction of the time
Nice haircut ❤
Supervised fsd should be free. Unsupervised fsd should be $199/month
Yeah the cars should be free too.
As long as i have to be in the car while it is running, it is worth $20/month
When i will send it alone, that will be another game
Don’t cars have to have camera’s to use Tesla’s driving software?
All teslas have the cameras plus the computer. They are constantly collecting driving data and sending back to the factory to calculate FSD.
It's a DESPERATE move. Couldn't sell it for $10k, couldnt sell it for $199. Now $99?
This is telling at how bad things are for Tesla. Also a slap in the face to us suckers that paid $10k for this garbage.
'Desperate' how? When Mr Musk learned Ford was stabbing him in the back with a $1,500 offer, he decided to end Ford's pathetic EV comeback right then and there.
@@lasvegasbound6167You should care more about your diginity than Elon‘s bitch fights.
I was offered the $99/mo fee 2 2weeks ago.
I'd pay 300$ if it included liability for itself
Oops, that's why they did the free trial. It's about getting more data
It would be nice if Tesla owners could earn Tesla credits by providing video input with specific scenarios - requested by Tesla.
IDK. Sounds like desperation to me. I think Musk is out of levers to pull.
I think FSD at $69 a month would hit the sweet spot.🤣
Currently using my free month of FSD. It's amazing tech but at this point, it's just a toy. I wouldn't pay anything for it until it moves from "interesting toy" to "useful tool".
I predict FORD will acquire RIVIAN.
Stop saying that Tesla doesn’t need S and X. It’s counterproductive and incorrect. Of course more cars get sold at cheaper prices, but when I replace my 2017 Model S I’d like to replace it with a 2017 Model S. I’m hoping for another refresh between here and there as well. While my wife enjoys her Model 3, the Model S ride is superior.
Make FSD free and charge per time or km.
FSD by the day… $7.00 per 24 hrs.
$99 a month for a year subscription!
tesla just dropped subscription to FSd to 99 bucks according to techcrunch
It's 99 now!!
Could have sworn this content creator said over and over in the past that he was invested in Tesla for the cars and energy business and FSD was a bonus. Now in recent videos after deliveries have taken a major hit, he seems to be doing a bit of a 180. The car business acting as support for the stock? Actually, the price decreases and sluggish sales are bringing the stock down over the past 6 months - and so it seems he must be talking about long-term and not the present. So much for the explosive future growth projections he talked about. We are now going to talk about it as support while other projects are supposedly ramping up (robotaxis, fsd) that will skyrocket profits. Okay.
I'm in for $99/month.
They just did lower the price
It has happened @MattPocius
$ 99 bucks
Congratulations to y’all 😉
Most economies including the US is not looking too good and Elon could see this coming months ago. With high interest rates and inflation, the entire auto industry will be struggling for awhile. At least Elon had the foresight to build a war chest to weather the rocky times ahead.
Get people addicted and then once you can legally nap on your way to work then raise it to $200+.
Rivian just needs to declare bankruptcy & not raise more cash from their victims, sorry I mean shareholders.
WTF Nostradamas
Would be great if INSURANCE companies gave you a $50 discount each month for FSD - why not? It should PREVENT most accidents!!
725GB a month of video is nothing. i use 20GB a month on my phone alone.
Already $99 in tesla app
👍
I heard from a fire fighter that if a BEV catches fire, there is no way to put them out and they are forced to let them burn out and then bury them. Interesting as I have never heard anyone address BEV fires.
Demand an LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery. They are not only less prone to fires than Lithium Ion, they can handle up to twice as many recharge cycles.
Unlike Lithium Ion, you can keep them charged to 100%, not just 80%, so even though they're a little less energy dense, you almost get as much effective range.
They don't require any nickel or the dreaded Cobalt.
BUY TESLA & NVIDIA STOCK Now
They should’ve made it $69/mth
I like that they are announcing Hobotaxis in August 2024 and acknowledging they won't have a commercial product until at least 2030.
I guess e-lon is taking the fsd approach to Hobotaxis. Start making claims 6-8 years before you have a sellable product. 🤦♂️
Musk ought to just give FSD away and offer lower insurance rates with Tesla Insurance.
WHAT ABOUT ALL THE PEOPLE WHO PAID FULL PRICE?
Until FSD is actually FSD unmonitored it's not worth 20 cents to me.
😇🙏Please Elon: FSD 99$/Month, the next 24 month!
After that: 199$ /month...
Raise it to $500 a month
I wish that Tesla would lower the price of the full self driving computer.
$99 per month gets more users, which gets more data, it's as simple as that
Elon doing a good informative earnings call ? 😂😂😂
Elon only does absolute disaster earnings calls.
