The first time I heard him do Nick in his routine I thought it was mostly for comedic effect, that no one sounds like that. Then I heard Nick. He's just the amount of weird needed to be awesome. The closest celebrity that's like that I can think of is Aubrey Plaza.

Grapes on New Year's Eve is a Spanish tradition. You eat a grape each time the bell sounds at midnight for good luck in the new year. I just learned this after watching Smiley of NFX

Latina here: Yes the 12 grapes are a Latin thing. You're supposed to eat them quick so you get what you want for the year. There are other New Years superstitions (cleaning the house and throwing the dirty water out the door, color undies for different things you want to manifest in the new year, walking around the block with a packed suitcase for travel, etc)

It doesn’t even have to be logs. Being behind any flatbed truck hauling cars, pipes, poles or anything else that can easily dislodge from its straps and crush me is a reason to change lanes. All trucks should be trailers so I feel safe. 😂

i had to pause at the nick incident with the car and just take a moment for reflection. i concluded i need more nick energy in my life and that will be my new years resolution.
OK my daughter and I have a bet going. She thinks you and nick are cousins. I say you're not. But we love you and your committees. We watch everything we can find with you. And we ove Nick also. I think your I never liked you should be 30 minutes, not 15. My daughter is a paraplegic and I'm 70 years old with leg problems, so we don't get out like we once did. But you have brought so much laughter into our home, so thank you so much. With great love

I remember around the time the movie came out on VHS, like shortly after I saw the movie for the first time, my neighbors, who were a little older than me, got an actual Jumanji game, and not just some folding cardboard game board one, but like a movie prop quality game (at least that’s how I remember it. I vividly remember them sitting it on the dining room table and it sounding like a hollow wooden box being sat on a wooden table and not at all like what a plastic box would sound like) and they pulled it out to play while I was there. I was old enough to know Jumanji was just a movie, but I remember seeing the Jumanji game they had and thinking it looked too real to be just a store bought toy game they picked up from Walmart. I knew who Robbin Williams was and knew he was a comedian/actor, so I knew the Robbin Williams Jumanji movie was obviously just a movie, but seeing the Jumanji game they had and how real it looked, I kind of convinced myself that the game itself must be real and the movie was just one of those dramatized movies that portrayed true life events and was telling the true story of a kid who got caught up in the game. So I was convinced they had somehow gotten the real game board, or one of the real game boards, and there was a very real possibility shit could go down if we messed with it and I wanted absolutely nothing to do with it. So just turned around and took myself back home…
