Yes...those pies were extra delicious! Unfortunately, the few Shoney's left that we have found and tried on our travels are not anywhere as good as they were 30+ years ago. Actually, they were dirty, greasy spoon dives. ☹🙁☹🙁☹🙁☹🙁🙁☹🙁
My sister used to make a similar recipe using crushed pretzels for the crust. It was yummy and my kids always ask for it. Love you Sara. Please take care of yourself. My asthma is flaring up something awful. Sounds like you're breathing hard.
Sarah Sarah Sarah. You should never use metal utensils in a nonstick pan. You ruin the finish. To stop pie crust from shrinking never stretch the dough to fit the pan, also glass pans tend to cause the crust to shrink. Make sure you wipe the water off the pan so it doesn’t drip into the pie.
