I saw a small question mark on your face on the lyrics "suffer with all the dead children". "Dead boy" is a nickname Tuomas (writer on keyboard) gave himself. Childhood innocence , their open and unprejudiced mind is considered perfect by Tuomas. But when he became an adult, he lost these qualities (partly). The boy-Tuomas no longer exists, therefor the boy-Tuomas is dead. Hence "Dead boy". "Dead children" would refer to adults, people who have inevitably lost these important and pure qualities.

I think you were quite right on the interpretation of the song: Live is now! Live it the way that best suits YOU! Death will inevitably come sooner then you would like. Make sure at the end you have lived you life and don't allow yourself to be limited by some doctrine even if it takes courage to escape it. (Tuomas is not very keen on religions, but this message is certainly not limited to religions, peoples expectations, peer-pressure or your own greed)

I think you're interpretation is pretty close. Other NW songs like 'Ghost River' or 'While Your Lips Are Still Red' seem to have this theme.
