I don't care what anyone else says, these guys have always been class acts. And they were giving a great dedication to another class act. RIP Ronnie. See you on the other side.
NO ONE could ever talk shit about Iron Maiden, never..they have never done anything wrong. I got into a conversation with some young metal head and they said they could not get into Maiden and thought they were overrated all the while they wore a Korn shirt. Anyone who does not recognize ...you know what if you do not like Iron Maiden then I am sorry, yes everyone has and is allowed an opinion but if someone professes to be a metal head and is not into Maiden then you are not a metal head...plain and simple. Iron Maiden is awesome
Felony Strutter - I don't care they were wearing Korn shirt, I love Korn in an entirely different way (while Maiden is my #1 band for many reasons), though, Korn has become kind of drivel since after like 2005 and I don't really care anymore. - But where someone gets that Iron Maiden is "overrated"... Well, maybe in one way or another, but they've always been such a no-bullshit band that just does what they love to do and they're always there and make no excuses, being professional and reasonable and so on. - And yea, to some extent they might be a little overrated, even as a fan I can see that if I take a step back and look at some things. But you can't really say that about a band that is still high quality in many other aspects. I don't think there's that many people who are negative about Iron Maiden anyway, the ones that don't have anything with the band or music just don't bother, which is fine. I think we're just getting into a generation where "we" (already established fans) are getting older and we see these younger kids come in just not getting it. We're becoming our parents... Of course there are some exceptions, there will still be teens and the like who love Iron Maiden.
Why are there so many hate comments Ronnie was amazing and an inspiration to all metalers Ronnie is a metal god he's probably having tea with Jesus right now the devil is scared of dio no matter how short he is he's amazing In every way
Bruce Dickinson is absolutely amazing himself, to be honoring the great RJD in this fashion.... Makes the short hairs stand up! Wow... one of the best giving tribute to one if not "the" greatest ever! R.I.P. Ronnie James Dio!
I met Ronnie on a plane coming from San Diego to the east coast. I recognized him immediately and said hi to him as I was the last person on the plane. As soon as the seat belt sign went I off I went to talk to him. I told him I loved his music and he really appreciated it. He told his manager to take my name and I had two tickets as his guest. He was short in stature but had a huge voice!!! This was in the early 80s probably when holy diver came out. I also had a chance to talk to Vinnie Appice the legendary drummer a really cool guy too. I will never forget it.

Old comment, I know. I was at an Amon Amarth show in Boston a few years ago and in the middle of "War of the Gods" the floor crowd picked up a wheelchair-bound fan and carried him over their heads to the stage to get a fist bump from singer Johan Hegg. Absolutely immortal.
It's not insulting to anyone, including the late great Ronnie James. It is a way of expressing respect for someone who has passed. Stop being so sensitive. Dio even sang on a Christian rock album for Kansas guitarist Kerry Livgren back in 1980 (and recorded with him again in the early 2000s), so apparently he wasn't as sensitive about such matters as are you.
