This time I'll give you many examples with mutually reflexive verbs встречаться and видеться (they both are translated as to meet).

Мы видимся-- это переводится на английский как We see each other? можно сказать мы видим друг друга?
No, you see "Мы видимся" has a meaning of "we are seeing each other". Мы увидимся means "we will meet", can be also used when saying goodbyеs, meaning that we will meet/see each other another time: Пока! Увидимся!
I think the easiest way to explain it is this: think about "Мы видимся" as about a repeated action and about "мы видим друг друга" as about a single action in the present. For example, мы видим друг друга, когда мы разговариваем по скайпу. We both have cameras, so when we talk on Skype we see each other.
