@@goodtalker here’s the link. They must be put on with a hand socket/ratchet. A power impact driver will damage the paint and they will rust. Went through a set before I read the fine print. Not trying to be the know it all guy but I was always told growing up to lay the tire under the vehicle when removed so if you're Jack or stands fail it gives you space to survive the drop maybe 👍

Those wheels have about an inch less offset than the stock ones so you got your spacer effect without the spacers

Your channel was recommended. Great video, steady filming,informative. I put those TRD wheels in black on my FJ 5 years ago. Bought a 5th for the spare because it’s displayed. I agree that these stock rims look great from a Toyota. I also put on the Bilstein adjustable shocks / struts. I’ve been contemplating spending the money on Spidertrax wheel spacers.

I did a leveling kit 2 up front and 1 in the rear running 18x9 fuel vapor wheels with 305 65 r18 nitto ridge grappler tires it turned out looking better than what I thought. In a way I wish I just of went with the TRD PRO WHEELS

2022 Tacoma off road, 275/70R17 KO2’s. Factory levelling kit. Without driving hard, easily under 15L/100km. Smooth ride. Installed spidertrax 1.25” spacers yesterday. Rough ride, 16.2-17L/100km right off the hop (dont know high speed results yet). Going on a 2500km trip (5000 return), seriousely debating if the “cool factor” is worth the extra $ in gas and rougher ride, as well as wear & tear…

This was my first Tacoma, 2015 Trd Sport pre runner pyrite Micah was the color and I loved it. Got stuck in the mud at the lake and from there on I went with 4x4, but man I loved that truck so much.

Outstanding!!! Truck looks ten-fold better. I have a 2018 Inferno TRD Off Road and plan to update my wheels and tires at some point. No hurry per the wife 😀. I am more of an aesthetics person and love the look you now have. I too don’t like tires that stick out too far. Nothing wrong per se, just not my style. Sharp truck and great videos. Take care!

Be careful about that mudflap and spacers. I know some states have bylaws about that. Considered a rock hazard. Good you fixed those.

you dont want spacers, extra stress on wheel bearing and I talk from experiance, I have Spidertrax 1.25 with OEM 265/ 17 tires and wheels. @ 75 MPH just a little vibration, but the truck looks so much better

Those wheels and tires look perfect on your truck, I want to get a set for my 07 prerunner. Good call on no spacers, I had a set on my last truck and it made the truck drive horribly - your truck looks way better without them. Sweet rig, you did it right - surprised you didn’t mention that badass trd pro grill when you were naming your upgrades
Were you using hub centric spacers? I had none centric spacers and my truck rode like shit... changed them for centric, drove fine afterward

I'm having an issue with my 2018 TRD Off-Road; the rotors rubbing the wheels (metal on metal) and I was thinking wheel spacers might help?? I'm new to trucks...

Great video, what brand of 2.25 spacer did you install? And in the rear, you mentioned first you added a leaf then a block. In the end, how much lift was with the add a leaf and block to continue w the rake look?

Check out my Tacoma playlist there is a video that actually shows a tape measure of the difference in height. I would say I did 1 inch in the front and 2 inches in the back.

Glad you nixed the spacers, and you will be too....most tire shops won't work on your truck because of them....liability from torque issues. I tried the spacers and not only did they create rubbing, but got a lot of splash from mud....basically rendered my mud flaps useless. Also glad you kept some rake....people forget they're trucks! Going badge less is a good look too!

I'm looking at the same wheels for my 2015 Tacoma. I've been doing some research though because they aren't the same width or offset from the stock wheels and there may be issues running the bigger tire at stock height.
The Tacoma TRD Sport wheels are 17×7.5 with a +30mm offset.
The 4Runner TRD Pro wheels are 17×7.0 with a +04mm offset.
So, even without spacers, the wheels are already going to be 26mm (1") farther out than the Sport wheels.
The rubbing is due to moving tire size 265/65R17 -> 265/70R17. It's a 13.25mm (½") taller sidewall. The negative from stock offset and lift helps negate that though. I'm trying to figure out if I can get away with no lift and the 265/70R17 tires. Seems Husky mud flaps might help, I guess they mount slimmer, or none at all.
How does it all feel after driving on them for a while now?
the ride is rough but not as rough as my daughters stock jeep for perspective. the only rubbing was the little flap that hangs down that i removed.
Truck look great, just a tip for you. Lower the truck back on the ground before final torque of the wheels. 👍🏽

MUCH better without the spacer. I've always hated the look of trucks with the wheels sticking way out, looks dumb to me. Also, a lot of people think all of the OEM wheels have the same offset, but the TRD wheels have a wider offset than the stock wheels, I think it's a difference of about 25mm, which probably is enough for the look you want. I have a 2020 Tacoma that I'll be doing a similar setup on and I plan to use the same wheels in matte black, but with no spacer. They should line up with the fender flare perfectly.
Now that I see the gray TRD wheels on a magnetic gray truck, I might actually go that route instead of the matte black wheels, but I think it'd look great either way.

TheTacoMan yes. Slightly more is accurate. I’d say perfect without spacers. I think the wheel offset combined with the way the tire sidewall ends up because of the mounting bead at the rim makes the perfect alignment with the fender flare. Thanks for the comment!

Few years ago I changed my stock tires for a very good looking LT tires, 3 months later I removed it because of fuel consumption increase 30%
These tires do not have a noticeable fuel increase. I also was worried about that but it gets pretty Close to what I did before. Thanks for the comment

Or you could remove the flaps. The flaps reduce clearance by A LOT and with them being bolted on hard plastic, if they do catch on something, you risk damaging the fender and where they're attached.
I ended up cutting them down. I did a video on it. Check it out. They came out really nice.

Gen the next mod gears thanks for helping me out i have a 2014 ,sport i boughtnit with way less miles it atill smelled new it had 11k miles on it im from cali i bought it from interprise car sales in sacramento the reason y it had so low miles gas is to ezspensive here in cali nobody going to rent a truckl ol search trd rock warrior sport all the moda ive done to my truck take your truck to 4 wheel parts get the 3In. Lift by pro comp get the pro runner mono tube shocks ull love them
