We have had Stabilitrack false notices due to corrosion in harness connections. Fix was to pull, clean pins, and re pack with dielectric grease. Has happened several times on multiple vans. Just throwing that out there ...
1:02 I totally understand your suspicion about the situation. But you've got a good mind for these type things. If something does go hinky with it, you'll be right there. Try to relax and enjoy the Suburban as much as possible. Car repair talk, shop talk, political talk, family talk... We're here for it all. 😊 Keep it coming.
You should do a video about the IAT sensor on the Ford Ecoboost engines. I was having issues with a 2019 Ford Escape Titanium that was losing power and felt sluggish and would sometimes buck and hesitate starting out from a stop and sometimes going up hills. Also on the highway I could sometimes feel a slight up and down surging in the RPMs going up hills. I had no codes but I was monitoring live data and saw erroneous data like super high intake temps, coolant temperature spikes to 200C momentarily, and control module drops and spikes that happened momentarily. I removed the IAT sensor and saw that the blue tip was black on one side. I cleaned it with mass air flow sensor cleaner and all those issues are now gone away and it’s running like a new vehicle. It has 71,000 miles. I could find no good info about this sensor for Ford’s on CZcams. It’s crazy that this cheap sensor was causing so many issues. The power is now fully restored. I was thinking I could have fouled plugs or a bad coil(s) so it was good to be able to fix this simply by cleaning that sensor.
Check the ground on the driver side frame rail pretty much in line with the A pillar for the Stabilitrak light. If that vehicle is FlexFuel (forget if 07 had it) check on your scanner data stream for what the vehicle thinks the fuel composition is. Sometimes it will be falsely high like 80% alcohol content and cause that long crank too. You can force it to reset/relearn the fuel composition. Generally it sets fuel trim too rich codes instead of too lean but it's worth a quick look since it's a free repair.
Bank 1 lean and Bank 2 lean codes on those mean intake gaskets. I have seen it countless times. It can also cause a little bit of a long crank and a slightly rough idle. The rubber just flattens out overtime and causes the gaskets to leak. Also on the gmt900s a lot of check engine light codes can also set the stabilitrak and traction control lights on. So fixing the cel for lean codes will probably fix the stabilitrak issue as well. Also I have had a couple gmt900s here recently where were having random starting issue and tpms issue and all kinds of stuff. Wound up replacing the battery cables even though they didn't look bad and resolved the issue.
Some DTC codes clear after x amount of engine cycles. Try clearing them with a scan tool. Note the drive senario you were doing when it set. Or even now since it is gone.
Stabilitrac comes on with check engine since engine problems can prevent it from controlling all aspects of stabilitrac. Read codes and it'll show disabled due to pcm.
ECM. I recall having similar lean codes and other odd issues and it was the ECM. I was a GM dealer tech 99-2014 a lifetime ago. Work on busses now. Have you heard of IATN? Think that site is still around. Useful sometimes.
Or check the Ego/UEgo sensor with a scan tool to see if it is cycling above and below 1.0, which is stoichiometry (perfect air/fuel mixture) and you are in closed loop and not in open loop fueling. The system uses the ego sensors to verify you are not running too rich or lean of a fuel mixture and adjusts accordingly. None of that has anything to do with stability track however.
I have a 95 F- 150 Fuel pump died in March . Had it replaced. It ran strong for a month. It started stalling & refused to start. Hard to cycle the key switch over & over again to get it to start. Dies after 10 miles of driving. Took it back to the mechanic who replaced the Fuel pump 3 times. They jack me around & keep replacing parts that don't fix the problem. I am done getting screwed over & paying. They won't warranty what I think is a bad Fuel pump . Can't get good parts or service anymore. Pissed off.
If it runs rough and it’s throwing those codes on initial start up 99% of the time I will be the intake gaskets they need to be updated common problem on them when they heat up they swell up which intern closes the vacuum leak up I’ve done a couple hundred of those in my time. Should be able to look at the free frame data. See when the code was set. More than likely. You’ll see when it was cold or soon after initial start up hope this helps.
Blew engine in 07 tahoe...bought crate engine from summit and was supposed to be direct replacement...it's not,has a 24 relucter wheel ...needs to be a 58...it's not going to work...I just had dropped in truck..nothing hooked up..just had them remove block from mounts and disconnect trans..and put block in and reattach trans mounts....so pissed off.
I have a 2012 like this. One day, the battery was low. When I went to start it, the voltage dropped real low when I engaged the starter. After that, the rear air blows hot. I tried the recalibration procedure. Put on auto, Pull fuse, wait, put it back in, start it, and let it re calibrate. Nothing has helped. It’s either my blend door stuck or the actuator is toast. Any tips on how to fix without a scan tool?
Your health is 90% diet. Clean up your diet. Cut down on sugar and carbs and lose weight. Check into intermittent fasting. Very healthy. Your body is just like a car. The food you eat is like the gas and oil you put in your car. Take care of your body.
You could always exercise daily and rake many vitamins and become healthy. Just a suggestion for everyone. I speak from my own experience. At the gym right now!
Not everyone needs vitamins and exercise. I'm so sick of people acting like that's the cure all to everything. I'm 53 6 foot tall and have never weighed more than 200 pounds. I'm at 185 as of last week when I went to the doctor for my yearly physical. I eat whatever I want. I don't exercise other than work or personal errands and activities. I sit around watching TV sometimes for hours. I spent 25 years in active alcoholism abusing and neglecting my health. I have never set foot in a gym except to fix an HVAC unit. My bloodwork always comes back good. My doctor compliments me on my health. I even took a stress test last year because heart disease is in my family and it came back excellent. I'm rarely sick. In spite of what guys like you think some people are just built different. It's DNA. You can't change it. Sure you can somewhat help yourself but is it really worth it? I'd rather enjoy life. Take that exercise and vitamin crap somewhere else. At 53 I promise I'm in better health than you.
I saw in a previous video you were doing an oil change on some green ford delivery van. I saw when you put the gas pedal to the floor the engine would crank but not start. I have a 2008 accord 4 cylinder. Can I do this in my car? I have the vtc rattle and that would solve it. Thank you @fordbossme
Seen plenty of MAF issues on those models throwing lean codes, usually it’ll read high like high 6’s or low 7’s at hot idle which is way too high, you want to see it in the mid 5’s at hot idle. Also if you’ve got a bad check valve causing extended crank, couldn’t that also be causing low fuel pressure after it fires up which in turn could throw lean codes?
Sorry you're feeling under the weather, Ford Boss. I hope you recover soon. 🙂

It's Murphy's Law - just swapped out the condenser on the civic and a mil light goes off for the O2 heater circuit .... Never fails
Get well quickly Rich....
Your a GOOD man !!
Appreciate ya !!
Feel better ! Glad the trunk running good, Good enough for now.. when or if it sets the codes again.. you’ll find it I’m sure .
Looking forward to your life and channel updates

I was gonna say intake of MAF and you called it out...good luck with it.
Please show the fuel pump install please! Thank you for all you do brother.
It has always been my experience that vehicle performance increases 12-15% following a wash and wax.
Sometimes just a jolt from working on it can fix something else. Gremlins 😮
Algo 👊 bump. Feel better Boss.
I'm concerned because of the blue converter.and the work you said someone did looked sketch
It fixed itself. Well great
Great video thank for update 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Also sorry your under the weather hope you feel better soon great videos
Do I hear the pattern pater of little feet
Probably have a bad ground somewhere. These are notorious for badly corroded ground straps causing weird issues like this.
Well now, I was just looking through here and this showed up. Screw tube does not give me a notification.
Hope you feel better soon
Last one i did the intake gaskets were leaking found it with the smoke machine
I had the same problem. Had the MAP sensor cleaned and it worked fine. Something you could try first. Hope you’re feeling better soon.
Hey thanks for the update boss I hope you get feeling better ASAP I wonder if it can't be in our crazy short or something caused by the airbag sensor
Hope you feel better sent you an email get some rest

Did the wife go back to Panera ?
Hopefully it's just the crud. Feel better brother 😎👍👍

Ford boss and mamma going to have a child.
Elvis, (Rich) is Priscilla (your wife) pregnant already? ❤️

I'm not sure if the Hondas do this
Try it but be ready to let go.of the gas QUICK if the engine starts to rev up
@@FordBossMe that’s what I’m worried about but that is a really cool feature for pre lubricating the engine. Thanks for the reply.
Or injectors leaking down.
Hope you're doing a podcast other than that did you ever do a carfax on the suburban did it ever have water damage for electrical problems
No water damage or anything like that
How come you didn't look for an Expedition?
Because Expeditions have the 3 valve engines or are 20+ years old and rusted out.
Yep what he said ^^

No - I Voluntarily Stepped Away due to some of the controversial topics I cover so none of them caught flac for it

Bad gasoline can cause those codes I fill up with only mobiil

Why buy a Chevy is my question. I can't stand squared off fenders. God Bless.

No not a lemon
