    Thank God I found you. I was learning Russian in secondary school and then in highschool, and when i came to the college I was really worried that I could loose contact with Russian. Really love this language, I've fallen in love with it. What I like the most in your videos that I have to base on my English when I can't understand what does it mean in Russian. I have to admit that Russian isn't that hard for me to learn as it could be for others, cos I'm Polish and there is some similarities. So I'm really happy that I can watch your videos and hopefuly I can improve my Russian. Greeting from Poland :)

      Dziękuję za miłe słowa! I actually created this channel for the same reason - I was afraid to loose contact with Russian and forget it. Since I moved to the Netherlands I don't have anyone here to talk in Russian. It was a frightening thought, because it's my mother tongue but I was really slowly forgetting it. So I created this channel and it made me speak Russian on regular basis and it motivates me to remember all the grammar rules, read more in Russian. I am glad you like the videos. Удачи! I hope you will improve your Russian. Trzymam za ciebie kciuki! :D

    Hello guys! I speak spontaneously in this video and sometimes pretty fast. Russian subtitles are ready and English ones will be there tomorrow.
    By the way, I see that CZcams changed the background color of subtitles and now it is difficult to read. You can change it in settings: go to 'settings', choose 'subtitles' and click on 'options'.
    I forgot to say the most important thing! :) Russians say: Как встретишь Новый год, так его и проведёшь. It could be translated as: A fulfillment of an upcoming year depends on how you spend your New Year's Eve. I believe there is a similar phrase in English: A good beginning makes a good ending. So yeah, that explains why the celebration of New Year's Eve is so important to Russians.
    P.S. Merry Christmas ;)

      CZcams subtitles have indeed become difficult, if not impossible, to read: white letters on a bright transparent background.
      I can only read them if the video behind them is black or dark.
      I tried to find a way to change that, but I have not found any 'options' to change the way subtitles are presented so far.
      The only thing related that I found so far is a checkbox to "Always show captions" at Account settings/Playback.

      I have found a way to change it. As I wrote already, you must go to settings --> subtitles and there in the upper right corner are options, there you can change the background, the color of letters, the font and the transparency.

      ...
      Ahh, now I found it. :)
      It is in the video player window: Settings->Subtitles->Options.
      I had been looking for that all over my CZcams account.
      Thanks, I'm quite happy to know that solution now. :)

    а "Морозко" разве не реставрировали? там, вроде, пару лет назад почистили пленку и звук:)

    • @NatashaspeaksRussian
      @NatashaspeaksRussian  Před 7 lety

      Да, не трещит там ничего, но всё же одно дело просто смотреть, а другое - пытаться услышать каждое слово, особенно когда они поют. Но я нашла сценарий, так что всё будет хорошо. :D

    It will be a loud crazy active holiday, I see the shops selling lots of champagne and fireworks, I see people selling fireworks on the street too. My girlfriend has already warned me that I must not walk around town during New Years night alone but to stay with her and her friends to be safe.

    • @NatashaspeaksRussian
      @NatashaspeaksRussian  Před 7 lety +1

      So, Steven, how did it go? Was it loud? :) I'm afraid to go outside because of the fireworks and in Russia it is a combination of drunk people and fireworks, so it is very dangerous.

    • @stevenarthur5714
      @stevenarthur5714 Před 7 lety +1

      Yes, very loud :) New Years night I did not sleep, fireworks continued being lit next day and next night. I felt sorry for all the birds and dogs and cats, they must have thought the world was coming to an end.

      Есть такое. Некоторые женщины в России тоже считают, что краситься им не стоит, потому что у них "красивый", богатый внутренний мир, потому что они умны и образованны. Они считают, что краситься стоит только тем женщинам, у которых кроме красивого лица, красивой внешности больше ничего нет. Но я считаю, что, если есть возможность, почему бы не воспользоваться этой возможностью? Я думаю, если женщина умна, она будет следить за собой и стараться выглядеть красиво. Красота уму не мешает. :)
