Still, and yet, Ricky touched my young heart, hus song's, the 60's, were so popular, esp., dealing with the crap that teen's had to endure through the 60's, the viet-nam war-human right's, and on-and-on-, I am thankful that I had my OLD LP'S, TO listen to, they gave me a feeling of support, when the Gov., did not!

Burton's Fender Telecaster was special on lead gutiar (Burton went on to play behind Elvis Presley from '69 thru '77) BUT James Kirkland's bass was also SOLID.

One of the all time best voices. Somewhat under rated and overlooked, but the real fans of great music loved him and know good stuff!!!!

Please do, I'm 23 and trying so hard to find my Ricky, i'm loosing faith that he exists. I miss this music too. My mom keeps telling me I was born in the wrong time or that i was reincarnated from this era, and I know its true every time I hear him sing.

I agree with you..I grew up in this era also, want to and am bringing some of this great music to the stage at a place we opened here in Pueblo CO.. I do some Ricky Songs, Fats, Jim Reeves..This was a great time in history and I have many fond memories of these times. Now some of the young people here are getting a chance to hear what this type of music sounded like with a fender telecaster, a standup bass and piano. We had a great crowd Friday night.

I sit here and sentamentally watch this,...My heart just hurts so bad as I think on just HOW MUCH GOODNESS we have lost in such a short time! Ooooohhh.I just think back to when I was a kid and just how my daddy loved this old stuff! After seeing the debate tonight and looking at who we have a choice of just makes me ill.Back when this song was out,we had such legends like Eisenhower,McCarther, and just so many great men and women of moral integrity! We kicked the good lord out,so this is it!

six years ago when my daughter was pregnant we were watching a rerun of Rick on Saturday Night Live. We both commented on how handsome she was. I told her Rick's real name is Eric...so that is how she named her son my grandson Eric.
