  • Departing the Toledo, Ohio Central Union Terminal on the westbound Capitol Limited (train #29). The video was shot in the very early morning hours of Sunday, May 29, 2022. The trackage is the Norfolk Southern (formerly Conrail, Penn Central, New York Central, Lake Shore & Michigan Southern) main line from Buffalo to Chicago (NYC's Water Level Route). At the 5:05 mark is the beginning of a 68.5 mile stretch of continuous straight track all the way into Indiana. Unfortunately, the quality of some of the video is poor due to filming directly into the rising sun and an EXTREMELY dirty window; however, it adds a certain ambiance.

Very nice! Used to be my territory. Back in NYC days, lots of triple track extended far West of Toledo. Silly that they took it out

@@kevinhoward9593 I'd believe it! Straight track for 60 miles you could definitely move!

Wow! I didn't know that there were 3 curves after leaving Toledo, Ohio up to and after Stanley Yard on the Norfolk Southern air line then the 68.5 mile tangent to Bryan, Ohio. If my guess is correct or is it Butler, Indiana.
